Majora's Mask Fun Fact #30: This is gonna be more on the theory side tonight: The Elegy of Emptiness Statues have the most mystery behind them (besides the Ben Drowned Creepy Pasta), We don't really know of their inspiration nor origins in any way, One of the more accepted theories is that the Statues that are formed from the song are what Darmani, Mikau, and the Deku Butler's Son looks like in their last moments before their deaths, the white out eyes really bringing the idea together aside from link's statue since he is still full of life also, interesting note that John mentioned how the Link Statue's face looks like the Happy Mask Salesman, as another theory is that both the Happy Mask Salesman and the Statue's Face were both inspired and potentially modeled off of Shigeru Miyamoto, this may seem out there initially, but it may make more sense given his involvement with Majora's Mask namely how he challenged Anouma to make Majora's Mask in less than a year when Anouma turned down his idea of essentially remixing Ocarina of Time's Dungeons since Anouma felt the Dungeons themselves were good enough as they were, though considering Master Quest was made later on with new dungeon layouts, guess both of them got what they wanted after all.

If you want to avoid Igos du Ikana's flying head attack, turn into the Goron and roll around the room. The head moves too slow to keep up and will give up after a while. I learned this when doing a three heart run and it's pretty consistent

Also the Fierce Diety doesn’t get a statue due to it technically not having a Soul inside of it. Due to it being more of an extreme power boost from Everyone in Termina.
To answer several questions in this vid: -If Igos takes off his head, just accept that you're going to get hit at that point because you can't do anything to counter the head, and shielding is bypassed by it either biting (Thus holding you down for the body) or simply damaging you. -Shining light on any of them before they are downed also does nothing but cause that little animation of them reacting to it to show, so it's effectively useless until they are knocked down.

so since Matt got the mirror shield I have a funny story about it my first play of majora's mask was on the N64 years after the gamecube came out thing is my 64 controller didn't have a right shoulder button meaning I did my first playthrough of majora's mask without a shield
now it's got me curious if Elegy could work for the Fierce Deity Mask. never tried it before, but i imagine it'd give the message of "your notes echoed far but nothing"
johnny's memory of ben drowned reminds me of the thumbnail johnny's review of majora's mask showing the dragonball 2008 special fight as the videos next to it.(that i remember showed up a lot in the recommended videos to youtube back then.)
Why is the Link Elegy so fricking creepy?! Like, yeah the rest of them look kinda unsettling, but the weird forced grin and overly jagged face make the Link Elegy look just.....wrong.
In terms of Zelda and completion I like to go for everything if I can. My minimum is all heart pieces because that's an immediate benefit you get for not a whole lot of work... except that last godforsaken heart piece in Minish Cap. Man, I love that game but it has its flaws, the aforementioned heart piece being one of them. Also since y'all are experimenting with sound setups: everyone sounds fine except for Greg. IDK exactly why.

Ikana Castle is still one of my favorite themes in the entire Zelda franchise! There's an ominous, yet regal majesty to this theme.
