Skye Storme whenever you find free time, you should checkout the updated Software Inc. There is some pretty cool new features. I saw the company you built some time back and I know you will do some masterpieces with the update. Just a suggestion. I also downloaded the New York map in TF. Born n raised there so couldn’t resist. Haven’t done much so I will enjoy this gameplay for sure. Stay safe! ♥️
Actually Manhattan HAD elevated railroads on both sides of the island at one point. They built the subways later. 1904 and later. If he wants to be REALLY authentic he'd remove the tunnels as well since the Holland Tunnel was the first built opening in 1927
Maybe the map maker started in 1925 because he likes modern roads. They become available in 1925. Also, regarding freight, aren't there mods for import/export and another that can generate any product you need? Perhaps one of those might be good for this map. Place on an island and ship materials to the mainland to be processed.
OMG That map is gorgeous from the start. I'm from New Jersey and I'm going to have so much fun watching my favorite TH-camr building the railroads of New York (again) lol. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK
As a resident of Long Island and former LIRR commuter, I'm looking forward to this one. Lord knows, you could play blind drunk and still not do worse than the MTA. 🤣
Ever thought of creating a map to scale using train stations as reference? I wouldn't mind seeing that series probably not the whole country just a few cities. As for the cargo idc, you'll think of something. I like the idea of importing raw goods. You should centralize the import point and create a massive cargo port and spread materials that way. With the restriction you can only build factories in town that need them because you're otherwise increasing profit unrealistically. In reality the factory probability had their start in local communities and where the cheapest labor force were.
Can't wait until there's a railroad from Port Washington to Penn station. I spent a lot of time there when I was a child and remember taking the LIRR many times. Can't wait to see what you do with this amazing map
It would be good to see a take on the NY Subway. some of that system is elevated must be an mod for an elevated station? also is there a mod to use Taxis. great to see yellow cabs running around Manhatten
Coal & oil could be placed on the far west end of the map. Large sources of coal came from the Appalachian Mountains. The first major oil for commercial use came from Pennsylvania to my knowledge. There is still some farming in the eastern parts of Long Island and could also come in down the Hudson river from upstate New York & New England. Lumber could also be placed around the Hudson in the north west corner. As for ore you may be best asking an American
Very interesting! So hard to make profit with Passengers sometimes. But never fear! Skye is here! Can't wait to see the finished product. Possibly 75-100 episodes! Thanks Skye, I would never attempt a scenario lik this one. Two reasons! One: My Laptop would never handle it! Two: My brain would never handle it! Just to darn old (70). LOL
This map is insane, Thanks Skye for the upload during this lockdown and we can always count on you for great content. Yesterday I thought we were gonna have to wait for a few weeks before the new season but what a good surprise, I'm glad I don't get paid for thinking. This is going to be a excellent season. Much love from Cleveland Ohio
What an absolutely wonderfully insane idea! I cannot wait to see how you pull this one together... I did something similar with the Austin Tx area... I have a vision... of absolutely clogged up roads (esp. Manhattan!) in your future!!!! Sir Skye... I thank you for providing much needed entertainment just when most needed.. you are truly a gentleman (not), and a scholar (perhaps!)
Nice series, seems like it'll be a great challenge! You might be interested in some of these mods: - More line colours - Angiers "Tunnel Type" 1-4 - PPR Position Light gives some fantastic LIRR-accurate signals which also come with a signal bridge version. - EMD GP9 (New Haven and Amtrak in particular) - GE C40 8w (Conrail, CSX, Norfolk Southern) (There are boxcars and tankers to match) - GE AC600CW -Amtrak P42 Phase V - Asset Badischer Bahnhof Basel Depot - Japanese Style Elevated Train Station - Collision Tile - Third Rail Tracks: North America Just install via the workshop and click Load Game > Options! Enjoy!?
Hey Skye, have you done any research on the industries in this area? There was a huge brick producer on Fishers Island (a bit off the map) and some fairly large farms on long island. If you look into what was produced where, you could maybe place the factories in their proper locations which, knowing your attention to detail, would be super cool challenge (especially with constraints of geography, etc.) If you had like block island and stuff I would say "don't forget the ferry" but you shouldn't be needing that with this map. Super cool project, seriously looking forward to it!
WOW its so cool to finally see my hometown of Mount Vernon in a youtube video and in a video game!! Mount Vernon is the only city outside of NYC to have three train stations on two lines coming thru it.
I used to live on Long Island (a few blocks away from the East Northport stop), so this series excites me greatly. It's also nice to hear from a non-American who has admiration for and knowledge of one of our better mid-distance railways. 👍 If all goes well, perhaps the next series could cover one of the other stalwart commuter rails in the US, such as the NY Metro North or CA Bay Area CalTrain? Or maybe even a light rail system like the NJ Transit PATH or Seattle Link? 😁 P.S. The barrier islands/peninsulas on the south edge of LI from east to west are the West Hampton Dunes, Fire Island, Jones Beach (which I believe you mistook for Fire Island), Long Beach, and the Rockaways.
Skye, you can use a signal as a « station » when you’re in the line management. Easier to do, especially when you upgrade the track (electrify or faster speed). The lines won’t change, so no more warning ! Love your videos, as always. Cheers.
Love the idea for the new series! Also idk if you’ve seen, but there’s some elevated stations on the workshop that I think are absolutely perfect for this map.
Montauk line runs to Jamaica and sometimes in rare occasions to Atlantic Ave or Penn Station and makes no stops in between Babylon and Jamaica that is the job for the Babylon Line also in between Montauk and East Hampton there is a stop in Ammagensett
Excellent! This map looks awesome! I’d also like to inform you that you can choose between 10, 20 and 30 m platforms in the options when placing your bus and truck stations :) save you some time it will ;)
use ferries for now to bring passengers from Manhattan to Stations on Long Island... you'll have profitable ferries.... Then build the Brooklyn Bridge when you have the money.
Yo Skye! Use < or > (or , and . it's depend on your keyboard) for ajust the height of the path, before construct it. You can find so the cheaper solution.
I have been trying so long to find someone, somewhere on the internet, that tried to do this. Thank you so much! Also Remember to check the map of the lines and stations
I know it's too late for this section of track, but did you know that you can snap rail to road but not the other way around? so if you want the track and road to be nice and parallel that is the way to go.
Hey Sky! Longtime subscriber, so cool to see my home on your channel! Was taking the LIRR in everyday for years up til 2 weeks ago cause the virus. 1 critique- this map has my town (Huntington) labelled as 'Flint'. There's two stops there, Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington Station. Would be great to see them named properly. Thanks!!!!!
I was looking at that yesterday!! I was researching Brickworks and found that there were several around Huntingdon .. I have no idea why that town is called Flint instead
@@SkyeStorme There were def brickworks here in the 19th century- there's thousands of bricks around the shore and massive clay cliffs in the state parks. Awesome to see you put the usual dedication in researching my hometown! Peace, love, and health!!!
You have catenery's on the tracks because you changed the date back from 1925 to 1850. but that doesn't change the building looks and the info the game hase from 1925..so it puts catenery's on the tracks. even the bus stops have the looks of 1925's.
Too bad the LIRR Multiple Units haven’t been transferred from TPF1 to TPF2 yet. But if you do install mods, add in the K4S Pacific. The LIRR ran K4s while the were under the control of the PRR.
SKY this is a GREAT map but ya know... no one says you can't edit it yourself as well. I'm definitely gonna play this map but I'm gonna put the date back and add in the Industries that I KNOW were there back in the day. I MAY bulldoze a bit as well as so many of the towns I see are MUCH MUCH bigger than they were in 1850. Remember Walt Whitman grew up playing baseball in vacant lots in Brooklyn. Also much of the eastern part of Long Island was potato farms until after WWII. I'll probably add a landmass with raw materials to represent shipping coming in from Europe, Africa & South America as well plus some stuff up the Hudson river to represent stuff coming in from the Erie Canal. Skip that! At 3:20 you start talking about exactly what I was suggesting!
Skye, I am going to love this series because I am a resident of Long Island! :D Also, don;t you have the underground station mod for Penn Station in New York City?

hey skye, idk if you already use it but there are underground stations on the workshop that you could use in manhattan if you don’t have enough space.
SCIDIDIDI Yh cause in real life the MTA has hardly any overground stations in Manhattan with exceptions maybe in uptown
All That Matters. What do you mean yes there is the whole system is underground the stations might not be on the ground but the trains are underground
