I don't watch this Indiana movie much... It's just not early as good as the first... But when Indiana says "That's more food than these people eat in a week. They're starving. You're insulting them and embarrassing me".... The sincerity in his voice.... Got to watch this again....
Side notes/trivia: Kathleen Kennedy (one of the producers) plays one of the chorus girls in the opening scene. The Mythbusters tested out the falling inflatable raft myth on their TV show. Short Round IS Data from The Goonies. The 1980s saw Stephen Spielberg direct at least one movie a year for a solid decade. The chilled monkey brains were bananas and strawberry jello.
Yep, beginning of Raiders it says it was 1936, the Shanghai scene in Temple of Doom said it was 1935, so chronologically it goes Temple, Raiders, Last Crusade and Crystal Skull
MAD magazine did a parody of this movie. In that parody, that scene under the palace went something like this: "Willy: What are 10,000 icky bugs doing down here? Indy: Hiding from the chef."
Jonathan Ke Quan (Short Round) made this movie for me. He and Harrison had great father-son chemistry and it's a shame the later movies didn't cast him.
There's another nod to Star Wars at the bridge - when Indy chases after the two swordsmen and suddenly stops, turns and runs from a hoard of them -- the scene is a nod to Han chasing the two Stormtroopers and suddenly stopping when he rounded the corner.
Temple of Doom holds a special place in my childhood with it being the first movie I remember seeing in the movie theater as a kid. When you're 7 years old and you see a movie with them eating monkey brains and a guy ripping the heart out of someones chest you think its the most bad ass movie ever.
@@joepermenter7228I thought they didn't add the rating intill after the movie was already released? Similar to sega's genises game effecting the ESRB but only after its release?
@@JohnnyXoz true. it wasn't important. sort of like the James Bond movies pre Craig, there is no continuity(except that Bond had the same boss and Spectre would show up) so you can have adventures in whatever time and place, it doesn't matter.
They say it is, but it isn't true (the callback to the swordsman, Indy's claim not to believe in "magic", etc.); I maintain the "1935" date is a "typo"
Having grown up in the 80s, this is the one I immediately think of when I think of Indiana Jones. The others were good, too, but this one just had a magic to it that seared it into my brain as a kid. It was so intense, and I love the score by John Williams. This one felt the most magical/fantastical of the Indiana Jones films.
Fun fact. The English actor Pat Roach appears in this movie as two characters. He is also in Raiders as at least one character ... and he is in Last Crusade but only briefly. ln Raiders he's the 'boxer' that gets killed by the propeller on the plane. ln Temple of Doom he's the guy that gets hanged by the ceiling fan AND he's the big fighter in the mine that gets squished by the rollers. ln Last Crusade he's one of the two gestapo officers running on the ground past the luggage as the blimp takes off. l mention Pat because, apart from Harrison Ford, he's the only other actor that's in all three movies.
Little known fact: This prequel was so violent and dark it caused the MPAA to change its rating system and introduce PG-13, two months after it was released and after Steven Spielberg suggested it.
Kind of a double whammy of both this movie and 'Gremlins', so Spielberg was the instigator of PG-13 whichever way you look at it. I remember the news making a big deal about both movies being too graphic for PG.
Um, that isn't a "little known fact". I was alive when this happened and remember that this movie was one of the reasons they created the PG-13 rating.
Raiders was one of the best action/adventure movies of all time. Crusade was a B grade film where Raiders was an A+. Temple was A-/B+ IMHO. There was no fourth film. It was just a bad nightmare.
@@dan_hitchman007 Your most definitely selling Last Crusade short. Raiders of course is the standard but Last Crusade is right up there. Temple is great in its own way and the 4th is just what it is.
The actor playing Short Round is Ke Huy Quan. He also played Data in the "The Goonies." Fun Fact: he never meant to audition for the role in this film. He was accompanying his brother to the audition. While they were waiting, Ke Huy was talking to his brother and telling him what to do in the audition. The casting director noticed him and brought him in to meet Spielberg and Ford. They liked him so much that they cast him.
Oh yeah the minecart scene! That was actually one of my favorite bits as well, I used to wish I could go on that roller coaster. I think they had something like that at maybe Universal when I was a kid but I don't remember.

Well, let's go over what made this movie what it is and what came out of it: 1. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were both going through divorces around the time this movie was made so both were in a dark place in their lives which is reflected in their work. 2. This movie lead to the creation of the PG-13 rating, which Speilberg suggested to the MPA when they were having trouble not making this movie R. 3. Speilberg later married Kate Capshaw - aka Willie. He would go on to say, "Jones didn't actually get the girl in this movie. I did."
I didn't know Temple of Doom wasn't well received as the other two until the internet came along. This was my favorite of the trilogy for the longest time, and still is.
Mine too. Just reading TH-cam comments did I find out that people don't like this sequel/the girl. To me, Willie is super hot, def hotter than plain looking Marion. Even Harrison didn't have hots for her when some Marion fanboy asked him how lucky he was working with Karen Allen. So, can't blame Steven Spielberg casting (out of 200+ girls) and eventually marrying Kate Capshaw.
@@spongebobandplanktonshould2920 I don’t care for the woman, I like Marion more because she’s more of a bad ass and less whiney/annoying, but the movie wouldn’t be the same without her. Both great actors that add to the movie they’re in.
Me too although, I think a huge factor for it being my favourite is because this was the first one I saw. My parents took me to see it in the cinemas when I was 13. I then watched Raiders a few days later on television. (Back in those days it took film at least 3 years between cinema and TV broadcast. So the networks tied it in with the 2nd movie release.) It is funny how this was a prequel (of sorts) to the first film, so I saw them in what is technically chronological order! Kate Capsaw's character was annoying to me even on first viewing, but I think over time even more so. However, Harrison Ford who was just brilliant as Indy, whom I only knew of as Han Solo at the time. And Short Round, even though his character is a bit of an Asian cliche of the 80s and was placed in the story for us to connect with the storyline of the stolen kids, he shone brightly as Indy's "side kick". And so to this day I can look past Billy (Capsaw's) character and instead enjoy the moments she is tortured by the bugs, jungle creatures and, oh how can I forget! The brilliant palace dinner scene!
Hmm I never knew till this moment how others rate it but still kinda obvious. Last Crusade will fight it out with the original and leave hardly any place for Temple of Doom.
Hell even I knew Harrison was a hunk and am a straight male even though I ddont like willie in this movie cassie on the other hand I wish cassue was single.
Growing up in Northern Midwest region I had never seen one till I moved to Florida in my mid 20s. They aren't nearly as prevalent in places with long cold winters.
This was actually my favorite of the original Indiana Jones Trilogy, largely because of the banter between Indy and Willie. The reason the dates don't make sense is because "Temple of Doom" was a prequel. Finally, the "crocodiles" in the climactic scene were actually American alligators.
And it also makes more sense for him to stick with Marion after Willie. If this woman had been a better match for Indy, the fans would have been divided or they had to kill Willie off to justify Marion being his main interest in the future. We don't like Willie because we're not supposed to. Just good writing. On the other hand, in Willies defense: Not everyone is suited for or want Indy's adventurous lifestyle, and Willie was forced into it. Their first meeting was Indy threatening to kill her with a meat fork. She has all the right to complain, but perhaps tone it down now and then...
Also, it’s worth remembering that Spielberg just got divorced. There’s a little misogyny at play with Willie’s depiction. This is all the more awkward, as Spielberg would end up marrying the woman who played Willie.
@@Akihito007 Yeah, the Goonies one was cooler with all the tinkering making silly things. Short Round was good in this one but if I had a choice. Also the big diamond Dr. Jones was getting, was that part of the stones? They were looking for a few more, so maybe that was the tie in? Just seeing a few moments here I don't remember if it was ever brought up.
Willie Scott was actually a parody of the damsel-in-distress trope, according to a film book I read a while back; unfortunately this was lost on a lot of audiences. This film is actually set *before* _Raiders of the Lost Ark._
Parody or not she is as annoying as hell. In hindsight you could tell Spielberg was enamoured with her because he is the only one that thought her constant screaming worked, including Kate Capshaw.
I disagree that it was lost on audiences. They’re playing the damsel in distress trope straight, but they could have made her less annoying and more interesting. Because in the movie she is way over obnoxious
Another thing possibly lost on audiences is I heard the dinner scene was intended as sort of a joke, that this is what ignorant Americans think Indian people eat. Spielberg was not proud of this movie and from what he's said about it, it's hard to determine what was played straight, what was parody, and what might be excuses for things that didn't work.
@@lenflakisinski6260 - Nah, pretty sure there was no way to make her less annoying. Before she started sleeping with Spielberg, she was a B-list actress with a minor role in a soap opera. Suddenly, she's a leading lady in a big budget Spielberg film? So yeah... she's just a TERRIBLE actress. Doesn't matter what script you hand her or how you direct her to play the role. She's not equipped to do any better. Pretty sure Spielberg figured out that her annoying screams were less annoying than her terrible line delivery. Lesson: Use a casting call... not a casting couch!
But she does it so much even at moments, where nothing is actually happening to her. Therefore, she does become extremely unbearable to listen to. I don’t even understand why you would have her tag along, as she almost got some killed several times. I’m beginning to think that George Clooney was right when he said in Batman and Robin , “This is why Superman works alone.”. And that’s saying something, if a more awful movie is making me quote them.
Short round was played by Ke Huy Quan..this was his first movie and yes he was Data in Goonies , his second movie. Fun facts..Ke brother went to audition for this movie and he tagged along. He was helping him act out scenes when director saw him and gave him a chance and he won the role. Ke kinda quit acting around late teens. Worked behind camera for decades and finally came back to acting with Everything All at Once , which he won Oscar for!!

@@osmanyousif7849I know. It was a missed opportunity. But to be fair, Ke Huy Quan had only just resumed his acting career and was busy with "Everything Everywhere All At Once".

When you asked if the plot would tie back into the thing with Lao Che in the beginning, Indiana Jones was Spielberg & Lucas’ attempt to make James Bond-style movies and one of the ways they reference the 007 series is to always have the movies start at the end of a prior mission (like most of the Bond movies begin with an action scene wrapping up a mission before the opening credits roll). Like the next movie opens with a flashback to Indy’s younger days that’s only tied to the rest of the film by referencing his relationship with his father (and how he got his hat)

The opening musical sequence was inspired by the Busby Berkeley musicals of the 1930s. These included Forty Second Street, Gold Diggers of 1933 and Dames.
erm ... "Anything Goes" is a Cole Porter classic, exactly the sort of song she would have been singing in the 1930s Yes - the choreography is very remniscent of these 1930s musicals (I've seen nearly all of them now ... having reached 1940 in my lifetime Oscars challenge - to watch EVERY Oscar nominated movie in history.
The beginning of the movie says it’s 1935 . Raiders happens in 1936. This is technically a prequel, which is why Marion is not mentioned. I think they wanted to show Indy was always the adventurer.
Cassie, as someone who's been watching since your first video I just want to tell you how much I enjoy experiencing these very special movies through your fresh, and innocent eyes. I was a shy, quiet kid, and storytelling (especially movies) have been salvation for me. Your reactions remind me of why I love these stories. This movie is a personal favourite, and obviously not everyone's cup of tea. I can't wait for your viewing of the epic conclusion to the real Indiana Jones stories. These movies are pure childhood and always remind me that life may change, but these movies will always be the same; a reminder of people and times that have long past. Thank You for sharing your experiences with these very special movies with all of us.
I know this got mixed reactions when it came out but I think over time people have realized that it’s legit a fantastic film. I think people were just put off by the fact that it felt so drastically different from the first as far as the tone goes…but it IS still an exhilarating adventure, with some elements of legit horror sprinkled in. And I’d even argue that this one is better in that Indy actually has a character arc in this one. He starts out only interested in the stone for “fortune and glory” but by the end realizes how much it means to the village. Saving the kids was the real goal. He had the chance to grab the stone and leave but he stayed to save them
Nice cameo: When Indie gets on the Lao Che plane, the two men at the door are Spielberg and Lucas. Marion is not around as this took place before the first film. The whole series was a nod back to the old weekly serials kids would go see in the movies. The beginning scene in this movie was a nod to the dance movies of the 1930's as well. (yes, that included the splits going in reverse too)
When my dad showed this to me for the first time, I was mad at him because I thought he tricked me into watching James Bond (because of the tux). Once I heard the theme and saw Harrison Ford in his Indiana Jones getup I got a huge grin and was overcome with excitement. I haven't distrusted my dad since haha.

Legend has it that on the first day of filming on the actual bridge(it is in Sri Lanka I think) Mr Ford ran thru the bridge screaming like a madman to show Spielberg that the bridge was safe to walk in.
Trivia: those are not giant "vampire" bats, they're fruit bats. Regardless, you don't want to be under a mass of them flying, they "piss like a hot, stinking rain." One of the film makers from Bridge On The River Kwai said that in an interview. That film was done in Sri Lanka.
Just had another thought. Do "The Age of Adaline." You get "old" Harrison Ford. But you also get Anthony Ingruber playing the younger version of Ford's character, and the resemblance to what Ford used to look like is remarkable. And it's a romance, and a SciFi.
13:43 - during the shooting of this scene, when Ford flipped over this guy, he seriously injured his back. He was unable to shoot for a long time, that's why in some scenes his double took over. you can see him for instance in 16:10 . and in scenes around 21:48 there is a dark scar on Ford's back.

Those are really giant fruit bats. Lovely innocent creatures. Vampire bats exist in central & South America. The opening dance sequence is a homage by Spielberg to the wonderful Busby Berkeley dance routines of the 1930s musicals. Well worth catching some of those if you can.
What’s interesting about this installment is that, aside from Indy, Temple of Doom has absolutely no connection whatsoever to the other Indiana Jones movies, but I love it because Harrison Ford brings a roguish charm to Indy that was missing in Raiders.
Fun Fact: The actor that welcomes them to the airplane in the beginning is Dan Aykroyd and the giant Thuggee that dies in the crusher was the same actor that played the giant Nazi soldier in Raiders of the Lost Ark that he fights near the plane and dies from the propeller blades. This is my favorite of the movies. Willie is annoying but I’d probably be just as scared and grossed out in those situations (I wrote that just before you said the same thing!) I love Short Round also. He added something special to the movie for me. Enjoyed your reaction very much!
She’s also kind of useless, though, when you think about it. In fact, she’s only in the moments of the story when the plot says she needs to be. You could’ve simply left her with the villagers, and the story would’ve function probably way better.

The scene with Willie and yanking the snake was legit. The actress was not informed about it being an actual snake, thinking it was a prop. Fortunately for her and the snake, they went with the one and only take.
4:54-4:60 The two guys sitting with Lao Che at the club were his sons Chen and Kao. Chen was the one who shot and killed Indy’s friend Wu Han, and Indy retaliated by hurling a skewer of pigeon flambé at him. Indiana basically killed the son of a mob boss, which explains why the gangsters are still chasing him. That scene with them using the life raft as a parachute at 5:50 would never work in real life as it would be too unstable in free fall, and it’s highly unlikely you wouldn’t be able to land without serious injuries. Despite how much darker this film is compared to Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Thuggee Cult leader Mola Ram is one memorable villain, and seeing Indiana’s crew rescue hundreds of children from slavery is infinitely satisfying.
I was at an SF convention in the 80s and someone who worked on the movie was there talking about it. They said they were rehearsing the opening scene with all the showgirls dancing in a set right next to the set where they were, at the same time, filming the scene with the bazillion bugs. They had a bunch of bug wranglers -- guys with push brooms whose job it was to keep the bugs in the shot -- but sometimes a bunch of bugs would escape. The guy said you could hear the music, and the tap-tap-tappity-tap-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! and that's how they knew a bunch of bugs had escaped. :)
The Temple of Doom takes place in 1935 and Raiders of the Lost Ark takes place in 1936. So, Temple of Doom is a prequel to Raiders even though it came out afterwards. It's still my favorite Indy flick, but, Raiders is overall better made and a REALLY close second for me. Each movie is kinda apples & oranges (pears & grapes, and...;).

This movie was controversial at the time because it was SO intense...too intense for children who might have been taken to the film. A lot of parents were freaked out by the violence and darkness of the film. Spielberg has since expressed regret that he let it get "out of control", in that way. That said, It was fun watching it with you!

Sadly both Lucas & Spielberg were in really bad headspaces while making this movie, and they deliberately made Willie as unlikable a "romantic interest/damsel" as possible.
Neither did a sizable percentage of filmgoers, I believe. She's written to be annoying as possible and played annoyingly broadly by Kate Capshaw. Really, really awful.
@@thomaskim2159 It’s possible but they didn’t officially start seeing each other romantically until after filming ended. At least, that’s my understanding.

Willie, shes' definitely supposed to be an annoying character. It's done that way on purpose. I think most people can't stand her. But by the end of the film, after going through everything, she seems to have changed. So I think it was cool to show character growth.
Look, I don’t mind annoying characters if they’re funny. But there’s a difference between being annoying and being straight up unbearable. And Willie really draws the line of being the latter of the two.
I love Raiders and Crusade bit this one is my favourite. Great performances and set pieces. Fun fact.- the giant Indian henchman Indy fights in the mines is played by British Wrestler Pat Roach. This movie takes place 1 year prior to Raiders of the Lost Ark. There's been a debate for a long, long time as how to rank the Indiana Jones series. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. For my money, I have Riders of the Lost Ark at #1 and The Last Crusade at #2.
See I enjoyed Crystal Skull more than Temple. Most didn't like it because they said it was too over the top. Which is ridiculous because all the films are over the top. It is what makes them so fun to watch.

Temple of Doom holds a special place in my childhood with it being the first movie I remember seeing in the movie theater as a kid. When you're 7 years old and you see a movie with them eating monkey brains and a guy ripping the heart out of someones chest you think its the most bad ass movie ever.
Oh you 80s kids~
@@dereknight861 Yep we were lucky.

Hopefully "Doom" did not set too much of a precedent, so that you would expect heart-ripping and monkey brains from every movie from then on... ;)

@@JohnnyXoz true. it wasn't important. sort of like the James Bond movies pre Craig, there is no continuity(except that Bond had the same boss and Spectre would show up) so you can have adventures in whatever time and place, it doesn't matter.
19:01 I seriously thought you were going to hit something, you looked so mad ha ha
Same here. I saw it before Raiders. I get that it's different from the others but it's still my favourite followed closely by Last Crusade.
Honestly that's really not little known at all. I think I learned it when I was like 10.
@@YodatheHobbit Good for you, that doesn't make it well known.
Kind of a double whammy of both this movie and 'Gremlins', so Spielberg was the instigator of PG-13 whichever way you look at it. I remember the news making a big deal about both movies being too graphic for PG.
@@LastRenegade Little known fact: Viggo Mortensen actually broke his toe when he kicked the helmet in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Raiders was one of the best action/adventure movies of all time. Crusade was a B grade film where Raiders was an A+. Temple was A-/B+ IMHO. There was no fourth film. It was just a bad nightmare.

@@SwordmasterKane could be, but most of his credits are from movies George Lucas produced.
Well, let's go over what made this movie what it is and what came out of it:
So the networks tied it in with the 2nd movie release.)
It is funny how this was a prequel (of sorts) to the first film, so I saw them in what is technically chronological order!
Yes me too. Last Crusade is my least favourite with this being no.1

The actress who played Willie, Kate Capshaw, is actually Steven Spielberg's wife. They met while making this movie.
This was actually my favorite of the original Indiana Jones Trilogy, largely because of the banter between Indy and Willie. The reason the dates don't make sense is because "Temple of Doom" was a prequel. Finally, the "crocodiles" in the climactic scene were actually American alligators.
willie is the opposite of marion. this was intentional. no need to have 2 different marion's in a row.

Willie Scott was actually a parody of the damsel-in-distress trope, according to a film book I read a while back; unfortunately this was lost on a lot of audiences.
This film is actually set *before* _Raiders of the Lost Ark._
Yeah, my brother did a video comparing Willie and Marion, great watch, he did it for a school project. Do I have the video? No.
I can’t make fun of willie in this movie because I’d be screaming just as loud and and freaking out like her 🤣😅
But she does it so much even at moments, where nothing is actually happening to her.

Raiders was a superior made film, though.
I thought the big diamond was somehow related to the stones and the diamonds in them.

Legend has it that on the first day of filming on the actual bridge(it is in Sri Lanka I think) Mr Ford ran thru the bridge screaming like a madman to show Spielberg that the bridge was safe to walk in.

You want a young and dashing Harrison Ford, there's the Star Wars Original Trilogy. (IV,V,VI)
I second that.... Buy without the Disney sequels
Only episodes IV , V , VI
Just had another thought. Do "The Age of Adaline." You get "old" Harrison Ford. But you also get Anthony Ingruber playing the younger version of Ford's character, and the resemblance to what Ford used to look like is remarkable. And it's a romance, and a SciFi.
I'll suggest an even younger Ford. How about "American Graffiti?"
Couldn't have helped that the guy he flipped over was 6'6" Pat Roach. It's no small wonder Ford threw his back out.

It always sort of bugged me that Willie had an 80s hairstyle in this movie set in the 30s.
Willie, shes' definitely supposed to be an annoying character. It's done that way on purpose. I think most people can't stand her. But by the end of the film, after going through everything, she seems to have changed. So I think it was cool to show character growth.
Agreed
Spielberg hired her, so that he can marry her.
Look, I don’t mind annoying characters if they’re funny. But there’s a difference between being annoying and being straight up unbearable. And Willie really draws the line of being the latter of the two.
you know intentionally annoying is still annoying right?
You can tell George Lucas was having a nasty divorce at the time and had a real hate on for females when he wrote this.
The best of all Indy movies. No holding back, funny, charming, terrifying, amazing direction, production design and score. Top notch.
I love Raiders and Crusade bit this one is my favourite. Great performances and set pieces.
Fun fact.- the giant Indian henchman Indy fights in the mines is played by British Wrestler Pat Roach. He was also in Raiders playing a giant Nazi henchman who had a fistfight with Indy around the aircraft.
Looking forward to you reacting to Crusade.
Fortune and Glory kid👍
As a child always thought Temple of Doom came before Raiders of the Lost Ark and never understood why I thought that. I didn't realize that the second movie was actually a prequel, I never payed attention to the dates shown in the movies until now.
My personal favorite Indiana Jones Film.
This has a lot of visual flashbacks and dialogue callbacks to the film Gunga Din with Cary Grant. It’s a hidden sequel.
It was more like the inspiration for Temple.
This is a prequel to the first movie. 1st movie = 1936 2nd movie = 1934 3rd movie = 1938 Marion, Willie et al are different types of women in 1930s/40s movies.
Indiana Jones and the temple of doom is amazing! Love the Trilogy! 🤠
“They’re NO Elves”😂😂🤓…. Your response is perfectly fine. I’m pretty sure I was a teenager when I saw this at the movies! It was a lot! But a great little “ right of passage”….. you do a wonderful job at your reactions….. your adorable nerdiness is perfectly genuinely hilarious! Keep up the great work, and continued success with the channel!
I just love her reactions. She inspires me to rewatch these movies
This was my favorite Indiana Jones movie. Willie was totally not ready for this journey and Short Round was a hoot. I know a lot of people didn’t care for this one, but it’s hilarious.
My favorite as well.
Willie Scot has the spectator's reactions toward the indy's adventures...
Willie was hilarious. I loved that she wasn’t a “strong” character and was just surviving. I agree that she is definitely how she is the audience and their reactions
Spielberg is married to Kate Capshaw (the leading lady of IJ - 2) for nearly 30 years...
It's true: Marion Ravenwood is the best of Indy's sidekicks.
Henry Jones Sr.
Marion was a really good character though , and the best love interest.
Love Marion!

It’s a shame they couldn’t get Connery back for 4. Having him and Marion together would’ve been a big boost to the movie (I imagine John Hurt’s character was probably written with the hopes they could get Connery to return as Henry Sr, but when he stayed retired, they just made it a new character).
@@YankeeBlues21 Sean Connery have retired of movie industrie in this time.
Marion is to Indy as Sarah-Jane is to Tom Baker (Doctor Who) in terms of best-match ups for hero and heroine.
I've loved this movie since I was a kid. Great reaction. Please add Munich to your list of movies to watch. It's a suspenseful spy thriller inspired by actual events. And Munich another Spielberg gem. 💎

Here's a clip from Munich:
"Nocturnal Research?"
"Like what kind of cream i put on my face at night?"
..wow.. just got that one..
This is my favourite Indiana Jones film!
Same here
Mine as well, followed by the raiders of the lost ark
The Miami Vice pilot is also worth covering. This series practically shaped the color tone and the fashion of the eighties. It almost changed tv landscape as hyper modern became the cool thing. The hype it created itsself makes it worth the watch !
This movie takes place 1 year prior to Raiders of the Lost Ark. There's been a debate for a long, long time as how to rank the Indiana Jones series. People don't always agree, but in most cases, like it or not, they are ranked as follows:
1. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
It actually takes place 1 year before Raiders.
Temple of Doom: 1935.
Raiders of the Lost Ark: 1936.
The Last Crusade: 1938.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: 1957.
@@b.u.l.1734 You're right. My mistake. I think the number 3 was stuck in my head because Raiders came out in '81 and Temple of Doom came out 3 years later.
The Indiana Jones movies will always be my favorite movies. And The Last Crusade is my comfort movie. It’s something special I’ve always shared with my brothers and dad
The actor who played the villain is late Amrish Puri. If you think he looks scary in this movie. This is nothing. He played many roles of villain in Bollywood movies. And he is considered best actor to play as villains. He was creepy and nightmarish. Later he played as good guy like father, police officer, or as solider in future movie.
