Zant was already insane from the very beginning, he was just keeping a calm facade. But as Link and Midna unraveled his plans, the facade began to crack as he began to get desperate. Eventually by the time Link fights him, Zant's lost all reason and is just hitting Link with everything he's got.
Al0neStillAlive Yeah I liked Zant better as he was here. I was never this intimidated to fight someone in a Zelda game as him. Meeting him for the last time was a little weird. I wasn't really feeling any tension from it. He was just so weird I wouldn't react any other way other than "what the hell?".
That's the point. Zant is supposed to be this tryhard. He never really worked for his power, he whined and begged for it, and his demeanor here is just his way of trying to be like Ganon. The problem is he is nothing like Ganon.
What goes on in Zant's mind here: So. You don't like Twilight, Midna? Okay then. How about you take a Light Spirit to the face and see how you like that? Oh, and your friend there is a wolf now. Yeah. I just did that. What now biatch?
There's a subtle reference to LOZ: Majora's Mask in this cutscene: Zant transforms Human Link into Wolf Link via a curse the same way the Skull Kid uses the power of Majora's Mask to curse Young Link into Deku Link. To remove the curses, an object has to be obtained. In the case of Zant, the Master Sword is needed; for Majora's Mask, the Ocarina of Time and the Song of Healing is needed. Once the curses have been broken, one obtains items that can transform the Human Links into their prior cursed forms at will!

We sealed away the great magic those individuals had mastered." - Lanayru Ehhhh, I'm seriously not sure about that, just referring to the quotes alone, especially that of Zant. We see all of the links to the Sheikah in the Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time, and the general theme of the Twili is just too hard to overlook. I think there were wanderers and they, as they developed into tribes over time, were punished for abuses of power, maybe, or perhaps that's how the Sheikah disappeared, but I definitely see a link.... No pun intended. ;) About the only other theory that holds weight is that they were Gerudo, based on the symbols on Zant's costume. And in all honesty, I think, interestingly enough, the Gerudo and the Sheikah may have had a closer genetic link than what we typically consider. Look at their physical attributes. That would explain the branch off between the 'band of thieves' and the loyal followers to some degree, regarding that in many instances, we see that not only do the *actual* Sheikah slightly resemble Gerudo (think Impa), but throughout some instances, we see a lot of that same power residing within the hands between the two tribes, not to mention that Breath of the Wild REALLY plays with this theory when it comes to the Sheikah tribe of Karusa, and the mention of the Sheikah exile that spread them across the lands, lending them adaptation to different lifestyles. Plus.... I can't overlook Kohga's behavior as being similarly childish like Zant's when we see how ridiculous Zant can actually be... Lol. Also, forgive the odd formatting of my reply. For some reason, it's not letting me add paragraph breaks, which is profoundly annoying.
@@GeneralKenobi75 There's this interesting tidbit here as well that I think holds some value in the debate. "Some fans go as far to say that the Sheikah are the Interlopers from whom the Twili are descended; being so close to the Royal Family of Hyrule, they would know much of the Triforce. Both the Interlopers and the Sheikah have red eyes and both are dark magic practitioners. Another clue to this is the Sheikah symbol carved onto the back of the Fused Shadows. However, the presence of Impaz and the fact that the Sheikah protected the Hylian royalty would seem to contradict this and thus make it improbable for the two to be the one and same, but the term "interlopers" may suggest that a group of Sheikah interfered with the loyal Sheikah, whose duty it was to protect the royal family, and wiped them out to get to the Triforce. However, some theorize that the Sheikah and the Twili are the same race, but had a feud. One side could have wished to protect the Triforce, while the other side wanted to steal and harvest its power. This feud would have put the original race into two different sides, Sheikah and Twili. Twili also could have used their dark magic for more selfish or evil tasks than Sheikah. In the Ocarina of Time manga, it is told that the Sheikah symbol was altered with a tear because the tribe was betrayed by the Royal family. It is possible the Sheikah, with their knowledge of the Sacred Realm, in fact actually betrayed the Royal family and triggered the Hyrulean Civil war by attempting to reach the Triforce. The Interlopers might have been rebellious Sheikah. This would explain why in the Ocarina of Time, the tribe is said to be nearly extinct : the traitors were killed or banished into the Twilight Realm, and only the loyal ones survived, with an altered eye with a tear as a symbol. It is interesting to notice that Agahnim has an eye symbol similar to the Sheikah's. This hypothesis makes the Twili actual Sheikah descendants. "
@@dagansgamingbox6604 It could either be the Sheikah or the Gerudo considering neither are to be found in this game. Though Sheikah is more likely since there are male Twili other than Zant.
I did never get what happend on 3:25 onwards. So Zant removes the twilight world to get the light and Ranelle back. Then Ranelle comes back and is kinda forced to harm Midna with his light force (that is why Midna is so weak afterwords). But in the same time Ranelle teleports himself Link and Midna away from Zant, right?
Who the hell is Ranelle? Are you talking about Lanayru? Are you making up new random names for the light spirits and assuming everyone else knows what random names you are using?
I always assumed it may because of the fact that Ganon gave part of his power to Zant so he can have him act in his favor. While that power is dark, it still comes from the triforce of power. The triforce itself is ultimately a holy creation of Hyrule's goddesses and an object holding a lot of light based power. So that could explain it. He's using a part of Ganon's power from a part of the triforce.
I literally almost cried while watching midna almost died I know it was just a game but I hate when someone on cartoons or games get hurt and I was soo pissed at Zant after he did that to Midna

Wolf Link getting hit in the head by the shadow shard almost looks like he was dead at least he was just unconscious and Zant looks like he's a Vampire underneath his mask. Poor Midna thank goodness Wolf Link saved her before she died.
It was the light spirit. I think it did so because it never meant for its power of light to be used by Zant against Midna like it was, so it sent them as close to Hyrule castle as it could get them in order to try and help Midna how it could and make sure she would be saved before it was too late.
