Plz make a sweeping vid. I'm struggling bro
Nik you're fantastic by the way 😄🤘
@@DavidNwokoye You're in the comments of around half of the videos I watch lol
no pinches in your solos???
That guitar center solo sounds too good it’s gotta be shittier than that
Fair enough
that was just playing the pentatonic with some bends backwards
Hahahaha! Don't worry let me play it for him, I'll show you in context most def
yeah not enough missed notes
blues is gay
Instructions unclear, I played with a minor, my court date is on Sunday....
This is underrated lol.
Lmao😱😂😱😂
Wtf dude
Whoa bro
Haha wtf
My favorite thing about this video was how Nik kept going in and out between his Russian accent and English
TJC Drums he’s faking it...?
He is russian? Based on his name i think he is serbian not russian
Just working on my English accent
Nik I'm so confused English isn't your strong part? What are you?! Kidding Lol it's good unless you're joking lol ps that new Ernie is sick as hell. It looks sleek on the frets.
*american accent
Ah yes. Nik nokturnal - My favourite educational Kmac channel.
More like the fpsRussia of guitar.
@@jc8178 I'd say more if Kmac + FpsRussia + Jared dines, had a child
@@jc8178 God, i miss FpsRussia
Sentenza who doesnt
Kmac is a legend
didn't get the instructions right, somehow i'm a bass player now
GG
Gracen Martini-Zeller I hate when that happens
Gracen Martini-Zeller instructions weren’t clear dick is stuck in a toaster send help
The sad part is that this is how so many become bassists. That’s why bassists tend to suck.
Nik: this is the basic solo
Nik: plays solo
Me: Fuuuuuuck
Dame right
I know right!
Just keep on it
"Hit some wrong notes, it'll sound jazzy."
Oh I've just been playing jazz this whole time.
69 likes gotta keep that
Oh who liked it it’s now on 70
A sweeping tutorial would be great
Stevie T's old tutorials are pretty adequate, was sweeping after a couple weeks of practice.
I second this
There ARE plenty of sweeping tutorials on YT, but I really like the way Nik teaches.
And not just cause of the accent.
@@Hafer_ don't say that name! i had to replace my eyes after last time watching him
@@gregtheflyingwhale6480 he's cringy but he knows his shit. He's one of the best guitarists on TH-cam today.
Pfft “Basic”. Oh man do I need to practice ._.
Lol pretty sure he meant not using any imagination, not actually “basic”.
@@myfavsandlikes7478 It's basic cuz its mostly fast pentatonics and all notes sound the same... so yeah. basic.. and don't worry... you do not need to practice a whole lot to get there... just give it time and in only a few years you can manage it... a few years is NOT a long time.
God You assume i don’t play guitar. LOL.
So true....
@@markokecman1177 few years is very much of a long time
i was expecting some meme after the intro... i got an educational video and now my solos aren't shit. thanks Nik
Thank YOU for watching! :D
same! thank you nik!
Makes Original content
Puts no AD on it
:O
A Guitar Hero from Rrossha
@@alejandroschingo5100 LOL
Ahhh so i haven't been playing shit, ive just been playing chromatically
Exactly
I see you learned from Lil Wayne, truly the best of the best.
He's beyond amazing
I can only hope to be as good as the great Lil Wayne......plays simple blues bend. Omg I did it😂😂😂😂😂
My guitar teacher always told me to never write a solo that you couldn't sing back to someone. The "creating melodies" tip you give feels like the most important tip for creating a memorable solo. It's the reason why I will go to my GRAVe insisting that the final solo from Octavarium is the greatest guitar solo ever.
The one person that disliked this plays the guitar center solo
On a bass
Using his legs
37 now
On a toy bass with only 3 string
I hate this. I got home from work all ready for sleep and now I'm super inspired to practice and write lmao. Epic
GG
Nik your English is getting so good!
Thank you!
@@NikNocturnal pozhaluysta!
Your actually russian
you’re such an amazing guitar player, one of the best out there
Thanks Patrick!
I live right above the guitar centre and I hear THAT EXACT solo at least 5 times a day
Can we get a "Let me show you in context" shirt?
Now I have to
@@NikNocturnal is it out yet 😂
@@NikNocturnal what about now
This video should have been uploaded during the Jared Dines contest! 😭
This is really helpful, with these videos I've learned how to improve my projects. Thank you so much Nik, you're the best!
Thanks Chino!
gawd I'm guilty of the guitar center solo , except crappier
Dude...this seriously just helped me a ton. Thank you! I'm trying to go from blues to more metal and shred style playing! Keep up the hard work man, it's appreciated!
I'm earlier than Nik covering a brand new song
:O
Tbh, this is the best tutorial on making a solo, going into depth on different techniques and how to make it sound good as a whole
"Don't play 16th notes the entire solo - leave space"
You know, sitting with a JP signature, you should know 32th notes the entire solo is the way to go
Underrated comment
I generally hate sweep picking, but a tutorial on mixing slides and sweeps together would be amazing.
What a fantastic tutorial! I will definitely add some of these tricks in to my playing!
Nik that was awesome! Great how you said that scales are just fancy bs for boundaries in a key. 🤘🤘🤘 your videos are great man.
Sometimes I can’t tell if Demitrov is teaching me or Nik.
Sorry, I'm working on my english accent
Thanks for this video man! You are an amazing guitar playing and i would love for you to make more lesson type videos like this one! 🤘🏼
Thank YOU for the support :)
Thank you Nic, startede watching your videos some time ago and I have been enjoying them ever since. You make it short and very comprehensible especially when you show in context! And that accent is just golden xD \m/
You explain stuff really well, looking forward to the sweep tutorial
Thanks! Really cool that you put this together.
Thank you for showing your tricks of the trade. Im going to focus on these techniques, and will be watching more of your vids!
This video is literally "Don't shred bro" and I love it for that
Dude I have to say I started watching since the [X types of X] vids, they are already great but men I am really glad i subscribed, really learnt a lot off your channel, keep it up!
I've always loved the way you shred.
I’d love to see a sweep tutorial from you ! I feel like you know the best way to describe it instead of the people who say “ this how you sweep” and plays full speed the whole time haha.
Yes!!! Ive wanted this for a while lol you rock man
Thank you!
You forgot to add Kirk Hammett
I mean *waah*
^^^
and Zakk Wylde... i mean pinch harmonics :D
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanx.
Awesome Nick. Thanks
Thank you! This Video really motivated me to learn soloing. Thanks alot
Nik is such a beast! He’s been giving us the game for years! Keep the content coming my dude!
Great presentation!
Good tips. In my preference the melodic, feeling out notes with phrasing cannot be overstated. Thats not even so much about skill, just about touch and thinking.
The shred-part is then for the wow-factor, and to increase that wow-factor the odd notes, tapping, etc boosts then.
Yesss pls we need a sweeping tutorial video :c
My solo start sounding musical thanks!!!
Using intervals to ascend a scale instead of traditional sequencing is a *very* cool idea! 💡👍🏻
Very well done Nik
You are awesome man!
Some great tips - awesome
Great teacher 👏👏
That music man is goddamn beautiful
^^^
Thanks Niknocternal!
Sweep picking tutorial would be awesome
Will try to get to it
You are AWESOME!!! Thank You very much!
I expected a more memeful video haha! but im happy with this reminder/educational video :) sweet video as always Nik!
1:20 Nik's Russian alter ego left him for a sec
I love that Nik is describing "basic" things as "good to use, but not cool enough and can be much better" instead of "IF YOU USE IT YOU SUCK AND YOU SHOULD BETTER QUIT GUITAR"
Thanks nik!
Great, excellent points you are making, my friend. Also, you are describing most of Petrucci's solos - which is fine of course. You took the time to actually break them down and "show you in context" waahahaha
Superb video, thanks for posting
I love the fact that whenever he starts talking after a cut, he speaks in this thick Russian accent but gradually looses it over time till he speaks normal English at the end and then the cycle starts over after the next cut xD
This is your 69th meme video.
Nice.
Oh damn
Can I get a HOIYAAAAAA?!
Can we get an URRAAAAAA for our slavic comrade? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Really helpful thanks
This really helps! Thank you🙏
I can definitely hear Andy James behind all the “context” parts
wow good job this so helpful
all jokes aside bro, this was actually very helpful and it made me think of things I didnt even think about when it came to playing solos! but yeah you should make sweeping tutorials
There's a guy on the FB RG Ibanez group that could REALLY benefit from this lesson, GREAT vid! and LOVE that EB 7 STRING, a work of art!! Thanks for sharing and the lesson! \m/!
Please make a sweep picking tutorial!! Love the channel!!
Nice guitar Nik👌👌
Thank you for another amazing video
Thanks fam! :D
Normal minor - looks into camera
Harmonic camera - looks on guitar. You can tell the difficulty level increased!
Harmonic camera? Is that a new scale? Lol
Nobody:
Nik Nocturnal:
*Noh.*
Please make a sweeping tutorial! Love the way you teach. Super entertaining but still informative.
Kudos for giving a shout-out to Andy James. That fellow is on a whole other level when it comes to this subject.
Got here after 58 seconds 😂 quickest click I've ever done
;)
The way your voice jumps between personalities is hilarious man lol just found you recently really enjoying the variance of your content. Do you spend much if any time mixing or mastering your own music? Have you thought about making videos on your processes in that department? You have a really good way of describing guitar theory that I don't see in a lot of other teacher types. I've been playing for 25+ years and you made a few simple concepts "click" for me that I should have already know! Cheers! :D
Good per usual
good shit nik noc!
Yes! Pls sweep picking tutorial
This guy is an amazing teacher!
The Phrasing and Rhythm reminds me of something Rob Chapman said about some advice he got for playing solos. Essentially, you imagine you’re playing a wind instrument and every time you need to take a breath, you stop playing, breath, then continue. It’s meant more for blues or slow solos played with feel but it can definitely be applied to metal
The best solos have amazing rhythm parts.
You should make a video on how and when to use certain scales such as harmonic minor and melodic minor. Also when to use the different modes.
este video es oro puro y era.
You're such a great guitarist
Thanks Sara!
Can you show me how to be a better guitarist
In context.?
Very useful! ❤️
I love you, man. This shit is hilarious and informative. Hell yeah! 😂🤘
Thanks Nick! :)
@@NikNocturnal Thanks for being such an inspiration and good content creator!
Great video ! Also, I would appreciate if you make a tutorial video for sweeping
All killer points! One other thing that would’ve been a great point is key modulation between two different keys in a solo if the rhythm is harmonically ambiguous! Killer video all around though 👍🏼
Nice thanks
Sweeping tutorial for sure 🤘
please make a sweeping tutorial bro
