My wife and I saw him on our first trip to Las Vegas in the early 1970’s. Back when they had actual lounge acts. He was so good I ran out and bought all of his records. Amazing voice!
Rarely does a song. Any song. Send chills up my spine like this song does. I'm 70 years old. It sent chills up my spine when I first heard it on the radio and still does this to this day. Little Anthony isn't so little. I can't imagine anyone else singing this song so that it almost permeates out of his pores. If I witnessed him singing this to his girl then I'd fall to my knees and cry like a baby. Who says there's no power in music? Have you ever asked (begged) a girl to stay and she didn't? Case closed. With a life time of regret.
I'm 73. I still remember his performance on Ed Sullivan. The song is haunting. It reminds us of our heartbreaks in our teens and 20's. Did I have one girl who I loved but she never felt quite the same way? Of course I did.
No auto tune , no drum machine and look at how people dressed with class ! These guys were a little before my time ,but my old man would play the hell out of that 8 track .
This is the real deal, no auto tune, no smoke and mirrors or 20 dancers to distract from the TRUE performance, Just genuine raw talent, something we wont see from todays so called pop stars anytime soon if ever...........................

I know exactly how you feel. One day I woke up and it hit me. I'm the oldest living member of my family. Everyone I grew up with is gone. The memories are pleasant but painful!

I saw them in the early 70's in a small concert hall while I was in college. Needless to say, they were outstanding! While they were performing, the electrical power to their equipment went out and they didn't miss a beat. Just kept on singing and Anthony jumped down off the stage, walking up and down the aisles until the power came back on. It was so perfect, it seemed like it was planned. Wonderful a performer and gentleman. He radiated warmth and love. I still remember it was like yesterday. As a matter of fact, I still have his album that I bought new.

Had the very great privilege of meeting Little Anthony backstage in mid 70's. He had beautiful lime green tux trimmed in yellow. I addressed him as " little Anthony" ...he said " oh, you don't have to call me little honey, you can just call me Anthony". We visited and it was such a big treat. He was so humble and personable. He signed my autograph book ( and he didn't usually give autographs because he didn't leave stage to do so. ) great time in my life. 🎶💫🎶

And he’s singing live with an orchestra behind him. This means he has to project his voice high and loud over a distance. It’s a very hard thing to do. He has great talent
@@Stand663 This is live singing, but it could be the backing track (note the backup singers have no mic). Amazingly, the backing track or orchestra starts to slow in the first bar, then speeds up and Little Anthony doesn't miss a bit.
