Few people know how much work it takes to create a Persian Rug. Sometimes more than a year of 2 weavers. If an American did so much artistic work he/she would ask for $100,000+!

@@mozartips They make more, like $200 or 5 million toman, but $2000 to $8000 goes to the shop/factory owner. Still they're happy with that because otherwise they had nothing.

So true, trust me it's too cheap for 1900 USD. By the way, maybe half part of the price is for raw materials such as silk.

The carpet you bought for $1900 in Iran is worth more than $6000 in Los Angeles. Persian carpets are investments, the older they get the more valuable they become.

Drew I can tell you as someone who's dad sold persian rugs here in the US, you received a great deal for some high quality rugs. Aside from them having practical use to cover your floors and decorate homes, you can think of these rugs as art pieces. I know you said this was a huge purchase for you but this was an excellent investment b/c I know in the US these would fetch at least 3X the price.

Wow wow woh!!! Beautiful 🥰🥰…. No walking on MY Pursian carpet 😆.
Loved their reaction. That seems like a steal. $1,900 for 2 carpets. But I live in Hawaii where 1 of those would be $1,900…on sale 😆😂

I'm an Iranian and omg these carpets were gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️
I'm proud of the people who make these
Although hand made carpet is pretty expensive for Iranians to buy :)

Man, the best part of that is that you gifted it to your parents. That’s the key to success in life - love and respect for parents
“And We have commanded people to ˹honour˺ their parents. Their mothers bore them through hardship upon hardship, and their weaning takes two years. So be grateful to Me and your parents. To Me is the final return.” [31:14]

Good tip there: 'check the back side of the carpet because of the density of the knots'. Casual buyers can easily be swindled, so if you lack preparation and research, paying a premium to go to a well established dealer is a safer bet. Otherwise, you are most likely to be told all sorts just to get a sale believing you have a good deal.

I have few antique and many semi-antique Persian an Iranian carpets, wool and silk. They are really beautiful and fine quality. I bought lot of carpets when I used to work in Saudi Arabia. There were no taxes.
