@@neko3darcherychannel125 2 years late but Laurence has nothing to do with Ebrietas. Ebrietas was found by the Choir, and the Choir was founded in the late days of the church, as well as Mensis. Laurence was already dead when the church split ^^ And the Choir is also affiliated to Byrgenwerth, they are part of the Church and also scholars who follow the methods of Master Willem (like Mensis does, in a different way, but both of these factions do terrible things). While Laurence was axed on the use of the old blood, so they really had different methods and ideas. Byrgenwerth is responsible for most of the inhumans experiments btw, like what they did to the denizens of the Fishing Hamlet (searching their skulls for eyes).
So Rom isn't a spider, but a heckin' chonker of a celestial caterpillar that's failed to make a kin cocoon, and Ebrietas was interrupted before her imaginal discs could fully form her body? Word.
I always assumed the blood starved beast had its back skin flayed off by the villagers, like how some of the other beasts are crucified. I love learning about all the little details in these games
Just watching this bit now, and a random thought occurred to me. We find the Bloodstarved Beast in a chapel. Could she have been a religious zealot, a nun, or the like, when she were human? People used to self-flagellate themselves, didn't they, so I just wondered if she has flayed skin because of this?!? I know that she (a nun, or whatever she was) has obviously transformed into the BSB, but what if this self-flagellation carried over through the beast transformation? Probably wrong, but everything is left up to interpretation in FS games, and just a random idea...
@@jacobapodaca2530 Thanks! 😀 It's funny how hearing one or two words can trigger an idea, a train of thought. That's what I love about FromSoft games - how is players are still pondering theories to this day. Hopefully soon we'll be doing that with Elden Ring!!! 🙏

Seeing that the Milkweed Rune was originally called the Seedbed - and noting that a lot of people see "HPL" hidden in the design, makes me think that rune might have been intended at least partially as a little in-joke. Lovecraft of course being the "seedbed" for the cosmic horror concepts in the game, concepts particularly exemplified by this rune.
Your channel is one of the best out there by far. Loving the attention to detail and the obviously high level or research and effort you put in to everything you do. Keep up the awesome work man, the quality speaks for itself
The thick coldblood thing makes sense because most of the times you can find it on hunter corpses, or corpses of people that died in tense situations (like the guy on the rafters in central yharnam)
*What if the Hunters Axe is stating a belief? Various NPCS have different views on the hunt and beasts. Moon scented hunters are constantly encouraged to kill beasts and not think about it like Gherman's early dialogue. Just speculation on my part thanks for the video. We are born from the lore, made men by the lore, undone by the lore
I always thought the same, the axe being a crude weapon could very well be the reflection of a crude belief in the hunt 'kill and don't think too much about it" , other starting gear would reflect other hunters achetypes just to get you "in the mood"
I just realized that the word Kirk is very similar to the Swedish for church, Kyrka! It’s likely it was adapted from English to Swedish and just stayed that way
Funny how I remember it being said that all other localizations were done from English rather than directly from Japanese, and still somehow Bloodstarved Beast's Finnish localization sounds less like English name and more like Japanese name.
I like how this localization team's goal seems to be to further obscure lore and content as much as possible for the player. Like the hint of the healing church workshop's existence just being removed altogether and the "third of umbilical cord" which doesn't even make sense in any relevant context.
Just want to say thank you, I had trouble getting into Bloodborne. I tried it every few months or so, got absolutely wrecked, and was kind of just thinking about giving up. I think I finally get the game now, and have made it past Vicar Amelia.
Awesome video as usual! But please choose less obnoxious and loud background music next time. It was difficult hearing what you were saying over the relentless din of choirs and bombast. 😅
The number "3°" on the Third Umbilical Cord may come from Third Eye, since It also has links to eye cords in Japanese, and we know eyes are Very comon Linked to Insight and superior beings on Bloodborne, also in real life hás a similar thing
So if the third in the Third Umbilical cord is for ordinal number, does the other cords (workshop, fake Josefka, and Ooden baby) have the names first, second and fourth in the original Japanese or I'm missing something? Like could you stablish a timeline using the cords?
@@LastProtagonist oh a pity. I theorised that there was three cords, the one from Queen Yahrnam, the one from the child of the Vilebloods and one from the Orphan of Kos. I hope you touch the difference in translation regarding Gehrman and his student, to see if it is Maria and what kind of relationship is described Between them in the game.
I've got mixed feelings on this game's localization. On one hand, "Kirkhammer" is a brilliant name that manages to retain the original's meaning. On the other hand, the "Molotov cocktails" should've just been called "firebombs" to avoid the asinine and completely pointless anachronism.
No me puedo creer que la versión en español latino sea más fiel al original que la yankee, hasta en estos casos irrespetan el material original japonés

That capture on Henryk when he turned around and gave you the old "swish, swish, death" 🤣

Yup, we should keep in mind that some of the item descriptions are from different point of view and so, possibly unreliable and biasied narrators.
