I think fitzgerald would have liked the 2013 Version of Gatsby best, I mean he himself refered to the Jazz age as the "age of excess" and an "age of miracles". His novel is written so metaphorical and imaginative, he was all about the Boom -effect, the rush, the ill- fated glamor of the ROARING! twenties. Baz Luhrmans Adaption perfectly portrayed the feeling of it - since you amost feel like you're drunk and partying in the 20s yourself while watching it . This movie seems so spiritless and slow in comparison. It is also quiet good, but to me it merely outlines the "outward appearance" of everything back then, it does not give you an idea of the Zeitgeist, how it felt to live in this decade, like the novel aimed to do
Does anyone know where I can find this soundtrack? I have been looking for it for a long time! I don't know why it's so hard to find! I LOVE the first song that's played!
Having seen 3 'Great Gatsby' movies (not the Alan Ladd) I can honestly say this is the best. I think Redford is terrific but the rest of the cast let him down . DiCaprio I thought was too wooden, just not sensitive enough for this story (although again I admire DiCaprio as an actor. With this Toby Stephens 'Great Gatsby' everyone in the cast seemed just right.
the one with robert redford? i heard that was actually not that bad, if not colder in interpretation, but since i didn't watch it i can't judge for myself.
It isn't. Di Caprio is a melodramatic bore in it. The movie is annoying, though ful of (modern!) music and colour and costumes. But that's not sufficient to make a fine movie, obviously....
its better than this unfaithful to text movie with ACTUALLY pretty bad acting....it shows gatsby dying in first 2 min...thats supposed to be a shock at the end...and also these characters are nothing like the characters in book, especially TOM...Only issue with new movie is music, other than that, pretty good movie...cant even watch this one but im done rant
I enjoyed this in 2000! This is a wonderful version! Thank you for posting these!
Toby in a tux... How wonderful!!!
I think that's the reason why I loved the 2013 version because it brought it to life and showed us what these parties were like.
I thought I was the only one who thought Toby Stephens was hot.. Nevermind.. (continues to drool)
I enjoyed this in 2000! This is a wonderful version and at that time I didn't know the actors. I loved that!
Thank you for posting these!
Ahhh thank's for uploading old sport
Omg it's Gustav Graves! Run for your life!
It's like watching a poor man's version of Fitzgerald's story.

thank you for your uploading.
from japan.
Toby Stephens's British accent leaks through at 6:30. "7th Infantry until June of '18."
now if you were to combine this with the 2013 one then it would be perfect
Omg Toby *_*
cant wait for the 2012 remake
Oh god gatsby is hot!

Totally agree. Leo sounds like he's saying "old spore". I think he was terrible. As you said "wooden".
hahahahahah.....yes Atlast I found the movie. Thanx for posting this
I'd totally prefer Gatsby over Tom cuz he's hot and less dominant. Daisy should've picked Gatsby over Tom since Tom was cheating on her.
does anybody know the background song???? i know its composed by carl davis, but i cant find it???
The book and the movie have some differences.
Wow this is bad.Jordan looks like she was dressed from the local thrift shop.
So was liberachi:)
what is that song called??
i prefer robert redford
Wasn't there was an Alan Ladd version that disappeared
THAT'S Gatsby!
this is pretty bad. it all seems so amateurish to me.
Believe it or not, there's a 70s movie that's even worse!
the one with robert redford? i heard that was actually not that bad, if not colder in interpretation, but since i didn't watch it i can't judge for myself.
THATS NOT HOW HE GOT GATSBY AS HIS LAST NAME!!!!!
I think Leonardo DiCaprio was a better Gatsby .
Lol having a gay time now? xD lmao

wow that is aweful
