- Citroen Berlingo van tour micro camper
This is our 2004 Citroen Berlingo conversion, we consider it 90% finished, we did plan on doing a fair bit more including a small sink and water system but plans change.
It will shortly be going up for sale so that we can get on with our next project.

We are Gary, Mallissa and Belle our springer spaniel.
We love to travel to new places as often as we can, adventuring in our self built camper van. We are currently on our 3rd camper van, building whilst living in it, not always an easy task to say the least, but we managed.
Whenever we go on an adventure we would like our subscribers to come along for the experience, be it, hiking, van building or even a bit of paddle boarding, who know’s you May find new places with us that you haven’t seen yourselves.
So fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.

My mechanic put a button on the inside of the rear door which enables us to open the boot from the inside.
Also I put a bungee through the boot lid strap and hook it to the boot catch so I can have the boot lid open at about 45 degrees. Ideal for when you want the boot open but not the wind blowing the rain in on you.

@@g.m_unplugged,Great stuff!! The button on the boot lid is very, very useful! Obviously it is connected to the boot mechanism, so only works when the car is unlocked. I think you could easily fit it yourself given your other work on your van.
We just fitted removable solar 5 minute installation needing no DIY skills…

Thanks very much, I agree with that although we struggled with the decision to fit the pull out bit that you have at the back when the boot is open 😊
@@g.m_unplugged there is away around getting the back door open when you are inside there is a small hole in the door latch and you can get a cable tie on it and a bit of rope to open it from the inside

Car /micro campers make real sense as you don’t always want a camp ⛺️/big pack adventure
But want day bags and moving fast kinda fun

The Berlingo was going to be sold but It seems to be staying at the moment!

It's a cracking little camper, nicely finished. I was planning a simpler boot jump set up as health won't let me do a build.

No we didn’t, When we bought it it had a bench seat in the back and the belt was already in place!

How you insurance it do you have to take photos to your insurance company as if you don't tell them if you have a accident or get stop by the police you can get in trouble.
I had to inform my insurance company and tell them,but the DVLA said if it's not a full build it don't need to be registered but everyone who makes a micro camper or a Boot Pod must tell there insurance company as even if it's not your fault in a accident you won't be able to make a claim off the other party.
Most people don't realise even just putting a roof rack or roof box it must be declared.

It can certainly be a little tricky these days when it comes to self converted campers and insuring them!
APlan will insure for a ‘Camper in progress’ they can also advise on whether you need to inform the DVLA about any changes.

The length of the bed is 70” with the passenger seat in the forward position.
