I sold a Vehicle to a lady (here in South Australia) and the very next day I notified the Department of Motor Vehicles of the Change of Ownership. She had 2 Weeks to do likewise, but she didn’t. She took the Vehicle to an Aboriginal Community in the Northern Territory, approximately 1800 Kilometres North of here, but kept in on the South Australian Registration. Some 8 or so Months later when she went to Renew the Registration on her South Australian Car, it was refused because of her failure to Notify on the Vehicle I had sold her. She then had to Notify them of Change of Ownership, Pay the appropriate Taxes and Pay the appropriate Fines; all this before she was able to deal with her Car. It cost her a small fortune. I was notified about this, just in case i had received any Parking Fines or Speeding Tickets since I had sold the Vehicle and wanted to institute Legal action against the lady.
Growing up in Houston, TX tow truck drivers were a sketchy bunch. I knew a few and they were just as likely to sell you cocaine as tow your car and sell it to a chop shop. I guess that's the big city. It's great to see a wonderful couple like you add some class and dignity to the profession.
Ya’ll- talking about money in suitcases…I have a friend whose Dad would go on trips ( sometimes to casinos) and he kept his money in Paper Bags ( about the size of brown lunch bags)- and he’d stick them in his suitcases!! That’s crazy,too!
I love watching your videos, especially when i know where some of these spaces are. Was just in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg this past week. My buddy flew all the way from Seattle because he enjoyed the area so much 3 years ago. I told my friend when we went to gatlinburg… “if you arent paying to park, you’re doing it wrong.” We ended up parking off river road in a garage that was in the area of where the old Christ in the Smokies was. Walked past the infamous Five Guys on the parkway… i have no clue how you get cars out of that tight little alley, not sure how they get down in there. I could travel to that area 100 times and never get tired of the area. LOL I am just happy we did not have to visit 221 Newman Road.
As someone about to turn 60, I take offense to people thinking “60 something” equals an inability to understand basic concepts such as you gotta PAY TO PARK!!! 😂

I'll say this about Jeff as a former tow truck driver myself - he tows properly. He doesn't yank, jerk, drag or otherwise move cars improperly (contrast his methods with this guy @towyruckeryt). I've never seen him break a pawl or create alignment problems for the vehicles he tows.
I know what you mean. I am 80 and thought that a driveway was in front of store. It look like a drive but it wasn’t and of course it all happen because of my age. Stop before any damage done got towed back and all was good. Before I left another car left the parking lot by the same non existent drive but this time as it was a younger person the reason it happen was now because the partial drive didn’t have any warning flags or barriers to show it is not a drive. Funny thing same tow driver. Got to love it.

My brother's post military career is restoring vintage cars. He's got a fairly large business and goes to a lot of car shows, but doesn't take suitcases of cash with him. Sounds more than a little sketchy to me! Also, I would have made the rock dragger crawl under the car and remove the rock, then push it across the parking lot to where it belongs. You're waaayyy too nice sometimes!

My wife and I vacationed in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountain Park about 50 years ago. Staying in a motel on the north side of town. Our room was very nice with a patio by a creek. Grilled steaks on a hibachi, and when in town, found interesting shops and amazing candy shops. The mountains, cool fall weather after a long hot Southern summer was far more than pleasant. Gatlinburg, then, wasn't growded or developed or as tourist "trapping" as it is now. I guess I'll never visit there again.....being where people won't even yield to someone leaving a parking lot??? Reminded me of visiting the beauty of northern Wisconsin. The wide rural spaces with family run dairies and, seeing they were built to keep cows and milking in warm barns with milking stations during the long cold winter, makes my purchases of aged cheddar even more appreciated. But further north, the wonderful state parks and excellent camping areas high in the mountains were great. but then to visit the DELLS was a shock. Miles of fantastical attractions such as an upside down Whitehouse ect were found but held little interest for me. . But many others will travel vast distances and race. Pell Mell past natural wonders to get to the trashy "midway barkers," pushing crowds to see the elephant & be parted with their money as quickly as possible. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I guess coming from working in a major city I'm used to making a hole in traffic when they don't want to let you out you force them to choose between letting you in or hitting you.

"Hot till November." Same thing here in the Vegas Valley. Its October and thw high temps are still about 90. Finally dropping down imto the 60s in the am tho. 7:30 i drove in So California trzffic for years. I wil absolutely work my way into traffic. She's probably just too timid to to do it.
I haven't been charged by a tow guy before. I was in the mall parking lot, and I left my overhead light on which drained my battery. I didn't even call a tow guy, some guy that was parked beside me, his son was a tow truck driver and he called him to come give me a boost. The son was there within minutes with booster cables and I was so grateful, I tried to pay him but he refused my money. The Dad saw me in the mall help an elderly man sit on his walker because he was struggling and wanted to keep the good vibes going 😅. ❤

I’m staying in a boutique hotel in Lancaster, PA. A wedding and reception. I get back to the hotel, the dozen spots by the hotel are filled with cars. The other part of the lot says “Parking NOT FOR HOTEL.” It’s dark, pouring rain, cold…. I go to lobby and was told “Oh, just ignore this’d signs. You can park anywhere!” Will my car be out there in the morning??
This is a completely random question to anyone out there, how well do those cobblestone-style parking lots hold up? Do you get much damage from a harsh freeze or issues with snow plows? Is maintenance easier on that kind of surface (replacing broken bits vs patching asphalt).
By the way, regarding money... ... I can bet you that even without donations, you all wouldn't have charged that lady to remove that boulder from under her truck! It's not always about money, it's an element of compassion and you two have a truck load of compassion! My bucket list still has a trip to see you all and if I have to park illegally to meet you, it will be worth it!!!

That was an amazing call/visit. No arguing, no haggling, just dealing with it even if complaining about the situation in general.

My wife and I vacationed in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountain Park about 50 years ago. Staying in a motel on the north side of town. Our room was very nice with a patio by a creek. Grilled steaks on a hibachi, and when in town, found interesting shops and amazing candy shops. The mountains, cool fall weather after a long hot Southern summer was far more than pleasant. Gatlinburg, then, wasn't growded or developed or as tourist "trapping" as it is now. I guess I'll never visit there again.....being where people won't even yield to someone leaving a parking lot??? Reminded me of visiting the beauty of northern Wisconsin. The wide rural spaces with family run dairies and, seeing they were built to keep cows and milking in warm barns with milking stations during the long cold winter, makes my purchases of aged cheddar even more appreciated. But further north, the wonderful state parks and excellent camping areas high in the mountains were great. but then to visit the DELLS was a shock. Miles of fantastical attractions such as an upside down Whitehouse ect were found but held little interest for me. . But many others will travel vast distances and race. Pell Mell past natural wonders to get to the trashy "midway barkers," pushing crowds to see the elephant & be parted with their money as quickly as possible. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I feel you on the traffic. I live close to the MS Gulf Coast and I refuse to go anywhere near Hwy 90 during Cruising The Coast!

I used to work some interesting jobs and at the end of the week we’d go around the team to find out who had been called the best insult that week 😂oh, boy!!

I haven't been charged by a tow guy before. I was in the mall parking lot, and I left my overhead light on which drained my battery. I didn't even call a tow guy, some guy that was parked beside me, his son was a tow truck driver and he called him to come give me a boost. The son was there within minutes with booster cables and I was so grateful, I tried to pay him but he refused my money. The Dad saw me in the mall help an elderly man sit on his walker because he was struggling and wanted to keep the good vibes going 😅. ❤

I’m staying in a boutique hotel in Lancaster, PA. A wedding and reception. I get back to the hotel, the dozen spots by the hotel are filled with cars. The other part of the lot says “Parking NOT FOR HOTEL.” It’s dark, pouring rain, cold…. I go to lobby and was told “Oh, just ignore this’d signs. You can park anywhere!” Will my car be out there in the morning??

This is a completely random question to anyone out there, how well do those cobblestone-style parking lots hold up? Do you get much damage from a harsh freeze or issues with snow plows? Is maintenance easier on that kind of surface (replacing broken bits vs patching asphalt).

It's not always about money, it's an element of compassion and you two have a truck load of compassion! Be weary of “ had money in suitcase” next thing you’ll hear is a police officer “ they said you took their money” like you said there are some shady people out there. 🤔
