I can relate. My husband and I lost our first born son at 7 months. I was so distraught, I was beside myself, his father a good man stepped in took care of everything.. I just remember laying in the hospital bed full of grief. My Father in-law putting his arms around me saying. You need help, let me take care of this. And he did , he made all the arrangements, picked out everything, chose the plot in the family cemetery. He was a good man. He just stepped in did what I could not at that time. I tell my children about their brother and how their G paw took care. When we go back home, we go to the family cemetery, visit all that we have lost. We have put a new marker up. Due to weather, my sons marker was looking a bit rough. You never get over the loss of a child. I had other children but I never forget my first born. Know he's in God care. One day we will all be together again. Take care,God Bless. Love, respect and Positivity Always. Vee and Family.
What a great video! So many interesting stories that you presented. A lovely cemetery in a beautiful state.....thanks as always for the historical content!
Definitely a beautiful day there It’s in the 60s and sunny here in Massachusetts.. Isn’t it great meeting knowledgeable people in cemeteries!! That was a great bit of local history! The little boy with his dog,so sweet. I didn’t know the grave in the cemetery you’re visiting today, had glass window as well. Do you know where they moved her grave to? I only knew about the other grave with the window. The story is the little girl was afraid of thunder storms. Her mother wanted a window built so she could sit with her at her grave. There’s a short stairway and at the bottom was a window into the grave. You can go down the steps today, but the window was bricked up years ago.
What an interesting and tragic story. I'm always fascinated with your teachings and respect for the deceased. Thank you! What a sweet lady to help and lend her knowledge.
That's what you call fate. Someone comes along who.knows a little more History and is willing to show you graves you might of missed. She gave all of us a History lesson today. Added a little something extra to your video. God Bless her. That little boy laying on the dog. Was unique. I've never seen one that big. Boys did wear dresses back then. I've seen old family videos where my male relatives wore their sisters hand me downs. No shame in that those back then didn't have a lot of money. Nothing went to waste. I've seen them even in 1929 little boys weaing dresses. Thanks for a interesting video. God Bless. Safe travels along the Back Roads. Love, respect and positivity Always. Vee James .
I've wanted to visit this one for years, but have not been close enough on my road trips through the area from Iowa. Hope you can make it to Natchez City Cemetery some day as there are some amazing graves and stories in that cemetery.
Great stories, sad to loose a child, you loose part of your self too..I could imagine her sadness just looking at the grave and what she was going through.
There was another grave I've seen on a You Tube channel, maybe it was you where a mother lost her child and there were steps going down to her child's tomb with a window as she she was scared of thunderstorms when alive. The mother went down to read to her. So amazing bless her. Where has Mittie Manning's coffin been moved to as she's no longer there anymore?
The other grave is in Natchez. I couldn’t find where she was moved to. The lady I met did not know either. I hope to go see the steps grave this year sometime.
This reminds me of a ghost story that was told to me by my Grandmother once. The story ended with, "And this is where I am burried." As the old caretaker smiled and vanished before my very eyes.
While you are in mississippi can you feature the grave of Paul Davis? He was a singer in the 70s.He had several hits to include I go crazy..He has a find a grave so you can get the info where he is..thanks
OMG. This video appeared in my feed and I happened to scroll through the comments and found yours. I was actually watching an old vid of Cool Night earlier today!!
Just started watching your page. If you ever get up to New York State in Rome ny where I’m from the one cemetery has Francis Bellamy grave the guy who wrote the pledge of allegiance and the city has a lot of other great history like griffis AFB and oriskany battle field the Erie Canal fort stanwix it’s a great city with a lot of history
@@BackRoads1 a lot of history you’ll love it. The griffis Air Force base has shut down but they have a lot of history and different things up there now it’s cool to see. And the oriskany battle field was the bloodiest battle of the revolutionary war. They have fort stanwix that is cool too see and there are a other forts to see in New York State. But Rome New York has so much history behind it I don’t think many people realize it and Rome ny is center of the state about 4-5 hours from New York City and about 4 hours from Buffalo and Rome also had the last Woodstock back in 1999
