At 73 years of age and still riding, I cannot get enough of you wringing out whatever you get on. It gets my old heart pumping, and I feel alive all over! Thanks for your outstanding videos!
Thanks Jello! I've only been riding the 650 for a few minutes but in terms of sportiness the 500 and the 650 are pretty similar. The new ZX-4RR however is a different story :D
i love this road!! the bike sounds really good, I really like that you can push these small supersports to the real limit and not being totally illegal. Nice video !
You ever think about capturing the induction sound of the bikes you ride? Sometimes it's better than the exhaust sound like on this bike and the ninja 400
always say you can have more fun on a mid range bike than a monster, this is 451cc, basically a 400 with a bigbore kit. it looks like it works incredibly well, great engine, suspension and tyres. glad to hear you're making the tyres squeal on hard braking and it's not letting you down at all. I also note that your occasional grinding noises mean you are still customising the footpegs in your usual style!!
Really starting to love the mid class motorcycles such as the 400 and 500/650 bikes. You can really ring them out and have fun. On a 636 or 1000 you would get hurt or in jail. The middle class bikes are perfect and just fast enough
The average speed is similar for most vehicles. If you use it as a daily driver the smaller engine would be the right choice. For weekends I would take the bigger engine.
Your shifts are so smooth! After 5000km I still don't get the shifts consistently that smooth, impacting my confidence. I adjusted the clutch cable free play to 2mm and also the throttle to have less free play as well, but it's still very unforgiving. Resulting in a very jittery ride where I'm being pushed back and forth half of the times I shift. Should I put the free play back to factory configuration (very loose) or should I work on my skills?
Heyy, love your vids. I'm an indie game dev and was thinking of making this little riding game. Would it be fine to use sounds from your vids with the proper credits? Thanks.
I'm a Kawasaki fan...but it seems to me that the differences compared to the 400 are really minimal in terms of performance. I'm honestly quite disappointed. "What's the difference between the Encom OS9 operating system and this one?"
I really enjoying your videos. I want to purchase bike nr 27 or 28🤔 lost counting. 46y young/old and the last years i am downsizing. I've had all kind of bikes. From motorscooter to sport touring, to hypersport to cruisers and naked bikes. I did a testride on the Honda CL500 and today on the Z500. My wife should choose the CL500 and it is remarkable that non of the younger people I know would choose the Kawasaki. But I am open for both. Similar riding with the Honda and Kawasaki although I think the honda engine delivers it more smooth. A little bit more torque? I don't know. The Z500 is for many as seen as an up right position but it is still more sporty than the Honda CL. Can be a weird thought but i think the Ninja 500 can be more comfortable than the Z500. My daughter (20years) said the blue CL500 or the black/grey, green wheels Z500. My son (18y) no doubt the Z500 or ninja. I always felt young but now if i ask which to choose. People said. For your age (wtf) take the Honda. It is nice seeing that you did both. Riding in higher but also in LOWER rpm. The bike I've tested today. The Z500 was brand new with 0 km's on it so i didn't went higher than 6000 rpm and surprisingly around 4000/5000 rpm you are easy going with traffic. So I have a luxury problem right now. Choosing the Honda CL500 or the Z500/ninja500. Honda 5y warranty and road assistance in Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg and Kawasaki is 4y warranty and road assistance. Great review!!!
@Schaaf the Z500 is off the list because of the driving position but the Eliminator 500 took the Z500 place. I like the more upright driving position. So choosing between this Eliminator, CL500 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Different models but seat position is all upright. The thing is.......the CL500 is not a sales success so the 2023/2024 colors remain and I believe Honda will discontinue this CL500 as soon as the stock runs out in Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg. So this last is also a factor to keep in mind.
It’s got pretty good guts for a small bike, can easily power wheelie in first gear with proper technique. Good torque and short wheelbase makes it extremely fun in technical roads. It wants to float the front over every hill hahah
@@insanetharapy6948 i put the biggest heaviest (so quietest) aftermarket exhaust on mine, it did actually sound much better. Only after the oem one rusted off.
I agree but probably for different reasons. To my ears fully faired sports bikes have to have a 3 or 4 cylinder engine when it comes to sounds. Putting an aftermarket exhaust on a parallel twin sports bike only makes the non-matching engine sound louder. But not nicer to listen to.

I have to live 45y more to be on your lvl, and dream to be able to ride a bike on your age. All best to you motomind bro !
Thanks a lot, Monk!!
Thanks for being there for us, Schaaf. Your videos always make my blood hotter.
It's amazing how good it looks. Although I'm confused of the purpose of the 650 now, considering how sportier this one is.
Thanks Jello! I've only been riding the 650 for a few minutes but in terms of sportiness the 500 and the 650 are pretty similar. The new ZX-4RR however is a different story :D
@@SchaafZX-4RR video soon? 🙂

true that! Thanks!
That’s because they’re not super sports, but they are what most people would ride if they were honest about their skill level.
So awesome. It looks smooth and aggressive at the same time. 👏🏼
Thanks a lot

I'm not, it's just the long blobs underneath the pegs ;) Thanks!
@@Schaaf good to see you're still having fun though.
My friend can you please do a review on the Kawasaki ZX-4RR?
I'd love to see your ring out the engine to 16,000 RPM.
Looks good and doesn't sound bad for a 500cc! Will definetivly give the smaller supersports bikes a try in spring!
Definitely worth a try!

Absolutely
I cant wait to get my bike! will take so long until then though!
Your 4 -500 cc motorcycles are probably the most fun you can have on 2 wheels. I sold my cb 500 for a cb 1000 and I wish I kept it.
oh no!
The average speed is similar for most vehicles. If you use it as a daily driver the smaller engine would be the right choice. For weekends I would take the bigger engine.

Dieses Motorrad ist ganz schön flott unterwegs. Bestimmt schön handlich. 😎👍👍
Almost time to treat yourself to a new pair of gloves! Nice review as always, many thanks.
For you, this or the RS457?
Sicher ein gutes Motorrad !
Mann😊, kann sich auf Kawasaki verlassen 😊!
Ich finde, sie hört sich zum fahren angenehm an . Das gefällt mir 😊.
Das denke ich auch
Excellent review. Do you prefer this or the RS457?
This
I'd love to know your thoughts on the Z500 by comparison. I'm tempted to get that for relaxed ergos and clean air flowing over me in the mountains.
The Z is fantastic too but it has weird ergos for taller people
Its hard to see you to ride sport bike, even this class. Hope to see more
Thanks

Just practice. I probably needed something between 50K and 100K km of experience to get it right ;)

judging by the review between the Ninja and the RS is the Kawasaki better?

hi shaaf, what is your favorite naked going from 120 to max?
Habe die Ehre...😊
Servus!!!
Amazing!! Is rev matching required if the bike has a slipper clutch?
Nope, its still a good technique to use, but especially with a slipper clutch it becomes less important.
absolutely needed. otherwise, you will end up burning your clutch soon and damaging the timing chain.
Die Hausstrecke Nähe Wiener Neustadt ist schon nett 👍
Vor allem praktisch :D
Modernized GPZ500S?
What do you say, this or the CBR500?
whatever feels better to you
I would say CBR500 if you are over 6ft, and Ninja 500 if you are under 6ft. The Ninja is a bit lighter & therefore sportier.
Hello!! Is there going to be any more vídeos with your old CB500? 😢 Have a good day!!😊
Hey @Schaaf, were you hearing the chain while riding? mine seems to have a very noisy chain even when lubed and adjusted
I did not!
Hey, I'm curious-why haven't I seen an R3 review from your side yet?
Because I can't choose the bikes I get to ride
i advertised you yesterday on a big french motorbike youtube channel
Merci beaucoup

Aprilia and CFMOTO and Honda for sure

So ein 180° Twingo klingt immer etwas bemüht.
Kein Vergleich mit einer Aprilia RS 457.

Ok
Unpopular opinion: they sound better stock
Sound better when u cant hear them 😂
Parallel twins are like the i4s (especially turbo charged ones) of the car world. they do not need to be made louder.
180° twin do sound pretty funny (in a good way, imho). I think, people sometimes put very loud exhausts on them and sound becomes dreadful.
