I must say you are the neighbour that everyone would have loved during COVID.
During our lives. I would purchase all my plants from her!
Lol☺️
This is absolutely amazing. No one has an excuse not to grow their own food
You have such a lovely, delightful presentation and admit to not being one of those snotty perfect fake gardening people plus you actually do it. I’m very impressed.
Thank you so much for being an inspiration to everyone who comes across this gem of a channel. Keep on shining, Cassandra.
Goodness, it is amazing what you are growing in those greenstalks! I can’t believe how full and lush they look already. Nice job Cassandra, you’re amazing.
I learn so much from every video - so glad people like you are willing to share and teach!
Aww, I'm so happy to pass along what's working for me in hopes that it'll help others! Appreciate you! Thanks for touring the garden!
Your videos are not only the BEST instructions for using a greenstalk I've found, & boy have I watched a lot of different ones, but they are such a pleasure to watch with your upbeat & positive personality! Thank you
Thanks for getting that fixed. I am 63 and thought it was something I was doing wrong! Love your channel.
This was a GREAT video...slow enough to actually see what you have planted! Thank you! And thank you for the guide too! You are the one that got me to ask for a GreenStalk for mother's day, which I got as a gift!
Cassandra, I am SO hyped for this video. I just purchased my first Green Stalk! I can't wait to watch this video and be inspired!
Hey lady! Congrats on becoming a Green Stalk gardener. Keep me posted on your progress. If you haven't already, you may enjoy some of the recommendations I share here: marvelous-thinker-7971.ck.page/56762927df
Dwarf Roses are genius! I would have never thought to try that. Thanks for sharing!
I have been fighting groundhogs and squirrels for the last 2 years and it gets discouraging so when I look at your videos its so inspiring I have 2 Green Stalks and about 8 raised beds but I just wanted to say thanks....
Yes…..she doesn’t deal with the animals that will devour your garden. I also live in zone 9 which brings the heat.
I have had good luck this year by putting lots of wooden toothpicks and barbecue skewers in my planters and garden. Squirrels don't like all the pointiness. Cinnamon and pepper also deter them. Bits of Irish Spring soap on skewers helps. This year, I'm just using loads of skewers, sticks and toothpicks. Anything pointy works including forks.
It's a simple thing. Set a trap for them and turn them to barbecue. That's simple
You were the reason I purchased my Greenstalk. I just harvest some spinach, cilantro, oregano. and thyme. Thank you for teaching and sharing! 🤍🤍
You are 💯% right you don't need lots of land and debt to grow food ! Am building 5 new aquaponics farms 🚜 right in my backyard in 5 new greenhouses going up soon all powered by solar your food forest is beautiful
Wow!
Good to see ya, sis! I'm always blown away at how much you grow on your deck!
Oh Cassandra I am impressed. Just beautiful. So proud of you. Take care and have a great week.
Donna! Lady, you encourage my heart so well! Thank you!!
You inspired me to jump into GreenStalk gardening last year. A first-timer at 57 y/o … made many mistakes but am hooked! Thanks for another great vertical growing vid.
Hey lady! It's so good to 'see' you! I'm so happy to hear you took (and are loving) the GreenStalk plunge! Thank you for the update!
I love it. I have 2 greenstalks that I purchased last year. My oldest son and his wife are buying their first home - a condo. He loves to cook. I told him he should think about greenstalks - he wants to grow peppers. I tried to talk my daughter into it. Right now, she is trying to grow flowers. She says I do not have a green thumb. Maybe in time, esp now that they have it in her color - pink.
Thank you for sharing the process, the amount of produce is remarkable 😮❤!
You have an awesome channel! I love my green stalks too. Using them creates so much free space in my raised beds. I’m an urban gardener and value the space I have.
Your gardening videos make me so happy. I now have a small garden in my backyard, growing vertically too.
No one (that I’m aware of) has a full video is dismantling and refreshing - that would be a good one to share! Thx for all of your tips and tricks a very inspiring! 🙂
Love this idea! I'll work on that!
@rootsandrefugefarm does. There's a couple on container gardening and details about soil health explained really well
I just saw your video pop up on my feed and I squealed 😂
Love you girl!
You should totally start a strawberry tower!
I've been on the fence about getting a green stalk or not but I'm finally there. Thanks for the video. Happy growing 💜
.I grow lots of things in 5 gallon food grade pickle buckets that a friend who works at a restaurant saved me. Just drill drain holes in the bottom of the buckets and they are perfect to grow tomatoes, squash, zucchini , or anything youd grow in square foot gardening. Grow bags are also a great option for deck , porch , terrace or rooftop gardening , I have successfully grown potatoes and sweet potatoes in them. Sweet potato leaves are great sautéd o slow cooked like greens or in salads when young and tender. I also have potted fig , meyer lemon and key lime trees that produce fruit in zone 7
You have a beautiful soul ❤️.
You have truly inspired me...and I just used your code to start to vertical planters...if not this year...definitely for next season...right now...I have that deck garden...tomatoes, peppers and three okra plants...but I believe all of this would have been better suited for the system you have introduced...since I have 3d printers I think I can print the supports I need....and I love your enthusiasm and bubbly personality...you remind me a lot of my late Wife...she had a lot of energy...me not so much...now I need to watch that video you made on storing premade meals...thanks...
Those are gorgeous Cassandra. I bit the bullet bought two hydroponic garden sets for my city apartment. You got to start somewhere but I got some container seeds from Renee's. Thanks for being consistent in educating us.
Hey lady! Wait, you went hydroponic?! I'm so curious about those videos when I watch them. What's your experience been like so far? What brand did you go with?
I have to say you totally inspired me! It is so hot and dry here I am trying your method. I have filled my many pots up with dirt and will start planting them. More shade and much cooler on my porch. I think it just about too hot out in the bright sun! Thank you so much!
I’m just starting mine & I’m using the 5 gallon bucket now I’m going to check this out 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
“Intermediate gardener” pshh!!😂 gurllllll ur a genius gardener already!! I’m going on two decades of gardening and I can tell you when I was “intermediate” I was nowhere near you!! By the time you have a farm it will all be second nature and u can have the time to learn your animals!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 So smart. Also - gardening in pots in my opinion is much more difficult bc u don’t have the forgiving ground soil when u mess up!! Lol. Very very impressive!! ✨👏🏼✨👏🏼✨👏🏼✨👏🏼🌱🌱🌱🌱❣️
Awww, this is incredibly kind of you!!! And yes, you're on to my "master plan" (which is to slowly build homesteading skills I can leverage on our small homestead one day). For the very reason you named (heck, even a few more), I too learned that gardening in pots isn't ideal for everyone. Your message was too encouraging!!! Thank you!!
You are my new BFF 😂😂❤. Watching from Liberia, West Africa. Great work sis. I used to watch you when I was in America.
Your green stalks look fantastic! Thank you for sharing Cassandra ❤

I tried to get the planting guide but am so confused with the having to set up with convertkit. I'm not a creator, so I just backed out. Thanks for all you do for us, Cassandra.
@@dberger1010 I had the same experience
Something wrong with link...
I wasn't able to download it after using the link and signing up. I've tried multiple times on different days.

Greetings Cassandra!!! You have inspired me a ton! I just received my GreenStalk planter in Pink! My favorite color! I’m excited and a little nervous at the same time.
I live in Phoenix Arizona and my balcony faces West. So I’m a little skeptical on what to plant that won’t shrivel up and die in a 118 degree weather!!! Hot😮
May anyone of please share pointer tips on what plant in Arizona hot weather 😢😅
@Cassandra! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR DREAM WITH US ALL. You are heaven sent and inspiring others to turn Dreams into reality ❤
All I can say is WOW!!! I absolutely love your garden! Thank you for showing it off and inspiring me! ❤ I have been eyeballing a greenstalk for a bit and this really is making a great case for me to get one. yay!
So full of information! Thank you.
You are very welcomed sweet friend!
You rock, thanks for the encouragement.
You are my hero!
I always grow flowers on my top rows. I never thought of mini rises. Brilliant!
I have so enjoyed the mini roses! I'm telling you, given the dwarf varieties available now, I don't feel like my garden is missing out on growing "what the big gardens" can! Those roses really are stunning.
You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! ✨💖✨
I'm certain you're amazing too! Glad I could help in some way!
I love my greenstalk, thanks so much for introducing it to us. Salad in the evenings is so easy now. Got a second one that we are going to stack with even more greens this summer as the first has been taken over with the fruiting veggies. Have found that spraying the bottom tier with cayanne and lemon juice keeps away the ants and slugs much better than nothing. Now if I could find a great way to keep out the squirrels and hedge hog. Gave up the bottom teir to sacrificial kale that they seem to munch down to nothing but at least they leave the rest alone now.
Thank you so much for the tour and the pictures to give us an idea of what to do!💙
This video was so helpful! Thanks, Cassandra.
Okay now I need to up my game with my greenstalks. Yours are beautiful. 😊
Haha, hello fellow GreenStalk gardener! Yes--there is so much you can grow in a GreenStalk. Happy gardening!
Beautiful!
You grow sis, beautiful😍
I look forward to your videos all the time.Thank you
Aww, thank you sweet friend!
I just refreshed all my Greenstalk tiers today and loaded them all up with lettuces, flowers and herbs. I never thought of “pocket-sharing” … that’s game changing. Do you direct sow or seed starts in plugs? Absolutely beautiful food forest! I’m setting up my 2nd one this weekend, and now so inspired to add vines and deeper and taller growing veg!
I love the way you still plant even tho you dont have a back yard love it . Am a planter as well. I just wanted to tell you those are not jalapeño peppers those are banana peppers!! But love it still!!😊
We have scallions growing everywhere because they came in the food bank box
Another great post Cassandra. You’re such an inspiration and have so much knowledge to share. Thank you 😊❤
Aww, thank you so much friend. This feels like you are giving me waaay more credit than I deserve, but I am happy to pass along what I'm learning and what works for me with others! Happy Gardening!
I have some raised beds in my little front yard. No patio to set anything on but with the beds and some containers it is working. Every little bit helps!
Oh man! This video gives me the major gimme-gimme-want-wants! How exciting! I’m loving this!
Never even fathomed that things like broccoli and cabbage can be grown in the GreenStalk!
I’m not sure if you (or your followers) know. But marigolds are actually great for detouring such pesky summer insects like mosquitos and no-see’ems. Learned it from one of my octogenarian clients that would cover his camp deck with pots and pots of them. He would deadhead them and gift them at Christmas time. ❤
I had no ideas about the benefits of marigold! Thanks for taking the time to share this with me and others. And yes, there's hardly anything I wouldn't grow in a GreenStalk!
Your greenstalks are beautiful!!!❤❤❤
Awww, thank you so much!
Great healthy garden! I'll have to try the vertical garden! One tip I saw on Utube, once u behead ur roses take those heads and plant them upside down (where the rose grew down in the dirt) and u'll soon have new rose plants! You got a good green thumb, let us know how it went! Thanks for the tips! ❤
Wait, what? I'll have to try that-thanks for sharing. I'm glad you think I have a green thumb-lol. Vertical planting certainly gives you an advantage when it comes to dealing with fewer pests and actually being able to more easily spot check your garden- I don't know where I'd be without them!
You convinced me to get a Greenstalk 😊 I received one for Mother’s Day and I’m in the process of setting it up.
You are very industrious!
Thanks for a fantastic video. I always learn from you.
You are so dang cute. My husband and I are seniors and are having to back off some from our "big" gardening. I've been keeping up with what we managed to get planted due to my husband's health issues. I'm not ready to quit gardening. The food is too good. This gives me hope that I can still keep growing good food as I age.
We are totally twinning with a different spin. What you are doing is such a blessing!
Lol, I love this!!!
You are a godsend! Thankyou so much for your knowledge.
Lovely! Thank you.
Wow
Amazing
You are amazing. God bless you.
Aww, I appreciate the encouragement. May the good Lord bless you and yours too!
Thank you!!! This reference diagram is great! 👍🏾
Excellent video 🎉 Thank you ❤
Until you grow some food, you’ll never know how much better they taste than what you buy at the store.
There's nothing nicer than home grown fresh picked veg. Loved your tour.
Awesome ❤
I'm impressed of your garden. 🌱🌿🥰 So much interesting kinds of plants! 🥬Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏻
Awww, thank you for such kind words. Each season I continue to be amazed at what you can plant in GreenStalk planters. They are truly an answered prayer to those of us growing without land or in small spaces.
I absolutely love how full, diverse and organized your greenstalks are 👩🏿🌾 Thanks for sharing your vertical gardening in small spaces and Happy Gardening Comrade!
Absolutely, beautiful!! - Your garden is amazing ✨❤✨
Love the brite color it brings out the sunshine in your personality . Thanks for showing us your garden .
So beautiful!❤
I bought three 5 tiers during Greenstalks Mothers Day sale and I’m having so much fun with them.
This was a great video thank you!! Cant wait until your june pantry chat guide is available! Thank you Cass! You have so inspired me! I have 8 greenstalks and just waiting to find a place to use them...none of my balconies have any sun...or real room for one..😢 apartment steading soon ..
You rock it girl. Your videos just keep getting better.
Awww, this is incredibly kind of you to say. I truly appreciate this encouragement!
Wow, I can't believe you can grow cabbage in a greenstalk. Your stalk is so lush and beautiful.❤😊😮
Your def not beginner anymore
She said intermediary in the beginning but you're right she has leveled up 🎉🎉🎉
Lol, this is too funny. I think its because my gardening routine still feels pretty simple and I don't have a super technical way of explaining amounts or what I do other than I follow "guiding principals" like ensuring that I routinely add organic matter (kitchen scraps and worm castings) and I've found success with interplanting and sticking with mostly compact crops in my planters. After several seasons I also feel like I know what works best on certain levels of my planters. I feel like I have a good routine with my GreenStalk planters but I'll still need to build confidence with in-ground gardening. I do take your comment as a compliment, so, thank you!
keeping it simple is best. You are planting things, I never dreamed would fit. Where do you get the small cabbage seeds?
@@BecomingaFarmGirlI feel like above ground is best only because you have more control of what goes in the soil and its current makeup but I do get that when you want to expand or have larger crops it must go in ground
@@BecomingaFarmGirl do you have guides for the summer or fall or winter? Thank you for the spring planter 😄
you are amazing !!
This is just beautiful!
Aww, thank you!!!
I've just had mine for a year, I put them away in Rubbermaid garbage cans for the winter. I did have to take the dirt out of most of them to stack them tightly enough to fit but not all of them. I think that will still work for the perennials. I have been working hard to keep them from getting too dry during the heat and killing off the seedlings. I was actually thinking TODAY, I wonder how Cassandra did this, if she used starts and not direct sow the seeds? And here you already made me a video telling us all about it! Thanks!
I love the Lantana, I was just admiring that at a garden center yesterday. I have Borage and Nasturtium in the tops as well as carrots.
This was very inspiring! I think I’m about to take a leap of faith! 😂 thank you for all the info. 💜
You're very welcome my friend!
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you enjoyed it!!
I need more content! Love your approachability to this. Would love to try this but get intimidated by timelines of year. Do you have any videos on your fertilizer or worm casting process? Would also want more details about what you did with those wintered plants after you took them out of your vertical planter!
Awesome use of space!!
Yes Robert all three segments were great
Outstanding!
Thank you kindly!
Girl, you are a boss from wine to iodine.
Beautiful. I love it
Thank you for this video. I did get one green stalk garden as a Christmas present from my husband and the seeds I started in it are doing great. I purchased a second one and not as much success. Your video and the attached guide are so helpful to let me know how to tweak what I am doing! Thank you so much and happy Gardening!!
Thank you so much for a wonderful video and thanks for sharing. Great content to encourage us to grow wherever we are even if it’s a small deck. I do agree with you. I have seven green stocks myself and I do grow a lot of stuff in them and they are just wonderful. My oldest green stock is about six years old and still looks great and works great. They’re a little on the pricey side, but I’m looking at it for long-term. This is something that I’ll have for years to come and I don’t need any maintenance on them, they’re easier for me to pick and I am 77 years old and I love them
Omg I did the same thing for years using grow bags and containers all with success. However taking a lot of space and hard work watering in my apartment. Moving forward with planting I’m taking your advice thanks. 🙏🏽👑
I have battled with starting seeds in my Greenstalks.leaving them unstable is a great idea. That is one way to water more easily without washing the seeds down to the middle. Thanks for all the great info.
Oh this is the part of the year that my heart aches. The only things thriving in my garden are okra and black eyed peas. We still have a few tomatoes ripening on the plants, but the heat is making the new buds infertile. I loved seeing all you can growing and can't wait for 80 degree weather to return so I can get my green stalks back up and running.
All I can say is WOW!!! I am the old you with the buckets and bags and raised beds with fruit trees in a container. I must check this out. ❤
Very cool variety in your planters! I was the same; I resisted the greenstalk when I first saw it and I just got my first one and it is 100% worth it. It's designed very well and holds A LOT of soil for the space. I love how lettuces stay clean without dirt splashing up on the leaves.
EXCELLENT 😇👍🏾
