That is a real funny intro :D You do great on this camper. I think the camper needs a name. He is going to be loyal to his owner im sure. I wish you well at the MOT. Greetings,, Kitty.
Having owned the 1987 Fiat version of this van, I can feel your pain with the rust repairs! Mine was a constant battle to keep the thing roadworthy, I made up several new patch panels using metal from a scrap washing machine, All the Talbot, Citroen & Fiat versions rusted away at an alarming rate, mine finally got sold when the rust round the windscreen got so bad it was mainly filler & fibreglass! Good luck getting it through the MOT.
Also....That rear end looks good and strong. And, on all of it, once you refine all the transitions from original body panel, to replacement body sections, you'll have it. All this stuff is my dads wheelhouse. He's the body die guy. 😄 You can mimic [straight] panel die results, with a manual brake.
Seppo, you have so much patience. I am getting under my Mazda Bongo soon. I did use Tectyl for underbody protection when I imported it 8 years ago. This has been great but I want to get two more years out of it so I will Waxyoil it this month. It seems solid still underneath but until I go scraping with a screwdriver I can't be sure.
Found the paint kept chipping around the bottom of the windscreen apron and to the rear of the front wings. The touch in pen I used to do patch up repairs left a brown stain around where the pen was applied to the bodywork. This could be carefully scratched away taking some time. This would be worse on vehicles with a rear overhang such as on coachbuilt conversions as this will/did affect the front wheel drive traction.
Being next to the sea doesn't help matters either, seasalt in the rainwater accelerates the rusting process which is why the exposed metal started growing the tinworm so quickly... :S
Fitzy is awesome 👌 Fingers crossed for clear skies and no wind so you can get the welding done
Nice work and best of luck with the MOT
Nice work Seppo. I really love your attitude!
Thanks!

Its always a scary thing to poke around with a screwdriver... :)
At du kan og gider, det er imponerende, jeg havde sat mig i et hjørne grædt snot

Yes!
For most it would be 6 months work not 6 days. Perfection is so overrated. Usability is always my favourite result. Great work👍.
:D Thanks
