INCREDIBLE 6 yr old sings Wild Mountain Thyme (Will Ye Go Lassie Go) on stunning deserted island!

- Emma Sophia (age 6) performs the much loved celtic folk classic, Wild Mountain Thyme, also known as Will Ye Go Lassie Go. This video was filmed on the Great Blasket Island off the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry, Ireland. The island is a place of incredible beauty and although deserted since 1953, it boasts a rich literary heritage of the people who once lived there. Life was incredibly hard for those who lived on the island, but they were very resilient and survived through the most difficult times in Irish history. Emma Sophia was delighted to perform this song and showcase the beauty of this island.

Don't know why the comments are turned off on your Silent Night video Emma Jean, but I had to come back here and say thank you for the wonderful singing and the oh, so touching memories from long ago.
I am still sniffing. 71 years ago I was your age and sat by the fire in a terraced house in a city of factory housing of squeezed together, side-by-side, thin-walled terraces, with no other heating and only cold water, with my mother and at that time, one brother and sister. (more came later.) I loved singing and a few years later became a boy soprano in the local church choir, until my voice broke and the world of youthful stupidity seemed to offer more than I could have imagined before, and for me at six years old, as with so many before me and despite the carols of Christmas, with only a wireless, (as radios were called then,) to bring music into our lives and out of our parents mouths for a short while, Silent Night was the song of the era.
Thank you again Emma Jean, and may the spirit of song always walk by your side and hold your heart safely in his/her hands as a much-loved friend.

Really made my day. I have been haunted by this ear worm song for days now and decided to listen to it on you tube when I came home today, and there you were Emma Sophia. Amazing, What a wonderful Too-Gether. Really felt like you meant it and put your heart into each stich of the word. Loved it really loved it, and I am still grinning from ear to ear.

Oh Emma Sophia! For some reason, my notifications were turned off and I missed this video! This song… it has haunted me for many years. My ancestors are all gone now, but this song brings them back into my heart, including my wonderful Irish grandparents who immigrated to the US in the early 1900’s.
