- "My Girl" is a soul music song recorded by the Temptations for the Gordy (Motown) record label. ... the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or artistically significant" - - - - "Get Ready" is a Motown song written by Smokey Robinson, which resulted in two hit records for the label: a U.S. No. 29 version by The Temptations in 1966, and a U.S. No. 4 version by Rare Earth in 1970. It is significant for being the last song Robinson wrote and produced for the Temptations, due to a deal Berry Gordy made with Norman Whitfield, that if "Get Ready" did not meet with the expected degree of success, then Whitfield's song, "Ain't Too Proud to Beg", would get the next release, which resulted in Whitfield more or less replacing Robinson as the group's producer.
I truly believe that if people were forced to listen to this type of music for a month, that alone would help to make this world a better place.

When I was young, before cell phones, my parents listened to the news at night, but during the day they lived locally, were focused on family and friends, and doing things. Church, clubs, social interaction, PTA, gardening, talking, courting, listening to music and making music....living.
Now, the phone and its aps rule us, we are focused on ourselves, we are meaner, uneasy, our government lies to us, and we worship our cultural icons. You get what you strive for.@@mikeh6511

Beautiful music motown if i could go back in a time machine i would go tomorrow happy days of music of yesterday year i have loved motown since the 70s and still do brilliant music we were so blessed to have fantastic artists of that era of the 60s 70s we will never have that kind of music again sadly the songs had meaning you could feel the music im 66 i remember being at college in the 70s when we had a disco at the college the Dj played motown that was 1975 i was 17 than best years of my life i loved being at college i was studying hairdressering but we had fun back than brilliant times the 70s was a fantastic time of music fashion and easy life less stressful than today

I was born in 1971, and in the mid-80s in High School, me and my friends were singing the Temptations and the Four Tops. I spotted Levi Stubbs singing in the movie "Little Shop of Horrors!" I remember Motown at 25 in 1987 on TV. That was some fun! Nothing like it since!

Mr Eddie Kendrick's self assurance of style is on point; Mr Paul William's ideas, creativity, passion and action shows forth so beautifully in his choreography and dance routines; Mr Otis Williams is much adored for having substance and he is and was the brains and backbone of The Temptations and last but not least, Mr Melvin Franklin was so unique. This is very rare indeed. The whole 9 yards, musical instruments, live dancing and choreography. I actually showed it in class for a lesson. It should be preserved in history.

In June 1968, the Temptations agreed that Ruffin had finally crossed the line when he missed a June 22 Cleveland, Ohio, date with the Temptations in order to attend a performance by his new girlfriend, Barbara Gail Martin (Dean Martin's daughter).
Five days later Ruffin was fired. He was replaced by Dennis Edwards, who had been a member of the Contours. Now that he was no longer wanted, Ruffin began to turn up at shows unannounced. When the Temptations would begin a song that Ruffin had sung lead on, he would walk out onto the stage and take the mic from Edwards. The fans loved it. The Temptations hated it. Still, the group decided to give Ruffin a second chance. He showed up late for what was supposed to be his comeback show in Gaithersburg, MD, and that was the end of that.

And mad choreography from Cholly Atkins! The Swag of David Ruffin can't be ignored and Eddie was rumored to be the Man (to the ladies). A magical, fabulous time and thankfully these old clips are proof of that!
