You’ve already discovered the most precious element on earth Dan… It’s a solid gold wife that puts up with all of your tailings. You’ve been a “Miner For a Heart of Gold”. You most certainly have discovered the most priceless mother load ever.
Would definitely love to see what Jason could do with five or ten bags of that stuff. If the free-mill is any indication then there's a lot in that pile, possibly enough to make it worth a small excavator and process rig.
“She’s my gold digger” that was genuinely funny. I hope I’m not the only one who understood the humor. Because as I have stated before, I am jealous that you have found an ideally suited partner.
I find it relaxing to watch you using the high bankers. It's also fun to see the joy when you find gold and seeing you work the tailings on this place just gets me excited that maybe there's a lot of gold to be found! ☀
Hey Dan you better hang on to that woman she's a good woman Dana she works her you know what off and she's got a beautiful smile and you can't ask for more than better than that her smile and how she is as a person is more worth golden gems in this world you have a beautiful wife and I know that you appreciate it you have two beautiful children what more can a man ask for absolutely nothing😂😂❤❤❤❤😅😅😅
He is a very very knowledgeable person that is one reason I like watching his program there's not too many people that actually explain everything to you as he goes I like that good man
Dan the man Teaching us how to pan With all that gold and mineral in his hand Grinding the ore for gold is just grand With all those speciments on rich soil land😊😊😊😊❤
Gold Hog did verry well by letting you testrun the sluice! Loved the moment you turned around the raised hose ends part, for compact traveling. That is how neat adjustments are made 😃 Hope Gold Hog puts Dan's feature into the end design♥️
Good to see you out Dan I'm going out exploring in a few months. Just coming off two strokes last Aug they were mild thank goodness I had a T-car put installed on my neck ,I can still drive and getting better thing are a little slower now but doing ok. I wish you the best.
Have you considered roasting the concentrate to burn off the sulfur then run it through your magnetic separator. That should help get more magnetic material out of the concentrate.
I hope you get back to this mine now that spring is on the way. Maybe with a small backhoe and highbank this pile en masse. Take Andy and Jason with you or something. That would be a blast to watch.
"Unbelievable discovery! Gold Nuggets unearthed in the tailings of a Copper Mine. Witness the fascinating intersection of copper and gold in this unexpected treasure find. 🌟🪙
Opal miner here down under ,on occasion I go specking on the old mine dumps its amazing what the old timers missed or just threw away back in the old days.
3", thank you for using freedom units instead of metric for your southern watchers! 😊 joking of course, thank you for the entertainment and information, as always Mr. Hurd. Thank you Mrs. Hurd for your hard work and sharing your husbands time with the rest of us!❤
OH DARN IT...the frickin spring forward clock change got me, missed the premiere.....🤬🤬🤬 lol, Dayna, a literal "gold digger" 😂🤣😂🤣🤣 those pieces of gold are perfect for natural gold jewelry...
Another thing for Gold Hog to consider while designing, is material usage. Making parts 11.5", 15.5", 23.5", or 47.25" wide, works best for 48" wide sheets cut on a laser. 14.5", 19.5", 29.5", or 59.25" for 60" wide.
QUESTION ❤ So would you have found more possibly if you would have smelted? How does someone know if they have gold in sulfied material? Great video thanks
Seems like a different spray nozzle might be beneficial to increase the velocity of the spray to better wash the dirt coming in. Seemed like it was backed up a bit.
To process that entire crush pile, especially if I were looking for specimens to sell, I would lay out some heavy vinyl tarp along the entire base of the pile [need not be a lot, just enough to catch what washes down] and focus all the material in with a pressure hose [kinda like hydraulic mining, only more of a controlled washing] so I could have a separator table to have somebody sorting the rough crush before it passed along to a better crusher. But then I would not really bother much with too intensive of a gravity separation, and simply let it dewater in big fiber totes, load it onto a truck and run it to a better place to smelt.
If the plate with hose nozels were on lift bars like the bars that hold the skuices apart it seems you could direct the water higher up in the distruction chamber
The water tubes are connected to a piece of metal, and that piece of metal should be connected to the TOP of the chute, not the end, and the plastic piece the drains the water into the top chute can be molded at a slight angle to allow water to hit back of top chute using small grizzly bars that run over the top of the top chute from the bottom of the back of the top- chute to allow the larger rocks to run right off the edge after being washed by the water. By doing this you make the larger rocks go thru the water and be washed of any gold residue and then continue over the top of the chute to fall out to the ground.
It would be interesting running a similar amount through a ball or chain mill and then a sluice but I'm sure you've thought that already. Perhaps it's in a future video. Nice find
Those kinks on the lay-flat seems to really give the pump a workout. A slightly longer hose out from the T may allow it to swing down on ground and meet a lay-flat straight?
The water pressure or jets on that highbanker could use some work, perhaps it's just the water being pumped up hill, whichever there doesn't seem to be a lot of turbulence in the hopper, perhaps adjustable nozzles in the hopper could be attached so you can adjust the jet pressure to suit various conditions
If you're not sucking up all the water going by in the creek with your pump, then why not dig a little area where the pump inlet is placed for the water to pool up? You could always fill the hole back up with the rocks and dirt you initially removed after you're done pumping!
So what if you collected the water off the end of the sluice and hosed it back down to your pump? Would that increase your flow rate? Dig a pit for your pump if you need to?
You should have your son get his commercial driver's license a dump truck and a wash plant loader start with a bigger bobcat and work your way up to big loader big dump truck and biggest wash plant as he will have enough money for life in ten years you being a prospector get him to get all the gold for your family retirement , living the dream you have earned it !!!
might be a pain to setup but that would be a nice spot to setup a crusher with a shaker table. you allready got a crushed pile so i feel the hard work is done.It could be profitable with a fine crusher and shaker table i would think .
Of all the gold and gems Dan finds, his greatest treasure is still his Dayna. ❤
behind every good man is a wife who is tired of his jokes
if he's good enough, she doesn't mind too much.
She might be waiving that shovel for more than one reason? lol.
My x used to tell me how many times she had heard each story. I miss her
Preach it!!!
Boy ain’t that the truth lol

Mad respect for gold hog sending products to not only test but also improve for everyone to see.
I'm with Dayna. She does all the Work!
I love that Dan describes the geology of the situation as he is processing material.😊
So cool seeing Dana out there too. Great episode.
Be nice if they had attachments to have one of the spouts spray farther up the first pan.
Looks like running the tailings is worth it. Gold Hog did a great job with the Z! It's a little monster!
XRF them sulphides platinum runs in cube form also, seen people say it's just pyrite when it was running raw platinum
That's a very interesting comment, thank you. I looked at images of native platinum. Gosh how upset would you be if you discarded platinum?
My place was always beside my husband. I miss that. Glad to see you and your wife working side by side. Others could learn from your example
Thanks for all the videos Dan! You always reignite my gold fever!
Great video! So relaxing to watch (rather than go out in the cold and do!) Love the King George V dime.
Would definitely love to see what Jason could do with five or ten bags of that stuff. If the free-mill is any indication then there's a lot in that pile, possibly enough to make it worth a small excavator and process rig.
I was thinking the same thing myself. Load up a couple hundred pounds, next time Dan goes south and leave it with Jason to process as he can
“She’s my gold digger” that was genuinely funny. I hope I’m not the only one who understood the humor. Because as I have stated before, I am jealous that you have found an ideally suited partner.
Amen his family seem to be happy and that’s the important part of life
Great tuque Dayna! Always a pleasure to stop by, thanks for sharing!

Gold job Dayna. Very nicely done.
wow you found a great location

It was great to see this video of you and Lady Dayna working 🤣♥️♥️♥️♥️. Thanks for sharing and the smiles.

Cute video Dan that’s awesome to see you and your wife work together out on the claim
Great demo of Gold Hog’s latest innovation, Dayna and Dan. A worthwhile day out in the cold. Glad you got to prove there’s gold.
Thanks for video... Nice to meet you Dan and your dad at Port Alberni rock and gem show!... I was shocked of how tall you and your dada are!
Very nice Dayna makes a good pack mule too. Then again Dayna Blue is the best. Nice video and test.
"Unbelievable discovery! Gold Nuggets unearthed in the tailings of a Copper Mine. Witness the fascinating intersection of copper and gold in this unexpected treasure find. 🌟🪙
Only a whole mound to go Dan!
Dan, change the water flow from bottom up to top down and get rid of the dam totally. It's a bad choke point.
great way to wash rocks to find malachite azurite pieces and find some gold as a side note
"She's my golddigger" 😂 made me chuckle. Always great these episodes with you and Dayna 🫶
Are you allowed to make a little temporary dam in the creek to give the pump a bit of depth?
I see a Lady bird. Dayyna. Nice to see the family. Thanks for another awesome video. Regards South Africa 🇿🇦.
Opal miner here down under ,on occasion I go specking on the old mine dumps its amazing what the old timers missed or just threw away back in the old days.
Great video, Dan! You are a great teacher and an inspiration! I'll be starting my first panning soon in a small NC creek.
Thank you always Dan!
I absolutely love how the 2 of you work together as a team it's very refreshing to see
That looked like a fun day!
3", thank you for using freedom units instead of metric for your southern watchers! 😊 joking of course, thank you for the entertainment and information, as always Mr. Hurd. Thank you Mrs. Hurd for your hard work and sharing your husbands time with the rest of us!❤
I love your great selection of music Dan heard
Not ever panned, high banked or such, but this highbanker looks like a great idea!!!
Another GGGGGREAT Video!! Keep em coming. Well done. Thank you.
OH DARN IT...the frickin spring forward clock change got me, missed the premiere.....🤬🤬🤬
lol, Dayna, a literal "gold digger" 😂🤣😂🤣🤣
those pieces of gold are perfect for natural gold jewelry...
Thanks for showing us all, the glamorous aspects to mining.
Hi Dan, hope the heart is strong, best wishes from Wales take it easy :)
I love your channel sir. I should wear my glasses so I can see when the videos dropped, but no matter the content is exactly what I'm looking for
Thanks for another interesting video Dan and Dayna. Cool to see so many different minerals all together.
Arizona doesn't do DST So I go here an hour late... Get Jason to demo one of his truck mounted systems at this site...
I think Jason sold that system and has not created another from the stockpiled parts to which he has access. Vague memory around three years ago?
Another thing for Gold Hog to consider while designing, is material usage. Making parts 11.5", 15.5", 23.5", or 47.25" wide, works best for 48" wide sheets cut on a laser. 14.5", 19.5", 29.5", or 59.25" for 60" wide.
would love for you to visit these tailings again
Gooood morning Dan and friends!!
You two do some great teamwork! Thanks for the video!
I am glad you did this review. That highbanker looks like one person could run a significant amount of material per run.
Heavy Pans Dan!!!
QUESTION ❤ So would you have found more possibly if you would have smelted? How does someone know if they have gold in sulfied material? Great video thanks
You guys are adorable couple:) quickly becoming my favorite channel:)
I always enjoy! Thank you Dan!
Hello Dan from Michigan,
Thank you from Berlin New hampshire. I'm really learning about gold mining and whatnot
I hope to try panning this year, hope you are out today Dan, Dayna
Beautiful hard rock gold Dan. It is very angular and rough, and hasn't travelled far, if at all. Good stuff!
Dayna is a true gold digger! And she does an amazing job at it 🎉
Up in Michigans UP we sometimes come accross pieces of raw copper.
Good job, Dan and Dayna. You make a great team. Love it from down under🙃
❤ it 😊
Seems like a different spray nozzle might be beneficial to increase the velocity of the spray to better wash the dirt coming in. Seemed like it was backed up a bit.
Dan,
Your wife is NOT a GOLD DIGGER,
, She's digging gold:)
I dig both of you:)
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Would putting that stuff in a rock tumbler help smooth out the rough bits of gold to make it easier to fall out of the mix?
Beautiful find Danno
03/10/24 ... at today's prices it wouldn't take much to make crushing that material and tableing the crush worthwhile.
Great video. Nice to see Dana out with you. Looking forward to seeing if Gold Hog took any of you advise 😀 😉
Thank you for a wonderful and enjoyable video six stars brother
Nice piece Dan

Hi Dan, considering purchasing either a z3 or a piglet. What size pump are you running with the z3, is 1” sufficient ?
great boots Dana.
Well…
I was always told not to trust a miner without a pick.
But I like you. You got a good partner!
Go get that gold.
Good man Dan always the otherr half is the better one 😂😂
Heck yeah, great work Dan!
Mrs. Dan you are a hell of a good digger.
5:00 why not put the nozzles at the top of the hopper?
Morning Dan and folks
They ore looks very close to Dana Blue picture stone
It would be interesting running a similar amount through a ball or chain mill and then a sluice but I'm sure you've thought that already. Perhaps it's in a future video. Nice find

At 7:09 is that native wire copper or a piece of organic debris?
If you're not sucking up all the water going by in the creek with your pump, then why not dig a little area where the pump inlet is placed for the water to pool up? You could always fill the hole back up with the rocks and dirt you initially removed after you're done pumping!
Cool gold , also, great photography.
So what if you collected the water off the end of the sluice and hosed it back down to your pump? Would that increase your flow rate? Dig a pit for your pump if you need to?
I noticed you also moved the water jets up to the bottom holes. Fixed your 2 inch rock problem.
Greetings from the BIG SKY. Good luck!
Is that an 8" wide setup? It honestly looks like a Piglet that's been modified. Not that that's a bad thing. ✌️😎
