Clear explanation sir....The way you explained using different colours and hybridized and unhybridized orbitals overlapping is vivid.....
I always confused why we call hybrid orbitals SP2, always remembered it with valency but now FINALLY understood the merging part. Ty so much!!!!

You MUST leave one “p” orbital UNhybridized to make the Pi bond (the second bond between the two C’s)
