I like how you explore different sections of the country, and not confine yourself to the Lima metro area.

If I'm not wrong, at 3:37 they are performing a dance which was started in a place in Peru called El Carmen, which is considered the epicenter of Afro-peruvian music and tradition. There, you will find a house called La Casa Ballumbrosio, where the influential and virtuoso dancer and violinist (as you see with the child), Amador Ballumbrosio Mosuqera. He was one of the best Stamp dancers there ever was, and his sons (which released an album last year under the name Los Hermanos Ballumbrosos) had evolved the dance into much of what you see in the streets of Chincha. Beautiful culture!

One of the oldest cultures to land in the Peru, and they still saved some of the practices from their land.

Man you travel to Perú on the winter season, but that citys you visited (Chincha, Pisco) can be very hot in summer, I even get sun burns, and felt like be in the Sahara with all the sand. If you like the jungle, you can visit the east citys in Perú, more warm weather but to much rainy also, and very diferent landscape, all vegetation and green.

You has visited a JEWEL in the coast of Peru. The history can be sad for moments but that same history gave us, the peruvian the most beautiful of different cultures as asians, spanish, europeans ad african also. My grand-grand parents worked in a plantation located forward Chincha, in Pisco exactly. They were free citizens obviously, but I can imagine how their grand-parents life was. My grand-mother was born in Pisco(Ica), yeah the city where Pisco(drink) was born and although everybody in my "current" family are citizen, the poorness made she work in a plantation, too in the 50s&60s, my mom lived her first years(63-69) in a plantation, in CALLAO, next to/beside of the same International Airport exactly(PART OF THAT PLANTATION EXISTS YET, including its CHAPELL and it can be visited). So, that's WHY I consider myself as a Afro-Peruvian descendent. And I am SO PROUD to be and Afro-peruvian descendent, but as we peruvian say, we "have" some from everything and everywhere, and that's why we, peruvians enjoy SO much, Afro Peruvian MUSIC, you have to listen it ! :)

I can't believe you didnt go to El Batan restaurant, it's a little bit more expensive than the other restaurants in town but believe it's highly recommended.
By the way the places where you went like Hacienda San Jose and El Carmen Alto neighborhood were definitely a good choice, and of course going during the Verano Negro celebration is even better. I love the african-peruvan culture and music.

Just discovered your videos and love them. I guess you know that Peru is in the middle of Winter right now. The cold is caused by the high humidity, not by low temperatures. Have you discovered the Lucuma fruit yet? Lucuma ice cream is incredible. They even sell lucuma frapucinos in Starbucks which are great. A nice neighborhood to walk around in Lima is Miraflores.

An American who visited Ica/Pisco. I almost got robbed. One lady pushed me as her accomplice put his hand in my pocket to steal my wallet. A dangerous place for tourists.
