    Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers.
    I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
    Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
    My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
    I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

    Why do you like 45:1 ratio? Is it just because it ends the confusion on 40:1 or 50:1?

    I do not 𝙇𝙤𝙖𝙣 any equipment out to anyone. I just got tired of getting my equipment ruined or damaged by idiots. If someone needs a tree cut down or cut up I do it for them. It is just a bad policy to loan equipment to folks, these days because they can damage your equipment, damage other property or hurt themselves. Guess who the will sue if they do. It is just best to let them buy their own equipment if they need it. I do not even loan out my loppers to anyone because I have had to go searching for them in the past and found them lying in the yard of the person I loaned them to. He left them at the location that he finished using them. People are just not responsible, anymore and if they have problems it is someone else’s fault.

If I borrow it without fuel in, I'll return it fuelled up. If it doesn't have the attachment I need, I'll return it with the attachment I got for it. There should always be a positive to lending gear, not just for the borrower.

    Couldn't agree more. THE BIGGEST problem I find, as a mechanic in a dealer, is people either lending their equipment, or leaving it sit with fuel in it for extended periods. Stale fuel is relatively easy to repair, unless it's been for a year or more, but straight fuel in a 2 stroke, that's just expensive. That's nice, in metric land you get 100 ml 50:1 drop in bottles. In the US, 50:1 drop in bottles only have 2.56 fl oz (75.7 ml). We have to mix that with 0.9 US Gallons of gas to get a 45:1 ratio.

    I haven't bought any two cycle oil lately but the last time I did stihl had some new oil that they gave you an extra warranty guarantee if you used it in a new saw and the thing I didn't like about it is it did not have the blue color. Question how do people feel about the multi ratio Oils ? We used to sell one made by Tanaka.

    Hi Dony, I’ve started using Amsoil Saber synthetic oil in 80/1 mix in my saw and I’m quite impress with it, especially the fact that it cleaned the little carbon crust that was on the piston head. It really burns cleaner. What’s your take on it?

    • @victormarinelli5660
      @victormarinelli5660 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Fred...I run Amsoil Saber at 70:1 in all my two stroke and four stroke power tools that require a premix.
      I've used it for many years with no issues. My personal thoughts on the extra oil......always better to be a little rich with oil than gas.
      And....you'll never have the wrong or questionable mix.
      Always mix with the highest octane available. You may be able to get 100 octane, leaded fuel at your local airport.

    I have never loaned out my chainsaws and to make sure that they have the proper oil/gas mixture in them by using the mixed fuel which is premium gas mixed with the oil to be perfect for the saw. Since I have cranking problems with my gas saws I use a Poulan Pro battery saw which does most of what I want done.

    Just a hint for those of us south of the border. In the US imperial it is a 50:1 mixture metric it is 45:1 stihl has pre measured 2 cycle died oil available for both. It is what I use in my chainsaws. Also I am the only one that uses my saws.

    I'm going to take your advice and mix my fuel a little bit more concentrated. But at what point does the mixture become too oily? I usually mix in single-bottle batches, say 2.5 litres to a 50ml oil bottle, if that's what I have on hand, but I always swish out the bottle with the mixture to make sure the oil is all in. Mostly because I'm a cheapskate. But I like the brief feeling of smug superiority I get imagining that others don't... but it only lasts until I fire up my gutless (but clean and well-tended) MS170. Sure wish I could afford something bigger...
