    Left the private sector and came in as a GS15 due to my qualifications for the job. It can be done. Took a while but it can be done just apply and forget. Took me about 12 applications to even get an interview.

    I've been in the Federal govt since 2014. I wish that I'd known a lot of this stuff. I'm seeking a career change in the next few years.

    Hello, question. If I delete a resume to make room for another one, will it also delete from announcements I’ve applied for?

      No, the resume will stay with the job applications you have already submitted.

    I have a question. I've got a GS-11 job but the advertised job salary range was between 74,00 to 92,000 per year and when I receive the firm job offer the base salary was 59,000 per year. Why is that? Is that normal or do I need to see with HR to fix it.
    Thank you so much.

      That is odd. I would check the GS pay scale for the location you are in. It could have been a mistake in the job announcement or you could be receiving the incorrect pay. First check the GS pay scale then follow up with HR if needed.
      Also, to get on the higher end of the salary range, you would have needed to negotiate the step level after the TJO.

    I want to know something. My family member works as a baker in a nursing home for older people. They're great at baking, but they don't speak English very well. They've been doing this job for more than 6 years. Do you think they can work for the government?

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's possible. The most important thing is that the family member is a U.S. Citizen. After that then it would depend on how well do they speak English and the location that they would be applying in.
      If this person wants to work in government then I would first improve their English and interview skills then I would focus on translating their 6 years of baker experience into something that transfers to a government job series.

      @@armandcuret1 They are U.S. citizen. I understand. Thanks for the information.

    0341 GS9 here, want to transfer to HR. Got any tips?

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If possible pick up as much HR experience you can as a 0341. Try to take course or get familiar with HR Smart. A lot of HR job announcements want you to have direct HR experience in the government, otherwise you will be starting at a lower GS grade.
