LOL I carry 3 sets of pinch off tools 1 imperial and 2 vice-grip, I never thought of using them to replace a welded peanut. What a time saver, without looking like a hack. SMH. THANK YOU! I hate everything about a swivel-T!
Work for tech support for a MFG, it’s nice seeing/hearing a tech that cares and has knowledge. Talking with these techs day to day doesn’t have any idea or understanding of basic refrigeration, so it’s definitely nice seeing this
I have the yellow jacket version of the imperial. Works awesome. Use it with r290 units and for psi controls on te self contained reach ins that I wor on. Good stuff Rick.
Been watching for years and this never gets old, always learning. Thank you for your hard work, Yourself and others that post content have changed this industry also raising the bar for all new guys like myself. Thank you
Critically charged system uses vapor to harvest. Recover, repair and weigh in factory charge. Ice machine also runs higher fan cycle pressure to ensure full column, don’t recommend deviating from the factory settings on these units as they are pretty sensitive.
Rick what do you think the solution is to people not caring? Is it just the way it is or can company/union leadership or teachers do anything about it? Thankfully it hasn't been too much of an issue at the company I work for we are only a 4 service technician shop in small town (4k people) I always hear "if they paid more!" But fast food workers are getting paid better than ever and the service is 20 times worse now 😂 I fear it's just a general trend of society nowadays, alot of people don't care about work, being healthy, even maintaining the yard or vehicle they drive. People appreciate your videos and insight more than you know!
We were paid a percentage of what the company made originally when I first started here. We called it a commission base, but it was basically just a split of what the company billed, no incentive to sell anything differently than normal. Just do the work right or you ended up losing money when someone else had to go back and do it. The way it worked was we got paid better than traditional hourly rate. We just recently discontinued it after using it for 35 years, several people were stressed out when others came back in said the job wasn’t done correctly and then people lost money over it, then it caused animosity between the technicians. Every shop is having its issues right now. We’re still paid really well but now there’s no incentive to do it right.
Tied up doing a video review for a whole home battery back up system. Plus we haven’t had a lot of work that was worth showing, the two videos I have recorded are super long and it’s gonna take a long time to get them edited.
Been busy, I need to finish a review video then I can start my regular videos. There’s just not enough time in the day. I’ll get them going again as soon as possible
When I was working and came up behind someone else. I would go over and repair there repairs because they will bite you in the A$$. I was asked one time why am I doing that. I want the work to be 100%. I worked in a union shop and I never rat on a union brother.
I agree. Some make a honest mistake and some just don’t care. I’ll base my response on the persons attitude. Either way the customer doesn’t need to know more than it’s fixed now.

As always, all your commentary makes it possible for us to follow along, understand, and learn. Thank you.
Nice work. It’s called having pride in your workmanship. Wish more people would try it.
It’s a crazy concept I know 🤫😪

👍👍. I’ve also used it to clamp off the suction to verify the valves are bad on small compressors that don’t have suction stops.
@@HVACRSurvival that’s a great idea.

Nice little vid & nice little job as well ... Thx
I like to run a bead of silicone to bridge all the loops on the cap tubes. It keeps the loops separated from each other and from rubbing
I’ve done that too. It works great 👍 just takes time to dry.
Rick, I so much appreciate your work, you inspire me to do things better because of you !
Glad to hear it! Thanks Teddy!
next guy will come along and yell "what hack didn't put schrader cores on the pressure switches!!!!!".

Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Great Video. Thank you for sharing. May I ask, why this Ice machine have one dual pressure control and one single pressure control ?
I assume they just took what was on their truck and used it.
Great Video Rick. Do you just hand tight that pinch off tool, or u use pliers or any sort of tools to go all the way. Thanks.
Hand tight. You don’t want to over do it. It’s not sharp on the edge, it’s a rolled edge.
Manitowoc field book
Where you been Rick?

Where do you get your rose bud torch tip?
I have it listed in the tool description.
Why have the videos stopped ?
Been busy, I need to finish a review video then I can start my regular videos. There’s just not enough time in the day. I’ll get them going again as soon as possible
Do it right or do it twice. 👍
🇺🇸💪❄️👍 great vid thanks Rick
Thanks shine!
Are you Union? Does all HVAC guys travel state to state?
Non union, some travel but not usually, it would be more likely if your close to the state line.
@@HVACRSurvival didn't you go from Ohio to California? Lol
Only because I wanted to. I didn’t have to do it.
It's just an extended in harvest mode!
🤣
Yep it fully degrades defrosted. 🙂🤣👍
extended to the next ice age. 🤪
If it wasn't done badly then they wouldn't need you to come out :)
I think you only need one , headmaster or fan cycling otherwise they both gonna fight with each other
They use both.
