Just so all you out there know. He killed 6, but the damage he inflicted is ongoing. We know a girl that was hit by Brooks & she’s suffering immense pain. She’s been hospitalized for a better part of the year & had repeated surgeries. She’s just a child & has had her life ripped from her. So it’s not just the 6 he killed. It’s also about the numerous victims that were very seriously injured.
Also to note, not just the victims who were physically injured either. The people who witnessed this, the other people IN the parade who were, thankfully, not hit with the car but watched their friends, family, or even complete strangers get hit. The psychological damage is astounding.
He is continuing to cause suffering & pain on the victims. It’s absolutely outrageous & horrendous!! He deserves the Death Penalty. He is a Monster. He is the epitome of Evil. @@hus390 I'm pro death penalty in the right circumstances. It's also INCREDIBLY expensive, and it takes years to carry out. But if you ever seen what someone looks like after 50-60yrs in prison, it's equally satisfying. They're a shell of a human being, a quick death is a favor.
Those "sovereign citizens" are always a source of great laughter for me, especially during traffic stops. However, I never realised the immense burden they pose in an actual jury trial. That poor judge has both the wit and patience to put him in his place the right way, kudos to her.

The Trial is now over, Guilty on all 76 charges and all i can say is, This Judge was amazing, she had his card marked from day one and knew exactly what he was trying to do and she showed him The Law at its finest. Although the defense attorneys looked really happy to not have to represent this guy anymore. I think she should have forced the attorneys to at the very least write legal advice on notes for him to look at. I don't know if this is a death penalty case or not. But you will not get the death penalty without a lawyer helping out in the defense.

Let's not, and say we did. Appoint him counsel for what exactly? He fought for the right to represent himself....he needs to live with the consequences of THAT decision, as well as for all the other bad decisions he's made. Appointing him counsel at this point would require the trial be delayed, which would be playing right into his game. No appeal court would grant appeal due to his behavior or his legal acumen since he fought for that right. What she needs to do is exactly what she is doing, which is showing patience, maintaining order in her court and continuing to try him so these families can receive justice.

I am watching this video a few days after watching many of the others, including those toward the end of the trial. It is startling to see how much more energy the judge had at this point than she had later in the trial. Her voice is clear and strong and her words precise. The change was slow and subtle, but dealing with this sociopath really wore down her and the prosecution. Praise God it is over, and they can all go to their homes and families for some rest over the holidays. Bless her and all the members of the Waukesha community.

Also, he was examined by 2 or 3 doctors. Although they found some slight mental illness they did not find him incompetent of understanding what people said to him or of the charges against him.
Eh. Kind of a toss-up as to whether or not a public defender could drag this out further. Brooks can’t file any motions, because he’s ignorant of the proceedings, so that should save quite a bit of time.

Let's not, and say we did. Appoint him counsel for what exactly? He fought for the right to represent himself....he needs to live with the consequences of THAT decision, as well as for all the other bad decisions he's made. Appointing him counsel at this point would require the trial be delayed, which would be playing right into his game. No appeal court would grant appeal due to his behavior or his legal acumen since he fought for that right. What she needs to do is exactly what she is doing, which is showing patience, maintaining order in her court and continuing to try him so these families can receive justice.
He tried his best to cause a mistrial, but the judge didnt play into it.

I normally dislike judges because alot seem to be on a power trip but this judge seems to have soo much patience with him it's incredible, he got really lucky with her cause anyone else would not hold his hand through his own multiple murder trial..

I am watching this video a few days after watching many of the others, including those toward the end of the trial. It is startling to see how much more energy the judge had at this point than she had later in the trial. Her voice is clear and strong and her words precise. The change was slow and subtle, but dealing with this sociopath really wore down her and the prosecution. Praise God it is over, and they can all go to their homes and families for some rest over the holidays. Bless her and all the members of the Waukesha community.

Yes, Brooks was relentless in questioning everything the Judge and prosecutors did. Imagine living with this man. I truly feel sorry for Erika Patterson. His mother had a restraining order on her son. He was violent towards his own mother! An appalling human being.

This is a glimmer of what a teacher can experience in the classroom. Seems unbelievable but there are students (middle school, high school) who act out, speak out, disrupt the learning. I appreciate the calm and professional nature of this judge.

Being held in contempt would only lengthen the trial. She cannot have him monetarily charged, he has no money. He cannot have his judicial license suspended, he is not a lawyer. Time out and muting him is her best control.

He’s been diagnosed with a real medical condition, he was not raised this way. He’s not on his medication and can’t be forced to take it since he’s an adult. Unfortunately there’s not much society can do to force people like him to take their meds, unless they commit crimes like he did and he deserves any sentence he gets. He won’t take his meds, so he doesn’t belong in society where he is a danger to all.
