Definitely put money into savings. If you want "bills" for your envelopes just go to a dollar store and get children's play money (I got a pack at Dollar atree for 1.25) or to a thrift store and buy a Monopoly game or 2 for the money and throw the rest away. You could make a savings challenge with the property cards by putting dollar amounts to save on each of them and randomly pull the properties and save the amount. You can make saving challenges out of anything.
I can't wait to follow along on your cash budgeting college edition! I agree, putting your money in the HYSA would probably be safer. I hope you are able to find a job quickly. I only wish I would've found the cash budgeting system at your age, you're so far ahead of the game and I am excited to see what's next for you.
Please keep us all updated. It would be fun for us if you take us along as you are getting settled into college, your job hunting and savings. Love your channel and we are all so excited for you.
I support you putting placeholders into your envelopes and putting the cash into your HYSA. It'll earn you more interest (and if yours is in Ally, you can have separate buckets if you really need to demarcate the funds so easily!), AND it's truly just safer. I really don't like having a lot of cash in the house. Have fun on your trip!
Awesome job, young man! You’re doing great!! Proud of you. You are way ahead in the game for your age! Kudos to you for being responsible and disciplined!! More than you can say for a lot of people! Wish you much success in college and don’t let the girls distract you 😊 stay focused ☺️
Yes I would put everything in your savings account and get a bunch of prop money from Amazon for stuffing. Then when you get like a hundred in an envelope just replace the prop money with a placeholder. That way you can keep re-using the prop money!! And I have a question...you had said college would cost you $8k after your scholarships...is that 8k a year? Or like 8k for all 4 years? Great video!!🎉
As someone that’s going into my sophomore year in college and cash envelope stuffing. I suggest just to keep saving for the same amount or more for ur fees that will be due in the spring, especially if ur fees include textbooks because it adds up fast. So instead of just spreading the money in other categories still save for ur school fees
Put money into high yield savings. Plus, if you do the videos. Do it all electronically.... You can open up several accounts and label which one is which. And do your videos when your roommate is not around
you can still make videos of things you bought for your dorm room, setting it all up, even a tour of your campus. This way you still make videos and when you get a job you can continue. It would be a shame since you worked so hard.
