    Pink and grey birds are galahs they are the most common of the cockatoo family, they are found through out Australia. In the afternoons they fly on mass over neighbourhoods and make huge amount of noise, just like noisy school kids on there way home The white and yellow sulphur -crested cockatoos found in wooded areas of Australia they quite often become pets.

    This wonderful lady at my church is in her 90's and has beautiful snow white hair. One day she asked, "What are you doing to your hair? It's lovely. I said, "Thank you! I am not doing anything but getting older. It's just turning grey." Some people in my family go grey early, so I am enjoying it!

    Love that Holly quilt! I'm almost 59. My mother and MIL went gray naturally and so did I. It's not the color of the hair, it's what you do with it that matters. I've gotten several compliments on mine and I have never looked at a man or woman and thought they were so old because of their gray hair.

    Major Mitchell cockatoo, sulfur crested cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets are the birds. The gummies are Allen's brand...love their snakes. All 3 of those birds are wild in Australia. Love the Holly Leaf quilt. Very very pretty. And not sure if anyone mentioned this but to make it easier stitch on black fabric, you place a lamp or other light source "under" the fabric so it makes it easier to see the holes. 🥬🥬🥬🎄🎄🎄

    I bought a pair of the Havel's after your visit to Somewhere Sewing in Ohio a few years ago and I have to say, you didn't steer me wrong. They are awesome and my hand doesn't hurt when I have to do a lot of hand cutting (as in applique). Sew happy to have had you put that worm in my ear, Pat. I have also let my hair return to it's natural color. Once in a while I'll have my hairdresser put one of the temporary pops of color in it for something different, though...just because I can! LOL!

    I'm excited about sewing on the "Scrappiness is Happiness" sashings as we go along too. And I LOVE how yours is looking with the blue background! You're giving me the courage to venture out to try different color backgrounds. Maybe with "Sweet Childhood Memories" or "Jolly Box 4" QALs...
    I had ankle surgery June 2021 and that's when I stopped coloring my hair. Now it's white/gray and below my shoulders. Every few months I have a couple inches trimmed off to get rid of the old color. So much easier and cheaper lol.

    You could drizzle the threads in your yard in the Spring so the birds can make colorful nests.

    • @PatSloan
      @PatSloan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Birds use many stringy materials in their nests. Still, the string, yarn, thread, and ribbon leftover from craft projects isn't always suitable as nesting material. The bright colors from yarn and string can catch predators' attention, and the dyes that create those colors could be toxic to birds.

    • @deloresangus7117
      @deloresangus7117 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you do leave thread, yarns for birds to use for nesting, make sure the bits are short,so they cannot catch on branches and wrap around birds’s legs while they are in flight to their nesting sites and cause the birds to be trapped by their legs. I once rescued a bird caught this way that was hanging upside down totally exhausted from trying to fly but unable to escape the thread ensnaring him. Ever since then, I’m careful to cut my thread waste into fluff before I discard it into my bin!

    All my x-stitch thread is on bobbins in a double-sided box (Hobby Lobby $9.99) and I have three other boxes that hold thread for WIPS. They all fit in my 3 tier cart which is next to my sofa. Not that I'm trying to enable anyone. I started coloring my hair at 18 and now at 71 I would love to stop. It's mostly silver but, if I just stop I'll have that two-color look and I don't like that. Not sure what to do.

    What a beautiful blue top you're wearing today!!! I love love to wear blue and that's one of my mostest favourite shades. The perching cardinal vest is so adorable, too! That's a lot of shades in your hair! I've lost my natural colour but have various shapes of grey to white. Stylists call it Arctic Frost. lol I'm cheering the white hairs on to total domination as I admire several friends who have snowy white hair--beautiful. I also admire women confident enough to let their natural grey/white beauty show! Aside from admiring your appearance today, I enjoyed the entire video, as always. The white birds with the yellow crests are Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos. Beautiful, smart, mischievous and loud when they want to be.

      Aurifloss Is Expensive for me and many others unless you get it free, or gifted.
      Aurifloss cost around $5.24 ( at FQS) for 18 Yards, while
      DMC cost around $1.06 ( at H.L.) for 17.4 Yards.That is about 4 times the cost. Everyone should be able to do as they see fit for themselves. I do not judge, but to say, it’s not expensive isn’t the same for us all. Thank you.
