Good to see Onyx pitching in on the prep work for planting season. Proud to see him jump into the work. Also good to see Jim up and about. Looking forward to 2024 planting season. Be safe and be well out there everyone.
He is a good young man ....im proud of him and I'm just a stranger in YT comments. Can olny imagine how Zach feels when he sees his baby boy helping as much as he dose.
In winter we had an early dry spring, the start of spring I will probably be shoveling snow in the Mankato area. Crazy El Nino year. Hope you have a great planting season.
Having Jim back makes everything feel right again. Onyx is really well versed at running the various machines. It;s so cool to be able to work with him so much Zach. Cheers Johnson Family and crew. I still miss Catdog, dangit
Nothing like a warm day in March with the sun shining to lure you out into the field a little earlier than you should go, of course then one of your neighbors spots you and then their thinking if Zach can work ground then I should be able to also and then he's irritated at you because it is too early. 😂🤣Good to to see Jim back in the saddle.
Sure glad to see Onyx out there giving it hell. He should start being a lot of help around the farm. Glad to see Jim back today. Now were just waiting on your dad. STAY SAFE GUYS !!!
Very nice to see Jim, & to see him taking it easy giving himself a good, full recovery. We haven't seen Nate recently so get him back in front of the camera please?
Ah, that explains his absence then although I've seen him on Between the Rows watching his boys motor racing, well worth checking out if you have time.
Great to see Jim. He is good people too. Really great how everyone works together there. I'd like to work in a group like that. Have been blessed with that a few times, it was wonderful. Thanks Zack, great video.
Glad to see Jim. Bless his heart thought it looks like he is having a hard time with things. You can tell by his body language and mannerisms he isn't 100%. I hope he continues to improve.
Hey Onyx! If you invert the receiver, take the ball off and put it on facing up again, it's much easier to see the ball. It makes the arms lower as well so you have a little better visibility as well.
Thank goodness for saying you are gonna clean up that shop floor! Driving me nuts seeing it. LOL. Thought I would have to roadtrip from Kentucky and spring clean it!
@4:40, I see you are running a cleated belt. I replaced one of those with a chevron belt. I conveys the seed fine without the risk of an old belt throwing cleats off into the planter and plugging.
I saw anhydrous tanks setting in a field nearby this morning. Fresh tracks from an applicator in the same field. Some here in Northern Illinois are itching to get in the field.
Weather here at home in Washington by the B.C. Canadian border is pretty nice also lots of guys spreading manure and starting to till. Got to love homeschooling with real life experiences tied in.
I don’t know what you’re planning on planting into your wheat stubble, but no tilling corn into it works great here in the desert of western South Dakota. Shades the ground and leaves a nice mellow seedbed.
I briefly chuckled when you said you’re using all your profit to fuel your tractors... but I realize it’s no laughing matter. Without getting into energy policy, I just want to thank you for all your hard work to contribute to our food and energy supply. I wish you luck and hope you have a safe, profitable season.
You ought to have drawings and give your rocks to your subscribers. I bet folks would be so glad to get a rock from Millennial Farmer. You might want to etch your name and the date on it, so folks can know the rock came from you.
For your hydraulic hose hookups, you should use 1 color indicator on left hoses and 2 of the color indicators on the right hoses. Then you don’t waste time going in and out when you mess up what hose goes on what side.
And once properly connected...put the picture of same you take with your phone(for reference each spring) and create a photo folder titled "Spring to do list" for ready reference checklisting....just sayin'
Just curious, as to how many gallons of Diesel, DEF and LP the farm goes through in a year? Don’t need to know the cost, because I don’t want to make you cry again about how much you spend on all of it. Thanks Zac
Congrats to the casting team for gradually ageing the boy playing your son. Real commitment to authenticity

Spring planting?! That means that I have been watching for almost a year now!
Ooh, pretty sure after a year you get sent a 'Token Farmer' sticker by the Millennial Farmer.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Onyx is going to be to busy with racing and girlfriends next year so won't be spending much time on the farm ???

Onyx is such a grown up little man, one of a kind. Hats off to you coming from a 55 yr old.

Jim is always there to lend a hand!
I remember seeding oats mid march of 1987. It was the second year of a 3 year drought cycle and 1988 was hot.

I really enjoy watching the farm come alive with all the projects that start the season off. Thanks for sharing
Growing up in Minnesota it was always called a “skidsteer”, never heard it called a “skid loader” until I got to the city. 🤣😉
I enjoy watching a fellow row crop farmer do a little work, but not too much. We are tripple A farmers. April, August, and Arizona
You could try sorghum or Milo where that wheat was in the gravel field you mentioned since it’s fairly drought tolerant.
It is good to see Jim back on the farm!!
It's good to see Jim again. He is looking well too.😊
Can’t wait to see the new planter rig!!!!!
Very glad to see Mr Jim back on the farm!!
Spring is early. I put new brakes on the ATV yesterday and today is start spring oil changes. Feels good.
