It would be nice if I could snap my fingers and replace capitalist liberal democracy with workers' councils and collective industry, but I can't. What a political movement can do depends what's feasible in a given situation. Marxists and anarchists have failed to show that the term "socialism" accurately describes, hence none of the rest of us on the left should feel obliged to use it when it's commonly used as an ideologically bigoted slur for more-to-the-left-than-what-I-subjectively-think-is-reasonable.
