Dude, I looooovvveed Minishoot adventures. It is absolutely an amazing game, and probably my favorite indie this year also. I might have to put UFO 50 up there next to it though, as I am finding myself on my Steamdeck even more, and I am not even close to finished with it yet. I will probably play through minishoot again this year though, which is insane, on the highest difficulty. Such a brilliant combination of genres
If you're not good at 2D platformers I would recommend you stay away from Bō 😅 it's pretty tough, especially towards the end. I that case I'd say go with Nine Sols. It has some platforming sections but they're not that difficult.
The fact that Animal Well is not on the list goes to show how great 2024 has been for indie gamers. Side note - do you think that MiniShoot' Adventures is enjoyable with a controller? I basically only play twin-stick shooters with mouse+keyboard, but was really hoping to play this one on the couch.
2024 is a great year for indies so far. I'd say Minishoot' Adventures is even more enjoyable with controller and it works incredibly well. That being said, I play everything with controller so I am used to that.
I played the playtest of Dungeons of Hinterberg, and I enjoyed it, I still need to get the full game. And I still need to get Balatro. Did you see the new vid about Replaced? Omg, looks awesome. Thanks for the vid, dude!
The further you get into Dungeons of Hinterberg the better it gets. The dungeons are so much more creative and well designed later on. Think twice about Balatro - it's addictive af hahaha. Haven't seen the new footage of Replaced but I will watch that later - thanks for the info - that game looks absolutely insane already.
I actually have berserk boy ready to go I just haven't started it yet. Balatro has an epic ost as well a very cool game! I don't think it's a game from this year but another fun game worth checking out is frogun. Feels like a game from the PS1 days well worth checking out
@@sixsixjd Nice man! Berserk Boy is so short so it's perfect for when you have just a couple of minutes. Balatro is sooooo addictive. I'll check out Frogun. Thanks for the recommendation
Dungeons of Hinterberg is a fantastic game. Diversity in form of characters with different genders, skin colors, sexualities, religions or what not are absolutely not the reason a game is bad. There are bad games with that and without. If you like games like The Legend of Zelda or any easy action adventure I highly recommend you check this game out.
@@feiitogamingIt can make a game bad, if you treat those topics as a mere checklist to run over an artistic work. It will drain the soul out of it, no matter how well-meaning are those checkboxes. DEI fake diversity is shallow. Only cares about identitarian stuff like sex and skin. Leaving those aside, every character has the same souless personality and boring design. That is why woke media is failing.
What's your favorite indie game of this year?
Hard to pick. Either Balatro or Animal Well.
1000xRESIST, immediately went into my top 10 when I was done playing it
Either Selaco or Secrets of Grindea. Honestly GotY contenders, that won't be nominated because they're TOO indie to get noticed.
Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus looks sooooo cool! Great video!
@@femtrooper thank you! Yeah, it's a joy to play.

I'm on my second playthrough as well. It's such an underrated and overlooked game. Hope this gets more attention. I absolutely love this game!
So far for me the tops , in no particular order, would be Selaco, Ender Magnolia, Conscript, Gestalt, Balatro and Pepper Grinder.
Nice selection of games. Pepper Grinder is still on my wishlist.
Thank you for mentioning Selaco. Best shooter I've played since Unreal Tournament and Turok.
If I'm not very good at 2D platformers, would you recommend Bo: Path of Teal Lotus or Nine Sols?

@@feiitogaming okay, thanks!
Omg that Dungeons of Hinterberg looks super ambitious for an indie game! Such a gorgeous looking game as well! Great video, Luca!
Thanks my man! Yeah Dungeons of Hinterberg is truly special!
Dungeons of Hinterberg looks really fun. I love the art style as well.
Yeah it's such a surprisingly good game. I highly recommend it.
Just beat Cat Quest 3 last night, love that game! Going to start NG+, as I miss playing it already.
@@lildrumrboy2001 I just beat it a couple of hours ago and it was fantastic! I'll probably do NG+ too.

My Indie GOTY IS Another crabs treasure. This game is a must for souls fans
Oh yeah, this game was such a surprise. Def enjoyed my time with it.
Came in here ready to fight if you didnt have Nine Sols in your list. Indie GOTY for me.
Hahaha yeah Nine Sols is great!
The Hinterberg one looks almost interesting... Unfortunately the more info I find about it, the more it reeks to DEI checklist.

BERSERK BOY HAVE THAT MEGA MAN LOOK BUT MUCH FASTER, NINE SOULS LOOK INTERESTING I WOULD PLAY THOUSE 2 BUT ALL OF THESE GAMES LOOK GOOD
Minishoot’ is so damn good! Arenas were bloody hard!
Absolutely! I love this fricking game. Gonna start a new playthrough soon haha.
Chrono Ark 👌
dungeons of hinterberg is great!!!
for me its blaspemous 2 and fields of mistria
Never heard of Fields of Mistria. I need to check that out.

Sooo, berserk boy is a ripoff of megaman, got it
No, it's its own thing and a lot of fun.
please put the name in the timestamps next time
Probably not with TOP lists - spoils the whole list.
