That's totally up to you when you want to cycle your lights. Some people like to match the day cycle at their current location but me personally I have all my lights set to come on throughout the night and cut off in the morning!
Happy to find you! I have no idea on care for frogs and I really want a bioactive enclosure for some red eye tree frogs for my office. I’ll be following your vids up close to learn more. Great editing btw
For sure. The isopod are one of the most important part. So I would do alot of research on those first then try to find some captive bred frogs. The imports don't do so well.
hey!! from what ive heard abt humidity in the tank, i keep mine at around 60-75% and have heard that keeping it too humid could cause foot rot/other problems for them. but i havent had any issues so far with what i keep it at 👍
How do you view them at night? I read that I could use a red led light bulb but then was told not to, I just wanna be able to see my little green friend active.
I would recommend keeping them in a dark place place at your house and change their light schedule around to come on when your sleeping so that way their more active during the daylight hours!
How do you feed the frogs. I have seen both just letting a few crickets loose in the enclosure and I have seen others direct feed the frogs. Which is the best method?
I only use light for around 12 hours to try to simulate an natural day. But your supposed to change the lights out every 6 months because they lose the amount of uvb they can produce over time.
I would recommend using something more like a glass enclosure to use some live plants to help with humidity. But you could probably make something work with the chameleon cage though.
Great vid! Do you know if I have to make a bio active setup? Cause I’m looking into getting this species and I don’t really have any experience in bio active setups. 🐸
A lot of people like to do use paper towels and stuff for a quarantine tank. But personally the bio active setups hold humidity really well. I would check it out. There’s simpler ways than doing it this way!
I love these guys! Don't own any pet frogs but these guys are the poster child for the rainforest frogs.
I freaking love this species. The coloration is amazing.
Thank you so much for this information I am recently getting a Red eyed tree frog and these facts have really helped me
They are really awesome pets and I plan on definitely getting more in the future!
Thank you so much for being informative and straight to the point.
That's the best way to be!
I recommend mixing the moss with the substrate to help reduce impaction 💕 it's just some stuff I've learned from owning frogs for a year.
Fair enough! Thanks for the great tip!
Thank you for sharing your useful video. I live in Scotland and want to buy 2 of these little guys. They are beautiful
You are very welcome!
Is there a list you can give us that shows us when we should turn on the day time light and UVB lights ?

Appreciate it! I’ll make sure to add that in on the next video!
Great video and wonderful species to talk about
These are one of my dream frogs. I'm so lucky I found these when I did.
Congratulations bro

Congrats on getting monetized 😁👍
It was a long journey. But totally worth it!
How many cricket should we feed them?
Maybe 2 or 3 every 5 or 6 days
@@JosuesExotics 2 or 3 every 5 days?!
Awesome!
Thanks!
How do you feed the frogs. I have seen both just letting a few crickets loose in the enclosure and I have seen others direct feed the frogs. Which is the best method?
Normally I just put a few crickets in the enclosure and let them find them on their own time. I feel that gives them more mental stimulation
Amazing frogs dude! I’ve got some empty tanks in need of new companions! I may scoop up some whites and red eyes! 🤟🏼
I absolutely hate having empty enclosures! Gotta fill em up bro! Lol
Liked and shared brother 🤜💥🤛
Appreciate bro!
Good video, you explain well. I am always wandering if my frogs is enough fed. How do you feed them ?
I normally just put some crickets in the enclosure and let them find them. It’s hard to catch them feeding for me anyways .
@@JosuesExotics how many crickets?
Something about you reminds me of Dave Chappell. Maybe the voice? Nice video btw!
That's probably the best compliment you could give!
Do you cycle out lights or just stick to one? Do you need to have it on at all times for the plants as well?
I only use light for around 12 hours to try to simulate an natural day. But your supposed to change the lights out every 6 months because they lose the amount of uvb they can produce over time.
Really come to love amphibians over the past year 🤪😊
They are a awesome pet to have and observe!
Do you know if they can be kept in a mesh enclosure? I have one from when I had my chameleon and I don't want it to go to waste.
I would recommend using something more like a glass enclosure to use some live plants to help with humidity. But you could probably make something work with the chameleon cage though.
How do I know if a redeyed treefrog is an adult or subadult etc.? How often do you have to feed them?
I feed them ever 3 or 4 days to be honest. But the main difference is size. The adults are may 3 to 4 in? I'll have to check.
@@JosuesExotics thank you! How many crickets per day?
Are they able to live with fake plants? And how many are recommended in a single tank?
Yea im pretty sure fake plants is ok. But normally they are communal frogs so I recommend getting more than one. But 10 gallons per frog is the usual.

@@JosuesExotics ok thanks for the advice!
Great video, are the red tree frogs very loud though? 🐸
Not at all! I haven't heard any noises from them at all.
Only males croak!
Do everything the dude said but try to add a river to make it feel as home ;)
A river would be nice!
I keep my frogs from 70 to 90% humidity
Noted!
