Best childhood memories. As the racing track slowly builds up it's beauty, at the beginning you're just lurking at low speeds and than when you reach the snowy part you just pedal to the metal. The interactive music was awesome too, so if you didn't do mistakes while driving the music was changed exactly to the "mood" - flawless.
This seemed like the LONGEST TRACK IN THE WORLD, but it is not, you just have to drive slowly so it seems like a 2-hour circuit. Cannot deny this being a great track to race on

HAHAHA, that racetrack was such a pain! The main rule to win this map was drive slow. That crashed plane scene was always awkward. I loved the road with the gates and bells - it felt so wintery and fresh! Wondered why road would have stone gate with the bell above it, but who cares as long as it makes you wonder! The purple-white tunnel was strange - I guess Ice tunnel that self-illuminates? LOL
NFS game idea: What if they made a game that had all the best old tracks and soundtracks, remastered. And put in many, many cars from all the era's new and old? Have Knockout races, Hot Pursuit and other race types. Maybe call it NFS Generations?
I would officially pay a good deal of hard earned money for a game with the music, tracks, gamemodes, and cars of the early NFS games, especially 2 and 3. Combine that with a few new cars, and better customizeability, and I'd pay a very large amount of money for that game... Granted, I'd do anything for the old days when buying a game meant buying a GAME, and not just access to an online store with game elements....

I dont think this is accurate tho. As Nathaniel said, PS was 5 miles but i simply cant believe PS is longer than this one. North Country has lots of u-bends so if you uncoil them it might seem bigger...
I can see it. Pacific Spirit has a decent amount of long straightaways that could make it physically longer. North Country and especially Mystic Peaks have so many twists and loops that controlling speed and handling is everything which tends to make it longer to finish a single lap
@zonda01 - I believe that the official song versions are from 2 SE, which I have. These(maybe from the original NFS2) are just as cool! MAN I love this game! For me it's the all time best NFS, period. Thanks for this upload, and the other ones!

All comes down to different arrangements for the game itself and the CD. After all, the music is interactive, the guys who wrote it thought of that, and made them longer for the game. For the official CD, they kinda remixed the song pieces, so that they're more dynamic to listen to without the person playing the game... That's what I believe to have happened, and thus there are two length versions of the songs. Cheers!
