  • The Z34 Nissan 370Z is a super affordable entry point to premiere sports car ownership, significantly undercutting many of its European rivals by a good margin even when new. So with used prices entering the sub £10k mark now, just what kind of driving experience does the Fairlady Z offer at that price point? Let's find out...

    Am an owner of a 2020 370 Sport and purchased it as a new model. Love the car and would welcome others to the Z family.

    I’m an owner of a 370z. If thinking of buying one… just do it. They’re fun. Just buy one that hasn’t been thrashed and is still bone stock.

    I owned a 2006 nissan 350z g.t. for about 2 years and loved it, it was a great car.
    I used to get about 23 m.p.g. and I was running 275 / 35 × 19 rears and 245 / 35 × 19 fronts on new alloys from wheelbase with falken rubber..
    I also put an after market scorpion stainless steel exhaust on it.
    It was a great drive and it never missed a beat, 2 years of trouble free motoring..

    I purchased my 370z used with 70kmiles a year ago and daily it. I live in NJ so it snowed and yet with good tires no real issue. I bought a manual so one I had to replaced the clutch because the pilot bearing had become warn out and was grinding. Other than that I’ve put 40k hard fun miles on it and no issues at all. Stock shocks make no noise since the z is light and they use g37 shocks so they’ll last a while. I’ve seen listing with 370z having 280k miles with original motor and still going for $12k. They hold they’re value well, cost nothing to maintain, and since it’s Japanese if you take car of it, it should last you your whole life time. Just buy one if you can, you’ll get to have fun driving for the rest of your life.

    A very well-done review. No parroting of either hype or criticism, all original thoughts. One thing though, on the "hatchback design" remark: dude, that's the traditional front-engined two-seat sports car design; maybe with exceptions, but certainly the rule.

    I bought a 2019 370Z 6MT sport coupe new at the end of 2018. Because of the VVEL valve timing, the car is very easy to drive. I had intake and exhaust modifications with a dyno tune to pick up about 50 peak horsepower at the crank. I also installed stiffer anti-roll bars to make it handle even better. I daily drive the car and love it.

    My daughter is looking at a Mazda MX5 Miata but I am trying to talk her into one of these in convertible. I would be more inclined to borrow a 370z than a Mazda MX5 (maybe she will buy the Mazda for that reason)

    Hey Boss, I seriously dig the channel 👊!!
    From all the GT content (GT4 is Still #1😜! Lol) to your Beards and Cars real world reviews/impressions. It’s reliably delivered with with insightful commentary with the professionalism of a veteran, Orator while maintaining a naturally laid-back demeanor (an oxymoron perhaps..? Lol).
    Bottom line: HSG Automotive is an outstanding channel about a topic/hobby, etc. that I’ve always been passionate about. All that a nice “chill vibe”, Lol 😜... And many days That is precisely the type of video I Need to put me in a better mood! 👊 CHEERS 🍻, Bub!!

    Yeah bought a 2019 6mt a few years ago. So much fun and trouble free. Only TH-cam commenters bash it, a stock one kept shiny - have gotten countless compliments everywhere from total strangers. If you buy the manual and drive like a granny, feathering the gas… short shifting, you can get extremely good mileage - I beat the figures given… but it does defeat the purpose lol.

      Care to share some numbers for mileage you're getting?

    • @datacipher
      @datacipher หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@varmastiko2908 on the highway, on a 100km stretch I did many times - with curves and hills (going to and from Canadian Rockies), I"ve gone as low as 8.2 l/km (litres per hundred km)....and that wasn't going slow, but probably averaging 125kph, if I go pretty wild....and maybe average 130kph but with spurts of 140kph up to 160 passing a lot of people, I get more like 9.2 - 9.8 l/km. In town, I get 10.2 to 10.8 driving very conservatively with occasional bursts of speeds. SO if I granny drove the entire time, I might get as low as 8.2 on the highway, but sure I could get under 9...and in the city, can definitely get 10.5... so not bad... and even granny driving, I"m not accelerating slower than the average non-rush hour traffic economy cars here.

      @@varmastiko2908 funny....I can't see MY reply... ugh.... got to love social media censorship. haha, anyways, I guess you saw it, but I am confident if I drive granny slow and smooth I can do better under 9 l/km on highway (maybe substantially lower) and 10.5 or less in the city (again, maybe quiet a bit less - though of course, if stuck in rush-hour every day which I have been able to mostly avoid, maybe not). Cheers.

    30mpg in a 370z with an auto? I dont know about you guys but my gas guage literally was droping so fast it was ridiculous... more like 18 mpg if ur driving hard which most z owners will do.

    • @datacipher
      @datacipher 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      lol. In my 2019 6mt I can get 27-28 driving hard on highway. (Fast and fast passing - but obviously no stop and start), and IF I short shift and feather it like a granny, I can get about 23 in the city. But yes if you start stomping on it in the city, you will suck up the gas - of course that’s true of anything.

    The torque curve on this engine is very nearly flat, with a slight peak at about 5200 rpm. This is by design because of the high volumetric efficiency maintained across the rev range via Nissan's VVEL valve timing system.

    Have you ever had the opportunity to drive a 86~ish 300(Zed)X 5-speed, turbo or not? If so, did you have chance to fully wind it out and drive a bit with “bad intentions”..? 🍻

    £700 for a years road tax may be why it's quite cheap and the price of fuel.

    "Japanese cars don't tend to have a huge amount of charisma".. Lost me there budd.. Japanese cars are enjoyed without all the flashy stuff. That is charisma and character. Big badge cars tend to be more soulless in my eyes. I love em, but the crowd for those rather buy a complete package..a package that becomes a little grey if you ask me.

      None of the Japanese cars I've driven and owned had much charisma or personality. My own Evo, the Civic Type R's here in the series etc
