Thanks Gary for doing this video. I really like to get your expertise on reading the river/ gravel bars it really helps me because bedrock is hard to come by in my neck of the woods 🎉🎉🎉
That was a fantastic very informative video, thanks Gary, I really appreciate the way you share your knowledge, your explanation of how the flow works and why you dig where you do is invaluable to us mere mortals, I love videos like this that show us how to track the prime spots. Thank you for taking the time to educate us.
Well Howdy again from Montana Gary! Over two grams from a small flood gold area, who’s going to turn that down. Glad to see your smiling face and great attitude this morning. I noticed you didn’t weigh Jeff’s gold, it must have been a little on the lighter side. Great explanation of the river working and using those large boulders to find the best spot. Have a “golden day!”
As always I enjoyed your video. Very entertaining and educational. Sure is beautiful country! Thanks for making these videos. I understand it isn't an easy task to do especially climbing around and not having much space to set up camera. Not to mention hauling equipment along with prospecting tools. It's much appreciated on this side. Great job. You guys are funny to boot
Been watching your videos since day. One specifically the ones about reading gravel. Cause my area doesn't have a whole lot of big gold. So usually I work the gravels, but I'm telling you. I've learned a lot from these videos. And I'm really good at reading a gravel and finding gold. If it's around, so thank you, sir. I appreciate you.
I appreciated what you said about 100 year floods taking out & washing away everything. If it didn’t wash away everything, then there would be much bigger trees in that area. But as it is, there are only smaller trees & brush that’s been beat up by the current. I also appreciate you taking your time to give more detailed information throughout this video. I know most people don’t have the patience to tolerate details like this, but I ain’t most people & as far as I can’t tell, I’m going home every time with more gold than impatient people are. So thanks for the details on how to read a river. You’ve made an instant sub out of me the first video of yours that I watched. Have a blessed day.
Gary: on that sloped bedrock... run some water over it.... I find that there are small pieces hiding in the lil nooks and crannys of the bedrock... Good video...Thankyou...
Greetings Gary...Gilgold Prospecting San Antonio Tx where every day is a Gold'n day... good luck on up coming 2024 nugget hunt. I request challenging you on weekend nuggets hunt between the two of us! Let the public see the best of legends! -skycloud-
Hi, I found your TwoTeos channel a couple of weeks ago, and your videos are very educational. My partner and I recently joined the Central Valley Prospectors, but we would still appreciate any advice you might have. Thank you for sharing your years of experience. Thank You
Decent pans! Two grams keeps a fella going. You got your gold knucklehead tee shirt! Good luck at raffle time! I'll try to remember to wear mine Saturday morning. See you two then! -Lars
I never thumbs up your videos, I did this time, but by far you’re in the top 3 of prospecting videos. I always share yours to those who want knowledge. Thank you for your knowledge shared!
Can I ask, have you much knowledge of Goodyears bar area? Recently acquired a claim there and would appreciate any info you’d be able to provide. Can talk off site if you’d prefer, I would so as to keep privacy. If not no worries. Appreciate all you share!!
@@TwoToes ? No clue of the dig or its location. I live in the Bay Area so money is frequently tight for me. I’ve acquired a piece of the brush creek mine. Heading there the following weekend for my birthday.
There's a cure for that water Gary. In fact, the water makes it EASIER to pull the gold out of that crevice. The Aussies call it a Yabi pump, but it's just a suction tube. I take a toy squirter and cut the narrow top off... it works great! I've poured water into dry crevices to use it because it gets it there deep and pulls everything out. You gotta get one!
Great Job Gary. Would've a hand pump help to get more of the potential gold in the water for this example? I'm just wondering when to cut bait- thanks for your guidance.
What I’m learning from watching all your content over and over is that your methodically looking for bigger heavier gold. Do you ever sit on a big gravel bar and run a ton of material in pursuit of a lot of fine gold?
I agree I bet there’s some great pieces there if you can get to them (hand dredge/yabbi pump?) so did you get the biggest piece?? Great video thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
I found an old pill bottle dropped on the side of Mosquito ridge road next to the North fork of the middle fork American River and the pill bottle contained approximately 3.5 grams of gold. Some gold miner dropped it somehow and here I am with some free gold. I feel kind of bad that someone lost their find but there's no way to find out who it belongs to.
Jeff...... I figured it out.....Gary's been cheating all these years.....he's a leprechaun. Wanna prove it? Go get a 5 gallon jug of water from the store and let him pan it and you'll see👍. Don't get the Home Depot water......they've even got gold in their sand🙃🍦
“It’s almost impossible to get gold out of wet gravels” C’mon, Gary. You know that’s not entirely accurate. Get yourself a cheap yabby/hand pump and get a sense of what you’re leaving behind! And, if you like what you see, buy a more durable one that you can put in your backpack.
Why do people disparage books? Books are usually written by people who have the knowledge, and want to pass it on to as many people as possible. Books were the only way to do that before the internet. Books were the beginning , continuation and development of the industrial revolution. Books are still the sources for the majority of information. Books can contain far more information than a shart video. Books should not be disparaged, it is ''information heresy.''😊 .
Come on two toes, I know you know this stuff! You have played with that "Acme Stud Finder" ( PI machine) too long LOL! You just walk out on a gravel bar with an old metal box Tessoro ElDorado with 10 turn pots and fine tune for background black sand and where it nulls out is where the "streak" of black sand lies and that is exactly where the gold laid down with it. You can even outline the streak and dig that up leaving the background noise of less than 10 colors per pan go. No one but you and Jeff look for nuggets to film for your subs. The rest of us old heads know (and you do to) that the money is in the flour gold, not nuggets. If that were not true, how did you come by the knowledge of Amalgamation techniques LMAO! Your living a double life Two Toes LOL!
Morning! Love your videos, rookie panner here and your videos have helped me learn so much about this hobby! Thank you for all that you do!

Right on Gary, that’s not bad at all. Over 2 grams is a great day.

Hi Gary - a non related post with 2 questions: what weigt Rock hammer do you use and were you in the Corps, years? Loved your lat video.
I use a Estwing 14 oz. rock pick hammer. I tried but they wouldn't have me - too much metal holding me together, my sons are all Marines.

Do you ever sit on a big gravel bar and run a ton of material in pursuit of a lot of fine gold?
I have plans to do just that this fall when it cools down, no shade on the gravel bars. lol
Vogus Prospecting uses yaby pump, possibly home made in the wet spots to get the gold.
Wow nice haul . Get too much...then share. Ha Ha
2 more days. 👍✌️🇺🇸
Interesting video.
Thanks.
How would you judge if a river would be a likely source of gold?
Just by digging? Or are there other factors?

Great result for that spot with just a pan. Why do these spots all look so familiar?
Going to have to take you there someday. lol

I do not know if a yabbi pump is legal in California. I don’t remember ever getting an answer when I have asked or if I have even asked Gary.
They are, I have one just didn't have it with me that day.
@@TwoToes thanks for the clarification Gary I’m in AZ so I’m not familiar with CA
Gary the gold guru
Do your laws not allow the use of hand suction dredge? In Australia, we use a yabby pump normally used for getting fishing bait.
