    Sensitively and sensibly put. You asked a pertinent question i.e who is to be blamed. I believe social media and constant comparison is to be blamed. Everything that shines is not diamond.

      Nowadays everything is so toxic and everyone is becoming more and more materialistic ,we have to accept this or do something that is different (eg. youtube,business,planned farming,freelancing)

      UPSC is anything but Toxic. Don't belive in others. There are not just 3 professions ie IAS, IFS and IPS but many other as well which gives a great work life balance. Cracking an exam is a task but if you want to spend rest of your live securely then giving 2-3 years for the preparation isn't so bad.

    The support system part was really good. I have once experienced such pressure in life and just talking to the loved ones gave me the power to handle it. One phone call/one rational thought in that situation can save your life. Good job man!

    Kudos for publicly admitting to take a pay cut for your mental health. Being a part of the IIM community, it can be difficult to not compare your career path to others and feel dejected about yourself.
    For some reason, aise mein Avengers Endgame ka dialogue yaad aata hai: "Everyone fails at who they're supposed to be. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are"

    IIT and IIM Gaya iska matlab ye nhi who real life pressure lesakta hai. He was just a topper and having such career stats is just doing a bit of hardwork before exams and having everything sorted where your family supported and made way for you. (Btw not discrediting his achievements).

      First , The "just" in the above statement is very big understatement.
      Second, how do you know that everything was sorted in his life? And explain how did his family make way for him in cracking central exams?
      It's real pressure in all these conditions he was put before. Maybe the other things in his life change.
      Above comment shows no empathy and just heartlessly talked about "not discrediting his achievements", maybe financial pressure hoga bhai.

      @@Eternal_Infinity0yes go for marketing. Marketing professionals have very less stress . Also working hrs are 40-50 per week. But if you are into sales , then little pressure of targets is there. But if you are a good salesman then you will be rewarded with handsome salary , work life balance and a good life.

    • @spamaddress8976
      @spamaddress8976 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Eternal_Infinity0 Most Jobs even like Product Management , Sales and Marketing require you to put in long hours. Sales and Marketing have unreal targets and 14 hours will feel like heaven. Product Management has some relief but with advent of AI these jobs are vulnerable and people are getting fired left right center.
      Therefore if you don't want long ours or have doubts on dealing with uncertainty don't go for MBA. You will regret it big time.
      MBA requires huge investment and lot of efforts. So it is better to analyze what you are looking for before making a commitment.

    This seems more like victim blaming. "if you are not made for this job, don't go" WHY EVEN HAVE THESE KIND OF TOXIC ENVIRONMENT? It's easy to blame the individual than initiate a collective understanding of how the system works. Corporations should be blamed for this toxic work culture. They have created the capitalist system that prioritises profit making over anything else. They make us run behind an imaginary thing like money. Government and corporations in this country work hand in hand to create a job market where there is abundant unemployed people who are forced to work at few pennies and you need to work endlessly just to "survive." Companies don't even care for the planet that they are destroying for profits, how do you expect them to make people's lives better. These rich people hoard all our money that they earn through exploiting labour and working with govt(by influencing governance and policies in their favour) and then make you work till you die, as if the end goal of life is just money.
