Great energy. Coming from a surface laptop 3, i noticed the screen on the zenbook duo is slightly shorter ~ 3cm. I also miss the 4k resolution, although if i set the zoom level to 110% its not too bad. The colors of the screen for some reason were dull compared to the surface, but increasing the saturation to 80 in intel graphics command center helped a lot. After about a month of use, im starting to use the second screen more, mainly for studing atm. The plastic around the keyboard makes it feel less premium than the full metal body of the surface, which really did bother me quite a bit initially, but im used to it now. Like you, I find using a mouse necessary, i barely use the trackpad. With the keyboard i really do appreciate the fn+escape lock, this makes using the dual function keys much easier! This always annoyed me about the surface, accidently tapping the function key switches the function and you never know.
Just bought the ux482 ..and actually im impressed by it , even the trackpad feels very good that I don’t need an external mouse …very fresh design and great experience
Wow, looks like they listened to you on a few things. I just purchased the 15.6" UX582LR. Obviously the bigger screen, they have provided a wrist rest now (Trackpad not centralised tho) and there is a number pad on the trackpad at the press of a button. I'm still getting used to my new laptop so any tutorials you could suggest I would very much appreciate.
How comfortable would this laptop be for extensive typing? Like for eg. coding? The fact that there is no palmrest does seem like a con to me. Your experience please?
Thanks for the awesome review. As for the stylus pen - from what I've seen on Amazon for this laptop, the i7 version comes with the Laptop Sleeve, Laptop Stand, & Stylus pen. The i5 version doesn't come with all those goodies - I assume to help keep the cost down. The Amazon listing has a "What's in the box" section that lists all that and I noticed the difference when comparing the versions.
You know, in the statement, "they should just move the screen up 2 inches," Why not just get the larger version of the laptop? 14 inches is the sweet spot in laptops because they're still very portable. Eventually, they might use a curved screen like in smartphones, but with the current gap, my hands can fit more comfortably. I use the touchscreen on this laptop more than one without the screens, Perhaps because of the awkward keyboard and mouse placement. Everyone seems to complain about the keyboard placement, but most bluetooth keyboards don't have the palm rest either, so I find no issues using it. Just my two cents. Anyways, this was a thoughtful and entertaining video. Keep up the good work.
I got this about a week ago. Can't go back to a regular laptop. I love this thing. I use the second screen all the time. Also very fast for what I use it for as well as good battery life. It's just so cool!
This is a really lovely laptop. I love the I/O. I'll probably pursue it when I can get the 32GB version later on. Meanwhile, I liked your review, though I think that the main reason I wouldn't want the Pro version would be the need for the SD slot. I would also want to upgrade the SSD to 2 or 4TB after market, as all the software is available after the fact. I wouldn't change the track pad except for removing the physical buttons and removing the dead zone of the pad.
Those upgrades would make this thing a beast! Even as it is, it's the most productive laptop I've ever owned... and still has room to improve. Thanks for checking out the vid, Paul!

Only thing preventing me from buying this is the 1080p screen. Being used to 4k screen on my current Lenovo Yoga 920, which is also 14 inches, going down to 1080p is just a no-go. Why be proud of "paying full price" for anything? I bet you love buying shit like Balenciaga.
What is it with TH-cam presenters that have to refer to everything as "this little bad boy" - it's juvenile. I enjoyed this video, but at the umpteenth reference to the so-called "bad boy", I just changed video.
Your talking and talking about some imagenary laptop. We didn't need to hear that lol
FUNNY THAT THEY RELEASED THIS LAPTOP AND YOU CANNOT EVEN FIND IT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD !
Lmao why am i online looking everywhere and it’s nowhere.
Talk to much👎
Worst unboxing ever 😁
I'll get worse with time.
Hey don’t be mean man, he’s a kind one ❤️
@@premockery8696 i am not mean, just saying the truth
Gadammit. I forewent the previous model and the pro duo thinking they would put the numb pad on this one or the 15 version. Maybe next year.
they have a num pad in the form of the mouse-pad turning into it.
@@starabraham1790 not on these models. Its a numb pad that appears on the smaller screen as an option the Duo pro did have that capability though.
@@tookallyourmoney yeah the 15 version is the pro duo. Only the 14 doesn’t have it.
