    How do you keep the crickets from jumping out of your dish?

  • @dondutch4107

    im raising up Grays from tadpoles. fist time ever with any frog. figuring out the feeding transitions is my current struggle, small fruit fly to bigger and now trying to transition to small crickets.. i like the distance between the eyes rule, ima adopt that..
    you would be surprised what they can swallow tho. i did lose one when i first started transition likely due to compaction or some sort of complication like that.. misjudged cricket size but little guy swallowed it before i could fish it out, next day that frog was no longer with us needless to say.. he got it in, just couldn't get it out

    How big or deep of a dish do you have your crickets in when feeding your frogs? This may sound stupid lol but since crickets jump couldnt they just jump oout the feeding dish if its not tall enough?

    • @ravishingreptiles
      @ravishingreptiles  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s probably about 2 inches deep. Some definitely do jump out but it keeps a good amount of them in long enough for them to catch them easy

    I have a paludarium big enough for them, but it has some water in it (about 2-3 inches deep). Is it safe for them ?

    • @ravishingreptiles
      @ravishingreptiles  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes just make sure the water is always clean and include a lot of things in the water (like plants) that they can grab on to in order to prevent drownings

    Will they eat spiders? I have crested geckos…and black spiders have invaded them. I am trying to kill the spiders without losing my isopods and springtails. Please help!!!

    • @ravishingreptiles
      @ravishingreptiles  ปีที่แล้ว

      In the wild they’ll eat spiders, however in captivity they seem to only want to eat crickets most of the time

    ABG, avoid arid substrates like topsoil and Sand. Coco horrible. Drainage layer needed as well or your substrate will be saturated and stagnate.

    unless ill, weigh-ins not beneficial and likely to do more harm than good.
