When We pulled a 6.0 middle of a field for my brothers 04' I unbolted the cab and wedged 2x4s between cab n frame 3-4 inches so I didn't have to pull the up-pipes or separate trans till it was out made life a lil easier
I've had a 6.0 excursion since 05 bought brand new only real problem I ever had was the glo plugs not grounding out so it was the computer module easily bypassed so I dont get why everyone hates the 6.0 oh yea she's a bulletproof 6.0 also with 196000
since it’s stuffed you might as.well turn it up a little and get your 500whp since your transmission is already amazing and of course you’ll never hurt the spicer 80 …. and of course Ford makes the stiffest chassis in the business.
the 6.0 with studs and an external oil cooler is good for 1500hp sprayed and the bottom end doesn’t walk. #fact a 6.0 kept bike stock with 4K oil changes and recommended maintenance goes 3-400k without issues. #alsofact
Looks about right, every 6.0 owner should have a junk yard handy and if you don't currently, you will soon. The powerstroke 6.0's and 6.4 are like shit, they roll down the gutter until a "sucker" picks them up and takes them home. Hell, 2 or 3 more donor trucks and you might get that truck reliable enough to drive to Walmart and back.
all I know is that the Cummings owners will put 30k into a motor and then call it reliable whereas Powerstroke needs studs and O ringed heads that run around 5k after which they’re unkillable and you can boost them to hell and back - AFR’s being moderated of course

Seriously though, I currently own the above maroon duramax w/190K, 2006 LBZ duramax with almost 400K miles, a 2011 ram 2500 megacab with 220K, and my Daily 2015 f250 6.7 lariat with 240K. I have bought all these trucks new and put every mile on them myself, the only truck I didn't keep was a 2010 f250 6.4 cuz emissions were giving me problems in the first year at 40K-traded it towards the Ram. They are all good trucks with strengths and weaknesses. It comes down to preference. I have had the least problems with the LBZ, even my 2015 ford had to have the emissions removed at 140K, radiator popped at 60K, CAC ruptured and had to go to a mishimoto, upper oil pan gasket leaks like a 2 dollar whore, but I still like the truck. Ram had emission problems at 75K tranny out at 180K rebuilt with revmax everything, LBZ is all original, LB7 is straight up rocket with every motor upgrade you can get: wagler afo cam, 45 over new injectors, dual S&S supersport cp3's, arp studs, welded water pump, billet turbo64mm, pipes, PPE race tunes, silicone hoses, 4 core alum radiator, new trans lines, 32 row oil cooler, motor mounts, billet TQ, PPE trans frictions and steels, seals and bearings, 100hrs polishing the trans and painting it candy burgundy. TRuck originall belonged to my best friend who died in a motorcycle wreck, I bought it from his wife, fixed it up and will never sell it. But let me tell you, SHE GETS DOWN!!!! gotta work on traction next, then custom paint. But I love the ram too, go figure

the current 6.0 sled champion runs spray and does 2000hp with a water jacketed stock block with just studs with killdevil heads…. and they’ve never lifted the heads. the truth. don’t boost your diesel without studs. the 6.0 is an astonishing setup stock and due to the amazingly well engineered bottom end, if you STUD them, woth o ringed heads - you’ll smoke Camaros mustangs and Corvettes is you know how to drive them.
