So I just acquired a URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G1 last week and still learning a ton. Wow, this video was so helpful for me getting PGM working and Tally over to my viewfinder through a BiDirectional Micro Converter from my ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. Thank you!
**Also the G1 may technically be a legacy product, but there are a lot of them out there and a part 2 to go along with this video would be so valuable!
With the release of the G2 camera BMD will not be updating this camera since it is a legacy product now. As such, don't expect to ever see the multi-channel audio feature added. BMD has had a history of promising things and never delivering on them such as the Ursa turret.
very helpful video. thanks. I need to get 4k out to a Atomos Shogun. I know this is possible because I've done it before but now I cannot for the life of me figure out why it only shows up at HD in recorder when the settings in camera are 4k. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I know I'm using the full 4k SDI signal in the back of the camera.
In the menu, go to the monitor section. Choose main SDI from thed menu. On the second page of that menu in the lower left is the resolution setting. Choose 2160P. Hope that helps!
Hi, I would just like to know if the ursa mini pro g1 is still work it today? It is so much cheaper than buying a g2. A second hand g1 is almost half the prick as buying a g2
We have three. We use them every day. We love them. BIUT be mindful of the fact that in the event that you have a main board failure, BMD will NOT repair the G1 cameras and you will have an expensive boat anchor.
Curious if you know; when this camera is mounted on the Ronin 2, is there any way to access the menu with the touch screen LCD door closed? Otherwise it's a very narrow amount of space to get in there and mess around. Can these very important settings be changed via bluetooth or monitor or external controls?
The bluetooth app that BMD makes will control a few settings such as ISO, shutter angle, white balance, record, power on/off, media select, iris and the metadata slate. A third party app is available called "Bluetooth+ for Blackmagic" that does the following: - Record Start/Stop - White Balance, including 5 helpful presets and Auto White Balance - Green/Magenta Tint - Trigger Autofocus (for supported electronic lenses with autofocus enabled on lens) - Off-speed frame rates - Aperture (for supported electronic lenses) - Shutter Angle - ISO - Active Card - Power On/Off - Enter metadata in the Digital Slate (including location data from your iPhone or iPad if you give permission)
Thanks! So some features, but not all (things like adjusting SDI monitor info etc.). Hopefully they'll make that available in an update. @@PanDownTiltLeft
@@PanDownTiltLeft I find that I can't reach any info in original paper manuals about how to hook up ursa with viewfinder (front SDI busy) to SSD recorder rear ports and video assist same time? Maybe you know how, is it possible to use SSD Recorder or Assist as pass through device in 12 G SDI signal when capturing RAW?
@@PanDownTiltLeft so maybe some rear repeater splitter exists? I heard that in broadcasting to connect studio assist display and fiber optics convertor, them uses rear ports
Blackmagic should have something. But you might not be able to split that rear SDI as it does some non-standard stuff. So if anyone could make a splitter for it it's BMD :)
If you are looking for something specific about this camera make sure to check the index in the description.
