Was your jury selection closed to the public? The two times I've been called, they had people sitting in the gallery during jury selection. The court rooms that don't have a gallery (like this one) have to stream online because there have been lawsuits about public access. I think the only exception is something like child abuse cases where they can close the courtroom.
@@derekasato9035 it was at least 10 years ago. Might have been more. All I remember,is a very packed courtroom. Pretty sure it was mostly jury candidates. They tried to say,he threw it up there when the cops came. It was a pretty interesting case.

I lived in the Chicago area and was called for jury duty at the Daley (Thompson?) center downtown. Fortunately I wasn’t at the scary neighborhood center on California. I had to take an early morning train downtown fighting the “regulars” who took the train everyday to work. Apparently there are “reserved” seats. It was a nightmare trip. I finally got there and walked down to the center where I sat in this huge room for an hour or so until I was called into a courtroom. I ended up being intensely questioned by the plaintiff because I was not a good fit for them. I knew they would boot me. We were sent for lunch. An hour to kill, bought a “cheap” sandwich and coke which cost more than I was “paid” for the honor of being a juror - not even counting the cost of parking at the train station for one day. As soon as we reconvened I was let go. Would have been nice if they did it before I paid that ridiculous amount for lunch since we all knew I was going to be dismissed. Got back to the station about five minutes after the train I needed had left, had to wait over an hour for the next one. Had let the family know I was on the way home with the last gasp of my phone battery. Train I was on then hit a kid who lost a game of “chicken” with the train. We were stopped for about 2 hours in the blazing heat with all power to the train off for obvious reasons. I can’t imagine how hot that train got but I was about a puddle after a half hour and we weren’t even allowed to leave the train for safety reasons. At least 2 passengers were treated and removed by EMTs for heat related conditions. I had to pay some lady $5 to let me use her cell phone to call home to explain why I’d be late (granted this was before unlimited minutes, but please - $5 for a 3 minute call under these situations???? Guess I’m just a sucker as I never would have charged if the situations were reversed). Finally got home around 6 PM - 12 hours after I left feeling like I had spent the day at manual labor. Called my boss, explained the whole situation and took the next day as a vacation day. Forgot to mention I spent the whole time I was sitting on the train looking at the kid’s sneaker which he had been blown out of. Was over an hour till the cops finally bagged and tagged it. My emotions were shattered as well as my physical drain. I was a mess. Overall the experience was a nightmare and I live in dread of ever being called again. I would go, as I believe in the system (and would not likely run into a case which bumped into my personal issues again), but I sure hope if it happens it happens in one of our local city courts rather than the Cook County court downtown
So many judges say they can't help them and then help them. Everything they ask a question about how to do things, the judge should just shrug. Why do they tolerate this bs?

Technically, they should be paid for each day. I believe I banked $15 before me and almost everyone else was dismissed, plus gas money (no idea how much that was… maybe ¢15/mile). It was a gangbusters money-making day!
@@RandyBaumery-s4iman, funny thing is because of my job, working alongside police, no defense attorney would let me on. What they don’t know is I could believe someone did something. I could know they did it. But if the state didn’t PROVE that they did it, they’d walk before I said guilty.
In our county they select all juries on one day. Trials start the next day or later. I was selected for a jury once and the case started 2 weeks later.

The judge, lawyers and defendant were there with us too. They were accusing the defendant of owning and using a gun, that was on the roof of a diner where there was an altercation. There were a lot of other people there. I think it was gang related. It’s been so long. I don’t remember all the details. We found him not guilty. His prints weren’t on the gun. It could have been anyone. They couldn’t even prove how long the gun was on the rooftop. They tried to say,he threw it up there when the cops came. It was a pretty interesting case.
Totally agree! I can't concentrate or hear with her talking
I’m pretty sure the judge said that personal reasons could be discussed out of the view of the camera.
When I was a kid I lived for a short time in Centerville, MA. It's like me and Debbie are practically cousins.
It sure seems as though the judge is helping him out quite a bit so far. He has already told him what he can and cannot do or say.
If he didn't he'd be arguing and getting nowhere
Saves time as it prevents him from tying up the procedures at every turn.
can't wait for the next episode. ought be a hilarious train wreck
They’re all so calmmmmm.
Wow!! By indulging this guy, the judge is educating HIM along with other sovcits out there! So kind and respectful!❤
They always think that they don’t need an attorney to beat a criminal trespass charge. 🤓
Shaggy just couldn't WAIT to say the word OBJECT!😂😂
Very strange court room
Like a stadium or movie theater
Mike... Debbie... 'Get a room. Please!'
Mike's smokin' hot Cuban wife is going to beat him over the head with a shoe if she ever finds out about Debbie!
I'm juror #20. I'm a cat lawyer. I defend the rights of cats everywhere. I'm not a cat.😺
In florida, you don't get a jury unless the state is seeking jail time, which excludes almost all misdemeanors except maybe 2nd and 3rd duis. Trespassing is usually dealt with at 1st appearance with time served. Which is overnight.
I love the judge making it into The Dating Game!
There are a lot of Bay Area (CA) refugees in the jury, I noticed. That's always satisfying to see.
I have jury duty on Monday in Everett Wa. I’m hoping the seats will be more comfortable than the chairs in this court room. I don’t know what county this one is in.
Are there any jurors who feel they can't go through the whole trial without laughing hysterically?🤣🤣😂
I love driving across covered bridges! It's really cool and each one is very unique. I get up in Lane county in Oregon and we have about 20 of them. It wasn't until I was an adult did I realize how lucky we are having so many. Bike rides are a fun going over those bridges. Also it gives you a chance to get in some shade and chill out for a bit 😊
When Shaggy said 'the last thing I plan to do is disrespect the court,' I heard him admitting he WAS going to do just that! The last thing (in the end) he is going to do is disrespect the court.
Defendant: Decides to represent himself
Me: ohhhh this is going to be good! 😂🍿🍿🥤🥤🥤🥤
Why is the judge explaining procedure (in detail) when they tell Pro Se's they will be treated like any other attorney.
The Judge seems like he's enjoying himself with this case 😂😂😂
"What are your interests?"
"I watch a lot of SovCit videos on Law Talk With Mike"
"You're excused"
I don't understand how these people don't look up how their arguments have played out in court for others... how could they possibly think it's going to work?
The accused will not want to take too many days away from his job.
Good grief, he says he can’t assist him, and within 5 minutes he’s helping him!
13:19 *WHAT?* What did he just say???🤦♂Sad the court *Allows* this nonsense.
OMG, he can't read! Well, THAT'S not good.
Is Mr. Milton just Looking for ‘Friends’?
So many judges say they can't help them and then help them. Everything they ask a question about how to do things, the judge should just shrug. Why do they tolerate this bs?
Potential Jurors show up in shorts, but do wear button down shirts. 😂
Defendant took shirt tips from Mike.
Washington is stringent on speedy trial rules. Defendant’s get their day in court quickly.
If I was defense, the corporate security equipment guy would be my 1st yeet from jury.
I hope that if he's found guilty he will have to pay all the expenses for the trial. What a waste of time and money.
I'm cracking up reading the chat replay-- jurors introducing themselves.🤣😂🤣
How did this prosecutor and this judge hook up????????
Oh haha now I get it... Foot in mouth😊
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 OMG...I'm 80 years old and haven't laughed this hard in all 80 so far. (the chat room) It's the Judge I feel sorry for. His facial expression says: "what the "f", am I being punked?"
Two in the afternoon to call a jury? WOW! In two different counties in rural Iowa and one rural county in Nebraska, the juries were called, questioned, and set starting at nine in the morning. .and the trials started right after lunch break. This sort of caught me off guard.
When things don't make sense....it's WASHINGTON STATE. 🙄
I have jury duty in 2 weeks in Clark County (neighbor to crazy Cowlitz) and 10 minutes to Portland, OR. it's truly the Wild West here. 🤠
So, the last thing he's intending to do is disrespect the judge. . . . What are the things he's intending to do before he get's to that?
Delay and be a jackass.
I was here for almost all of this stream but missed the end and seeing Debbie show up is great!
Judge is playing Candy Crush while the prosecutor asks the veneer questions
I’d have no patience for these people. The judge needs more credit for putting up with him, because I would’ve yelled at him “You want “simple”?! You did done a wrong, dummy!” 😂
Man I would be super angry to be on this jury. He's making 20 people *go without pay* because he's having fun playing lawyer. Seriously? It's fine for me, my company pays me, but the people who need money most generally don't get that benefit and just miss out on hours at work.
Technically, they should be paid for each day. I believe I banked $15 before me and almost everyone else was dismissed, plus gas money (no idea how much that was… maybe ¢15/mile).
It was a gangbusters money-making day!
Part of why I found a way to be forever disqualified from that duty. 😅
@@RandyBaumery-s4iman, funny thing is because of my job, working alongside police, no defense attorney would let me on. What they don’t know is I could believe someone did something. I could know they did it. But if the state didn’t PROVE that they did it, they’d walk before I said guilty.
@@RandyBaumery-s4iBy becoming a felon? 😂
@@jamesplymire5342 nope. I have medical reasons and they classified it as a hard ship.
In our county they select all juries on one day. Trials start the next day or later. I was selected for a jury once and the case started 2 weeks later.
Thanks Attorney Mike. Great vid.😂😂 Love SovCits😂🙏👍.
" I will save the rationale 😂😂😂😂" Oh Lord😂.
Please tell me you’ll cover the actual trial. I need to see how this goes down.
This just looks like a stubborn guy getting in way over his head and thinking he can handle it 😂😂
What state was this held in? I suspect the attorney Mr. Sharp also worked a case for the "Ambassador" of a self-proclaimed "nation" within Tennessee
This one is so awesome Mike. Absolutely love it !
I have made this joke every time I have been called for jury duty. but last time someone actually said. The police wouldn't have arrested him if he wasn't guilty and stuck to that until they excused her.
If I get called to jury duty, I'll give LTWM a shout out 😂😂 This is the courthouse I would be at 🤦♀️
Ooh, can’t wait to see what happens! 🍿
Replay crew ❤ I know times are tough but can you “rent a tent”? 😂
So great to see Debbie Davis join you 💕
WA state!! And I live here!! I can't believe how patient this judge is. I live about an hour from Lacey, just a whole bunch of mutants!! 😂😂😂
So the defendant hasn't watched any episodes of Perry Mason?
Replay crew. Mike you have the best stuff on your channel
Imagine you go to law school. Work you way up through the ranks as a lawyer. Get elected to be a judge and your courtroom looks like a bad Holiday Inn conference room that is mostly used for multi-level marketing groups.
