Yours is an isolated experience - THAT is a FACT. If you've had 16 Hyundai cars and a majority of them were crappy, you might have a valid claim. I was nervous when I bought my first one, but it's worked out fine. I've had 4 of them for myself and my family and I've been quite happy with every one. Currently I'm driving a 2018 Sonata with 75,000 miles and it has been flawless. I've even done some light towing with the two Sonatas I've owned. No problems at all.
Also in your application how did the recirculating hose on the rear of the engine still reach the port in the air intake piping ? Do I just need a new rubber elbow with an inch longer on one end?
I ended up just getting a bigger L pipe and cutting it to fit so problem solved, never ended up using th e third bracket but man I was actually impressed with the new throttle responce, I have a k&n filter with the stock box and piping and am definitely happy with the results. Thanks for the video!
Might have to notch the engine cover. *Laughs in throttle by wire* It's weird that they have specific ones for Crown Vics, but we have to order them for F150s for it to work
I regret I didn't think of mentioning it before you got to this point...but you could have also "knife edged" the throttle body disc when you were cleaning it. Basically leave the back side the same dimension, but you taper the front side down so that it allows air to slide past it faster/sooner when it's opening. Sorry Jr. had to go through that, but I appreciate your attitude about it. Usually my stomach feels like it's trying to wedge itself under my lungs in those situations.
hey what did you mean by slotting the holes u drilled them and made them bigger? or u just loosened them and scooted them to the right to it would reach?
A little bit of both actually. I took a die grinder and reamed the holes to an oval shape so the bracket would slide a bit more to get the adjustment i needed. I hope this makes sense!
Question. Seeing that I’m trying to do better performance on my 08 grand marquis. I’ve seen and read that a cold air intake is not worth it for these cars unless a tune is done. I was wondering if I get a air intake from a cop car that I believe is similar to the marauder one. Would that be the best to do instead of spending $300 on a cold air intake?
If you didn’t see my video on this, I mentioned that you definitely want a high flow filter! As far as cold air intake, it’s pretty tough to accomplish that on a Panther as it gets its air from ambient temperatures under the hood. Bang for buck, add a high flow filter rather than spending big bucks trying to get something you can’t! th-cam.com/video/af8lcaUa__o/w-d-xo.html
Installing the same one on my 03 grand marquis and what the heck did they send me 3 brackets for???? I’m worrying myself that I must have missed something but my setup is same as yours and in the video I only see you using two of them
Did this on my 06 cvpi and seen a noticeable difference in throttle response. Data log shows a slight increase in airflow. Combined with my full cat delete that was making the car run a little rich I think a throttle body spacer will help even more to get my afr where it needs to be. Idk how much of a power gain it will make if any at all but I'm sure it will be minimal.
Evertime I see a Hyundai it has tail lights or something out. Just a sign of a really cheap made car. I like my big v8 panther cars. Keep oil and water and it's good to go
Where exactly do I install the brackets that come with the spacer? I installed the spacer on mine and forgot to use the brackets l, and it instantly redlined lol
They are actually the original lights, I just tinted them! I did a video on it.... HOW TO TINT HEADLIGHTS ON A 2004 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS th-cam.com/video/hzkVoqq9eHo/w-d-xo.html
In theory, Yes! Slightly better throttle response. Every little bit you do to enhance your engines performance helps. You may not notice it alone, but it works together with the high flow air filter, the true dual exhaust, the premium fuel, the plugs, and coils. You would probably gain 20-30 hp doing all of those!
Hey Buddy amazing video! After watching yours I decided to install the same one on my 2000 MGM. The only worry I have is that the throttle body return spring is now too tight, since it has been stretched out the distance of a spacer from stock set up. This makes me have to push the gas’s paddle harder to accelerate. Did the same problem applied to you? Or is it something we just have to live with after the mod😂
It's been 4 years since this video, but I don't recall there being an issue. Maybe see if you can relocate the spring connection to some place more forward to help ease the tension.
Not as a stand alone product. But thats not it's intended purpose anyway. Its meant to improve throttle response. However, if you combined a performance intake, high flow/cold air intake and dual exhaust you might set 10 hp.
I always liked using spacers, shame it went boom. Makes you wonder if the misfire was the cause of something mechanically wrong but you would think the knock sensor would have stopped it before
Have tried these spacers on several different vehicles , have had ( No ) noticeable improvement in. Gas milage or power ! If they worked then why wouldn’t the factory add one or incorporate the design into the intake manifold ??? In my opinion these are mostly ( snake oil ) and the only benefit is to the bank account of the manufacturer !……..
To a point I would agree with you, but, the bigger picture is a bunch of small mod’s alone do nothing but together the will work to add throttle response, HP and torque. All I need now is the Marty tune and we’re golden.
@@OldeCarrGuy Thanks for responding , the only thing I can see it really dose is increase the length of the plenum by one inch. Drag racers do that to increase velocity on very built engines. Once again if it really made a difference ( Ford , Gm or Chrysler ) would have already done it because they have unlimited equipment for testing way beyond small companies abilities. The spacers won’t hurt any but I think you will get very beneficial results !
I see well thank you, I have a Grand Marquis my self. I was thinking about doing that to my car but if I not going to gain any horsepower forget about it.
Are you going to pull some numbers on Grandma to see if there's any difference in performance? Sorry to see Jr. Detonated his Engine. I would say whatever was causing the Misfire no doubt let go and Cleaned House!!

Lasfit bulbs are now the 2nd worst mod you've done to that car... A throttle body spacer? Really? Just go to Home Depot and bold an 11 foot pipe to your manifold - instant 150 HP gain.
Hey Jim, I thank you for watching my channel and I appreciate the constructive criticism, but now you're just being ignorant. I know I don't have to explain myself to you, but I'll give you the courtesy. I knew this mod alone likely wasn't going to give me instant satisfaction. This, the air filter, the exhaust and rear diff upgrades are all in prep for a Marty tune. Then, they will all work together. You are always welcome to comment on my videos, but if you're only here to troll, pick apart and be nasty, I'd kindly ask you to move along. The world has enough haters. I hope you understand.

Besides a slight increase in hp, the spacer improves vacuum line response which increases the performance overall.
Exactly. Better throttle response i think is how i worded it. Thanks for the clarification!
Nothing like increasing HP by extending the time it takes for air to get in engine ❤
100%

It seem to enhance throttle response! But I also have true dual exhaust and a high flow air filter which all aids in that.
Hello can a spacer be installed on a 2003 Victoria cable throttle?
Yes! It’s the same as this car.
Would this match up with the electronic TB on the 2005+ ?
