@@teresabosworth1481 He tried, more than once. Whatever had happened earlier in his life caused an awful lot of damage, leaving him with no self confidence or self esteem. He never loved himself as others loved him and never thought he was worthy of anything. Breaks my heart that he suffered so much, yet put on a brave face at showtime, as that's where he felt free.

@@kingwilly8041 Well said, and basically the truth . They showed up in my neck of the woods in Sept. Of 88' and they just weren't the same band that I had seen in 83' - I wish someone would do an interview with Pete Willis and get the real story on what happened when things fell apart during the recording of Pyromania. I have heard bits and pieces that Mutt Lange was responsible for pushing Pete out because Pete was against the commercialization and pop sound direction the band was heading in and that the raging alcoholic excuse to boot Pete was bullshit because Pete wasnt drinking anymore or any less than he had been since 10th grade.

This puts tears in my eyes. Rip Def Lep all you want, but this guy was the Jimmy Page of the 1980s. Such a melodic, soulful and powerful legend. His notes were always chosen and played from the heart. And what a terrific showman. He lived for nothing other than his music. This band died when he died, as far as I'm concerned. @@karenglenn6707 I feel sorry for me too for all of America he scares me for so many reasons but 1 he's war hungry. When I first heard he was running for president I thought it was a joke everyone did!!!! Then when he actually got elected I worried about what kind of people live in this country. I'm SO jelouse of you Australia is just beautiful so much to see so many cool things to do. Your animals are also so cool. Yes I wish I had a time machine. To go back and experience all the wonderful music and the cool behind the scenes stuff yes I forgot too local bands were awesome to go see. I also feel like friendships were deeper then too. Then to also warn America about Trump and give my family a chance to move to another country before it happens. Whats going on there with the virus did you and do you guys have a lot of people that got ill and did a lot of people die? Is everything there closed or only partially opened? Is everyone wearing a mask? We have a cerfew of 8pm. We had a cerfew then it got lifted then got put back because honestly nothing changed. I wondered why they were lifting the cerfew when nothing had gotten better but I think the strain of some people being out of a job plus going crazy at home was the reason for the brief lifting of the cerfew. Then I think the numbers went up so back to cerfew again. 4 of my relatives got the virus they all live in NY but they just stayed at home and recovered. I hope you are well and if you are on some kind of cerfew that your finding stuff to keep busy. Like watching sexy steamin Steve Clark play his gutair like that's what he was meant to do.

@@kathryndogoloff5297 We've been relatively lucky here. Our government brought in changes immediately, and the whole country has a death toll of 110, It's been terrifying, seeing all of the deaths in Italy, Spain, the UK and the US. Your president did not act quickly enough or do enough from the start. We have been in lockdown for a couple of months, schools were all closed and many shops etc. Some states have closed their borders but I live in Victoria and we didn't. But no international flights, people unable to visit elderly relatives in nursing homes, and only 10 people allowed at funerals, which has been devastating for so many families. I live in a country town called Castlemaine, and we are lucky in that our local police (where I used to work) were not going out looking for people who were breaking the lockdown. So I got to see my mum, sister and aunties, all separately. I have Lupus so had to wear a mask from the start as I take immunosupressants but very few cases in our town and no deaths thankfully. And it is a beautiful place to live, we are so lucky in this country.

Steve Clark bought my Gibson SG on consignment at Guitars ETC. in Tucson, Arizona when they were on tour. Sadly, I wasn't there and tragically he had left us within a year. According to my friend who actually sold it to him, he said "Steve and someone who had Steve's credit card walked in to the shop and Steve just went, 'I'll have that one, that one, and that one.'" And "one," of those was my crap SG that I had bought used in Phoenix a year earlier at Bizarre Guitar. It was beat up and had been broken at the neck then fixed. I was really surprised. It's the closest I'll ever get in my life to being "near," a true rock legend. I think my asking price was like $180.00.
I can't help wonder what it may be worth now.
I also can't help dreaming that before he moved on, he rocked that old broom. What a titan.
