FYI - I'm quite sure that what items can spawn are set by the main item spawn rate, so if you set it to low, only Interloper items will spawn, so you'll probably still have your ammo issues. If you can find any batteries in the cars, and the gunpowder ingredients, you can make your own ammo at Last Resort Cannery. (you know, the guys who made all those cans of sardines you find laying around)
I've started playing and watching tld long before story mode was even in the game and the game has always made me feel that way. So cozy! Except when you're the one playing... Then it's pretty scary

The long dark should sell sweatshirts or hoodies. "I went to forlorn muskeg and all I got was hypothermia", Maybe a nice watercolor print of Mystery Lake cabin, lonely lighthouse, or pleasant valley farmstead, a wolf starting at the camera, one of the need wheels with a caption below it. I would buy one with the sleep meter and "I could go for a coffee" written under it.
I would absolutely buy a sweater with something like that. Perhaps an empty water meter with the caption "that guy who drank his own pee doesn't seem so crazy right about now" 😂

Am I the only one that wishes water from toilets was nonpotable? I understand potable water from toilets with the back tank as the water in it isn't different than tap water but the tankless toilets should give nonpotable water as you are getting it directly from the toilet bowl which would be contaminated and highly unsafe to drink without boiling it first. It would also give more use to the water purification tablets cause currently they are pointless as the only way to get nonpotable water, as far as I know, is melting snow which you need fire for so you will end up boiling it anyway no need for the tablets.
@@LoneWolf5841- water in the bowl comes directly from the tank which comes through the valve connected to the wall. Tankless toilet essentially remove the tank/reservoir, but ultimately it would only be contaminated if someone didn't flush.

Brother that first episode of last season was some of the most entertaining long dark episodes ever . That episode was a non stop thrill ride i loved it!
Is that the one where he immediately gets chased by a wolf so he climbs up a rock only to see a bear on the other side? Then the bear attacked the wolf and he sprinted off into a snow storm? He literally just told this same story 1 minute after I replied.
Yeah, nothing like chuckling about your partner having to assist with potentially life threatening surgeries during a 12 hour shift. Also clearly keeps him distracted (and isn't too big in to change) if he's literally STEPPING ON revolvers while looking for a rifle.. Good lord, change your tune, dude.
Welcome back. You can start at interloper difficulty and increase baseline resource availability to medium to get hatchets and cleaning kits. Edit: I've been watching you for a while and you've been helpful to my playthroughs, so thank you. I sprained my ankle yesterday so this upload was a welcome sight to me.

Hey! Missed you! Glad to see you back! The quickest way to use the spray paint is through the spacebar radial menu. It's with the other mapping type stuff (bottom most option) . I know you're not there yet, but there is an almost guaranteed rifle kit spawn at the abandoned park office near the entrance to Milton. It's usually under the stove or on the shelves next to the bed.

Theres a few good tld streamers. Myusualme just finished a 500 day interloper run. Lithar TLD does really good stuff with very little commentary which creates a nice asmr feel. HomeAloneGaming is another good one. I do like Accurize's calm voice though, but there's plenty of channels for good content.

Glad to see you switching to a series you're excited about :) I hate to dampen your mood, but you set interloper loot tables when you changed the loot spawn from medium to low. That means you won't find any loot you can't get in interloper except for the rifle as that's its own setting. You'll need to set the loot spawn to medium at least if you want to find things like the firearm cleaning kit, hunting knives, and prepper caches. Sorry...
Just coming back to this to comment, on the topic of "Best Stalker Starts": I recently started my first Stalker run. Spawned directly outside the mine connecting Desolation Point to Crumbling Highway. Early, early morning. A little dark to see. Hit the mine quick to stock up on some instant coal, and rested until light. Hit the Stone Church quick, looped down the Katie's Secluded Corner and scored a bow, and my first arrow. Left through the mine to Crumbling Highway, dodged the wolves while hitting the Harris home. Came out into to Coastal Highway, the FIRST car had a rifle laying across the backseat! Already had scored a knife, and a hatchet along the way. Headed for the Waterfront Cottages, had bunnies for dinner, Knife, Hatchet, Rifle and ammo, Storm Lantern with extra oil all in tow. Felt like a solid start! Been loving this series, just wanted to swing back to the Fresh Start to leave this. Cheers!

Cool to see a vet trying a new feature he's never tried before. Another use I've found recently for the spray paint is arrow marking the safe routes through the muskeg in case I get trapped by a sudden blizzard or fog and can't see the way anymore. I've spent a lot of time in the muskeg at times, and still can easily get lost in bad visibility. The orange arrows stick out in just about any weather and can point any way you want, so I get them pointing to the next safe passage between Spence Homestead and the train tracks
The last time I played this game was the morning my dog died. I loved this game, it really brought me peace and immersion in a hard time. I made my way too a building because this game doesn’t let you save outside and went too lay with him. Something just told me too. Within minutes he was gone. He had been perfectly fine hours before. I would give anything for those few minutes I spent walking too that building back, anything.

Hi! Completely new to this game and channel, just saw it on game pass and got curious. I've never watched content like this but for some reason I sat through the whole hour and felt like no time passed at all. Partly due to your comforting demeanour and voice but also because i guess i had an interest i didnt know about : ) Hope you and your family are doing well, youve given me something to binge over my 2 week easter break!
I like that when you were searching the safe you said: “Big bucks! No Whammies!” And then you got actual money and were like “Ugh.” Least useful bucks ever.
I know what you mean about some of the mechanics taking the fun out of the game. (I'm looking at you sprain mechanic) I haven't been playing much over the last year because of the changes to scent, sprains, Timberwolves, etc. I like the Timberwolves on a gun run, but I use so much ammo it's crazy. Especially if I go to Bleak Inlet. Have you considered playing on one of the older versions through the steam experimental system? I haven't done it yet, but since I often complain about "Back in my day..." stuff. I though I'd try 'em out and see if it was just nostalgia or do I actually prefer the older versions of TLD.
There is a mod to remove sprains (or at least there used to). But honestly, without sprains dodging wolves is simply too easy. You can almost always climb along some super steep edge then. TLD is about everything being a tradeoff between time, danger and ressources. Without sprains it's not as balanced IMO. That said, you could maybe make a better system guranteeing nerfing climbing on cliffs - for example a chance to slip and fall down.
You got a mention by a player in the long dark forum the other day. By the way, I've tried pilgrim (to learn the maps) and cleaning kits were sparse in that too. I think they keep the number of kits low but you can repair things for free in one of the newer areas (sorry to be vague). I'm not sure if you can repair firearms there? Maybe someone else knows?
@@renaudalarie4283 I go to custom. Select interloper. Set baseline resources to medium. This makes it so things like knives, hatchets and top quality clothes will spawn in. I change loose item availability from low to medium. Add rifle and revolver and there ya go. Interloper difficulty with stalker level gear. I call it stalkaloper. I also got like half of them from the Timberwolf summit.
@ 55:00 when i swear i saw cured leather leaving the room where you found the revolver, all i could think bout was making the gloves better from what you said earlier in episode dope series
I normally only follow TH-camrs that make a difference (and sometimes get themselves de-platformed), but I like your style. You are the worst (experienced) TLD player I know, regardless you made me realize (all over again) why we all love this game so much. Good Luck with your endeavors!
I feel you regarding the settings! I want interloper difficulty with very few ressources but I still want to be able to rarely find tools are cleaning kits. Do you guys know the settings to have everything spawn but the least loot possible?
Spray paint has been a lifesaver on some interloper playthroughs. I use it to mark supply stockpiles I leave behind and to mark meat I leave in the snow after processing a bear or moose

Came out into to Coastal Highway, the FIRST car had a rifle laying across the backseat! Already had scored a knife, and a hatchet along the way. Headed for the Waterfront Cottages, had bunnies for dinner, Knife, Hatchet, Rifle and ammo, Storm Lantern with extra oil all in tow.
Felt like a solid start! Been loving this series, just wanted to swing back to the Fresh Start to leave this.

Cool to see a vet trying a new feature he's never tried before. Another use I've found recently for the spray paint is arrow marking the safe routes through the muskeg in case I get trapped by a sudden blizzard or fog and can't see the way anymore. I've spent a lot of time in the muskeg at times, and still can easily get lost in bad visibility. The orange arrows stick out in just about any weather and can point any way you want, so I get them pointing to the next safe passage between Spence Homestead and the train tracks
The last time I played this game was the morning my dog died. I loved this game, it really brought me peace and immersion in a hard time. I made my way too a building because this game doesn’t let you save outside and went too lay with him. Something just told me too. Within minutes he was gone. He had been perfectly fine hours before. I would give anything for those few minutes I spent walking too that building back, anything.

Edit: are you on pc? You can hit space to get into spray paint quickly. There are symbols on you can spray that would show on the map and some that don't.

I would hope you keep up your last series. The start was very intense and convinced me to buy the game myself. Its too bad about the cleaning kit spawns were broken.
Also they stated to put more stuff in crates occasionally.

Hi! Completely new to this game and channel, just saw it on game pass and got curious. I've never watched content like this but for some reason I sat through the whole hour and felt like no time passed at all. Partly due to your comforting demeanour and voice but also because i guess i had an interest i didnt know about : )

I know what you mean about some of the mechanics taking the fun out of the game. (I'm looking at you sprain mechanic)
I haven't been playing much over the last year because of the changes to scent, sprains, Timberwolves, etc. I like the Timberwolves on a gun run, but I use so much ammo it's crazy. Especially if I go to Bleak Inlet.
Have you considered playing on one of the older versions through the steam experimental system? I haven't done it yet, but since I often complain about "Back in my day..." stuff. I though I'd try 'em out and see if it was just nostalgia or do I actually prefer the older versions of TLD.
There is a mod to remove sprains (or at least there used to). But honestly, without sprains dodging wolves is simply too easy. You can almost always climb along some super steep edge then. TLD is about everything being a tradeoff between time, danger and ressources. Without sprains it's not as balanced IMO. That said, you could maybe make a better system guranteeing nerfing climbing on cliffs - for example a chance to slip and fall down.
I played this game years ago when it was VERY basic and absolutely loved it then, they’ve added so much stuff now and I can’t wait to get back into it

By the way, I've tried pilgrim (to learn the maps) and cleaning kits were sparse in that too. I think they keep the number of kits low but you can repair things for free in one of the newer areas (sorry to be vague). I'm not sure if you can repair firearms there? Maybe someone else knows?

@@renaudalarie4283 I go to custom. Select interloper. Set baseline resources to medium. This makes it so things like knives, hatchets and top quality clothes will spawn in. I change loose item availability from low to medium. Add rifle and revolver and there ya go. Interloper difficulty with stalker level gear. I call it stalkaloper.
I also got like half of them from the Timberwolf summit.
@ 55:00 when i swear i saw cured leather leaving the room where you found the revolver, all i could think bout was making the gloves better from what you said earlier in episode dope series

I feel you regarding the settings! I want interloper difficulty with very few ressources but I still want to be able to rarely find tools are cleaning kits.
Do you guys know the settings to have everything spawn but the least loot possible?
Spray paint has been a lifesaver on some interloper playthroughs. I use it to mark supply stockpiles I leave behind and to mark meat I leave in the snow after processing a bear or moose
