It’s quite obvious they are milking this game for what it’s worth whilst they can. Obviously a justifiable business decision, just don’t let them profit at the expense of you guys. Don’t buy shit from this game anymore people, you are what makes the game.

And all that profit doesn’t even go back into DC. They funnel it to EverQuest for some reason. It’d be a different story if the money DC players spent went back into DC to better it. But they’re just paying the bills and anything left is sent elsewhere. It’s mind boggling that the ceo wanted to see this game last another 10 years and within a year of saying that it has plummeted to an all time low. The game requires zero skill anymore. You can just buy your artifact XP. You can buy stabilizers to get feat points. And now you can buy episode currency. Next will be renown and it’s over. You could just log in day one drop all that money abs be done within an hour maybe? And again al l that money you just dropped isn’t even going back into the game you payed al l that into. Disgusting. I haven’t subbed in over a year ans don’t miss it. I usually only bought replays but even now I’m reconsidering it.

They want us to quit.. the writing has been on the wall as the stars align. Life time subscriptions (Wolf packs), slowed release of half a**ed reused content, and now sabotage to drive player away. Take time and enjoy the game for what it is. Its the best and only superhero game with the most robust customization in gaming. Just play for fun we can't win when the hand that feeds won't feed us. They want us to die off the end is near.

Nah, that's because there's an overpopulation of dps. I queue omni as dps and healer, and 99% of the time I find a match immediately as a healer.

Event currency, source marks and time capsules i was already against these things but atleast they didn’t grant you endgame gear.
I’m so done and I was so excited to play the game after a days work. Only to see this change, i deleted the game right after because again… what is the point now?

By engagement, they do not mean actively playing the game. By engagement, they mean spending money on the game.
I would rather them do this, and sell sp so that the game can stay alive… As we can see by gatekeeping the skill point situation new players are not coming in, I wonder if every new DLC will come with a character booster… Which in my opinion is the right thing to do, but the characters need more than 70 skill points
Gatekeeping the sp is the only reason ppl still play and the only thing stopping the game from being p2p

I’ll be the first one to admit I hate grinding the currencies. (I know it’s lazy) but I don’t play the episode for the content anymore. I’m a hardcore casual I only really play for the styles. Do I buy TC? Hell yeah I do. That being said even thing I give 0 fks about the content being put out. The concept of “this is new, let’s get explore” still drives me to play. And it makes the game engaging for me as a casual. I’ll be 100% I don’t have a single piece of elite gear aside from lantern. But it’s because I don’t care to. I get the basic gear and I’m happy. This episode is really letting me down though. Despite me being a casual, and lazy I still think it’s important to earn these rewards. And in my way I do. I have to say one of my biggest disappointments though… 1 new style and a currency change for the secondary gear from the last episode is just lazy. Do better…

If you press the button to interact, he will offer you a task, but that interaction will also count for the omnipotence mission.
Because most of the players never put their foot down it has finally come down to this. This game has been dying since 2014 and nobody ever complained enough and loud enough as a group, nobody boycotted the game on Twitter or anything like that and it has finally come down to this.

I don’t like it!! You can get fully geared without running a single second of the content! We already have tons of people who get geared without knowing how to properly play the game. This will only make the experience for true players even worse when they get put in an instance with those who bought their gear and don’t know what they are doing!

I been off and on since launch. This game still holds a place in my heart but it’s about time to retire. I been on top I took breaks and grinded back. I bought $1,000s of dollars getting artifacts maxed with a main and 2 alts. I feel I beat the game back in 2014. If they want more interest than they should make a true sequel. With current graphics and rework on powers and abilities and fighting
I’ve been on and off since 2013. Got back into it hard during Covid and found a league. I still hang with them but now I’m party chat. The game still holds a huge part of me cause I do still love it at its core but it’s completely changed. The level of customization you can’t find in most games. The combat dynamic actually being smooth. I just tried FF 14 and it looks good and all but it feels so slow compared to DC which I never thought I’d find myself saying. I’ve spent an ungodly amount of money on shit and became a try hard. I’ll still play but I no longer feel comfortable giving them my money. Why spend money on replays if I can buy the marks. Ugh this is a new low

They already stopped engagement from getting increased when they raised the amount of SP's that are needed to keep your role maxed out by 5 points (from 10 for each episode to 15). Now, this. I just no longer have words to describe how down this game is going. Actually I only have insults.

Damn this is sad. I just came back to dcuo after listening to a podcast the two head people were on and it got me excited to play the game again. Now to see this just shows they haven’t learned anything, it’s fantastic they went to free episodes but this is just another divide between the devs and the players.

I only get annoyed when a specific friend of mine expects me to kill all his quest mobs for him, then he logs off half way through a dungeon and leaves me hanging, don't get me wrong, I can jold my own, its just frustrating. Update he invited me to a group, told me to kill his quest monsters for himand demanded all the psyionic remnantsI had, then he got blocked.
I get why people are not in favor of this, but I also see it as a way new players can catch up to the vets/OGs its not forcing you to buy it so the game is still playable. I will say content is a bit dull with the reused assets but didn't they just pull in new people a bit ago? shouldn't we wait a bit more for the chance that this game might flip around and they just need the extra money to pay for it? I thought they were going to redo the graphics at some point which as a style hunter I think is a much needed update. to add on as a positive to this a lot of us grew up playing this and we have jobs that don't let us play nearly as much anymore so if I can drop $20 for a small skip to try and stay in the recent content that I would not really have the time to grind for would be a good thing.

Not worth it 10 dollars get u 350 badges /87 = 4 runs so 100 dollars is 400 marks and 200 dollars 800 so u losing out on 300 marks … but ppl don’t care they probably will still buy

One thing you fail to realize is that everyone is not members, everyone can't afford to buy coins. So when there is double XP, etc., people who can't afford can utilize that time to run content. You assume everyone has money to spend. The majority of DC players grind. People like yourself have money to spend. DayBreak is a business and they're going to market what sales. Your emotional opinions don't pay DayBreak bills or employees. Stay humble😳
After the artifacts it felt like it was a pay to win, but i got to understand it same with allies, i did spend some money (a lot) but it's ok at least if u understand the game you are able to choose the correct ones.
I can understand a bug, unfinished content released (as a developer that crap happens more than i like), surprise shutdowns, broken artifacts, whatever....but paying the currency feels specially wrong. Well today i canceled the membership, hopefully they can correct the course.
Completely unrelated but I wish theyd make sp worth it as well. The small flat stat increases beyond the initial 100 is pathetic. We spend all this time grinding for sp and it just feels cosmetic...

If people want to gear up super quick and stop playing, let them. The rest of us will gear up normally and play as we usually do. No one is being hurt by this unless you only play to see your name at the top of the damage charts, like a loser.

I think most people are pissed off because it has ruined the ecosystem of the game entirely. Why group up and do raids and grind together as a group and make friends that way...when you can just buy the currency and level up straight away without the hassle? Not only does it ruin the community, but it's also indicative that they don't care about what content they're putting out when there's an option to fast track straight through it all. It's the RockStar Games approach to online content support...

PC and PS are on the same servers, so yes. Also much more on US servers than EU.

Pay to get bragging rights. I recently went back to the game for ep47. I enjoyed it, for maybe a week, then got tired of the same grind over and over again.
