The most suspicious thing about the Falcon Heavy/Tesla Roadster video is the view of the Earth shown here. We were shown this view almost immediately after the FH achieved orbit. However, the video shows the entire earth from a distance *MUCH* higher than low earth orbit of a few hundred miles. The view of the Earth is consistent with an altitude of many thousands of miles - not a few hundred. Some may claim that this is due to the use of an extreme wide-angle lens with > 180 deg FOV, but that is clearly not the case because the Tesla Roadster in the foreground shows none of the optical effects of such a lens. Reaching an altitude of roughly 10,000 miles in such a short period of time seems extremely unlikely even with the low mass of the Falcon Heavy payload. Something is very wrong with the time sequence of the video images that were shown to us. I'm about 99% sure that the Falcon Heavy launch was embellished with *some* pre-prepared CGI images for PR purposes.

Too much brightness coming from object of interest demands low aperture in camera. Light from stars is too dim. You can not have both. Try taking a picture of a bright object with a starry night as background with your cellphone to get the same result.

The significance of these questions is that the image of the Earth the CAR'S CAMERA gives us, is a WHOLE EARTH IMAGE and is a ground-breaking first! NASA have never produced images like this. The time-line and telemetry is crucial here - how long after launch was this video shot, and at what altitude?
Exactly. Apparently, satellites (of which there are approximately 1600) don't carry the correct camera or lens to get a whole-Earth image. So how come SpaceX got it SO right, first time of asking.......? Is NASA really that inept?

@Stevanvel The stars are dim relative to the earth, so you would actually need a long exposure to see the stars. If you took a picture with long exposure, the earth would look like a white ball. The best we can do is a composite image. First, you take one of proper exposure of the earth, then you take a long exposure of the stars and you paste the earth of the first image over the second one.

The car is at an angle that is causing the sun to reflect off of it. The body of the car isn't flat, thus two places on the car are getting hit by sunlight but are at different angles.

Jpm King have you ever seen a light reflect off of two curved angles? When you shine a light at the correct angles of two curved pieces of reflective material, they will reflect from the vantage point they are at, thus, it gives the illusion of two lights. It's basic 3D geometry, you can actually go experiment with this on your own, it's a reproducible phenomenon.
