Hip mobility is really important to get low. If you start playing at a young age you can easily get low, but at an older age it's really important to do mobility and stability exercises
Attention to Detail on Jrue Holiday?? he’s one of the most underrated scorers and defenders in the game in my opinion but he gets overlooked because he’s not so flashy.
The first detail of relaxation lit my light-bulb, that really changed everything, change of pace is really just us relaxing and tensing our muscles and body and switching between a tense and relaxed state.
best basketball page ever dawg. been watching y'all since i was in high school trying to make it to the nba. please make a video for guys that played in high school but still want to go the pro route. where it be g league, overseas, nba etc.. like so he can see this because i'm gonna get back into the gym and try to walk-on @ Rutgers
As a big man who's able to just about perform any and every post move but is tryna expand his game on out at the parks and gyms man the timing of this video is PERFECT dude thank you!!
4:05 is sooooooo true. I taught myself how to play basketball. Got absolutely obsessed freshman to sophomore years of college. Tore my meniscus while warming up, had to wait 6 months to get back into basketball like I did pre-injury. A year later after cooking people like I used to I started to get busier with work & senior year school work and put on about 10/15 extra pounds. I kept trying to play the game as I did pre-injury while I was putting on more weight - the bad kind. Eventually I had a really bad ankle sprain and it happened about a week before the gym I went to closed for a 3 month renovation. When that renovation ended I went back to hooping started getting cooked by other people... a lot... I was 25 pounds _heavier_ than I was 3 months ago. I eventually I hit the weight room to work on getting back to the weight I was pre-injury (ultimately 10 pounds more than pre-injury) and my game started to go back to cooking people instead of being cooked. Now that covid hit pause on everything I'll have to do most of that work again, but now I know how to do it safely. I love this channel details make all the difference and I love it for that reason.
I always felt weird when I get down to the earth to do crossovers though I’m passing defenders left and right.. I feel better about myself now.. thanks brother 🙌 I needed this video
Dude thank you so much. I can’t even explain how much this helped me. I work on dribbling all the time and my handles are great but for whatever reason it just never translated to game time ball handling. Like I could handle the ball I could just never do anything with it. I finally understand why. This is literally mind blowing for me 😂
Great and very informative content. Tried the holds and it felt difficult. Shows how strong these players are doing this night in night out. It feels much more stressful on the knees. But with more strength and balance training it should get better.
It's curious the things players need to be able to do which require strength and some that require relaxation and simple mobility. Relax, let yourself drop, but then be able to hold that and swivel to go in another direction. These are amazing to see and a big part of pro ball. In college there are far fewer players who do them well or need to.
This is something I’m always teaching/sharing with players. I refer to it as levels. All running is a type of falling and driving a basketball even more so. Our shoulders act as a brake/balance so like if they are even or behind our hips it’s fucking impossible to accelerate. We want our shoulders in front of our hips and feet with our body on a diagonal plane when accelerating on drives. Also when your shoulders are back you’re on your heels as opposed to toes so there is no locomotion/force in your steps pushing off...
So ironic. I was trying to “get low” for my dribble pull up to fake defenders out. And in the middle of me practicing I get a notification on this vid. Great timing and thanks for the help.
I play football ⚽️ as I’m from the UK but I still watch your videos since the athleticism in basketball can certainly help in football. I just wanted ask how would I incorporate mobility work with ball control drills as a footballer such as the drill shown at 2:46
One important thing that I think you forgot to mention is balance. Balance is key because even if you have all these other aspects of getting low, without balance the momentum will take you with it and mess up your dribble
Can you put up a video about playing with your back facing the basket? I think its important to teach players how to eliminate defenders that love to hand check
I don´t understand why isometric should be used to get strength, cause I will "hold" that position only a split second. Would squads and plyometrics be a good alternative?
Attention to Detail Larry Bird & or Paul Pierce & Joe Johnson too. The basketball IQ Larry Bird had was different fr he literally was telling niggas wat he was about to do and then did it and they couldn't do it. With Paul Pierce, he was smooth w the ball and knew how to get to his spot on the floor and regardless of his lack of atlanticism, he still could give anybody 25 to 30 tho 🤷🏽♂️

Kyle Lowry attention to detail. He’s the master of doing all the little things and is very underrated!

That last part is basically my issue. I want to get low during games & attack the basket but my brain avoids it due to chronic knee pain.
This is the best basketball Channel
Ever
This channel always has the exact video that I’m looking for

The lockdown defender video you made really turned me into a pure lockdown
Helps so much if you feel your gonna get the ball stolen if the defenders right there hit them with a low crossover
Needed this my dad always tells me I’m too high
my mom says the same thing but not about playing hoop
@@robertcane7432 i guess that was the inital joke
Helps a lot if you also drop your shoulders depending on what side you’re driving from....
@@robertcane7432 uhhhhhhh
Inoke Rogoyawa so what about going left to right
This is mad helpful
Do a video on the right posture when handling the ball
I don’t know much about yoga but reminds me of the “warrior” (?) position
Coleman you different bro I swear I just hurt my back yesterday trying to get low the wrong way yesterday thanks brova
At this point you've essentially broken down every part of kyries game but I would still love one complete attention to detail.
Coach, this looks great. Thanks for breaking this all down.
Great video! Good to break down what it actually means to get low and how to practically apply it. Keep up the good work!
This is super benefitial for me. Thank you sir 🙏🤞
Athletes usually try to get to low position fast by lifting both feet up in the air while we simultaneouly drop our hips
So ironic. I was trying to “get low” for my dribble pull up to fake defenders out. And in the middle of me practicing I get a notification on this vid. Great timing and thanks for the help.
Crazy!
It's vital to teach your body to be comfortable in such a low positions
This is literally how you become shifty great video 💪🏽
Love your attention to detail!

If so, perhaps a separate video on that?
Very VALUABLE!! Thank you
this is what every dribbler need to know

You are genius man ✌ Thank you so so------so much💪
High quality video! Off topic: What shoes are you wearing in the video? 🔥
That's really gonna help me.
Should we do this before every ball handing drill or before a shooting/finishing workout
Can you put up a video about playing with your back facing the basket? I think its important to teach players how to eliminate defenders that love to hand check
Beat?
Are these "low" positions of your lower extremities make them prone to injuries?
If you’re weak in these positions and not mobile enough to get into them, yes. But that’s why we work on it!
@@ByAnyMeansBasketball Thanks sir! Great content

By Any Means Basketball BET BRO🔥🔥
I play football you can get low by just dropping your hips or bringing your head to your knees
I’ve been dribbling the basketball and I’m thinking if I’m doing it right because my back ends up hurting
Could we get another attention to detail for dlo (If needed)
Yea it's best to start high standing up then naturally drop low and attack and do everything else.
Love basketball
Can you do a breakdown on either Magic Johnson or Larry Bird
ATD on younger guys like Anthony Edwards please! Or if we're keeping it NBA, ATD or breakdown on Shai-Gilgeous Alexander or CJ McCollum!
Quality content 👌
What are those shoes you're wearing?
Can we get one on Lou Williams
I don´t understand why isometric should be used to get strength, cause I will "hold" that position only a split second. Would squads and plyometrics be a good alternative?
Straight to the point and very informative with simple understandable keys !
Thats how you truly make a tutorial video.

Can you do a part 2 of the secret to Kawhi Leonards defense

You should be an NBA trainer for sure.
Hi I've been experiencing a bit of back pain after doing some of these drills. What could the problem be?
Bad posture
@@antoineproductions6069 my best guess would be catching your body lowering with your kower back instead of your quads
