    What an incredibly underwhelming car from Honda, They should be out here competing with the likes of Hyundai and Toyota but instead they chose to introduce underpowered and overpriced cars over and over again, no wonder their sales are dwindling.

      Diesel CVT ,s or diesel automatics are itself very costly & in bs6 era it will be more costly . they must introduce petrol cvt . they must have introduced it when wrv was initially launched as automatic has become a normal option now in almost every car in the market

    A suggestion for you @Autocar.. while comparing design elements of a facelift, it can be helpful if the particular element in the outgoing design is also displayed somewhere on the screen as a visual comparison. If someone has not seen or does not remember the older design, they can make a handy comparison straight away.

  • @sbk_nef
    @sbk_nef 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    I won't even consider Hondas in my shortlist just because a simple basic rear headrest is missing even in the "upmarket" City facelift. How on earth did it sold in numbers with "practicality" to consider? I'm so glad even Tatas are beating the Japanese Now. Nexon is definitely a better choice than this. However the winner for me is still the Ford EcoSport in this segment. But if I had to choose one, I'll go with the Tata because ultimately around 5-10% of what I'll pay will subsequently end up in donations and noble causes. I can compromise a bit of features and get the sense of integral satisfaction. Tata is crushing every segment. WR-V or any Honda in here, as a matter of fact, is just meh. Jai Bharat. 🇮🇳

      @bharatjulakanti 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @AK. DEO its not that Honda understand this. Using 1.5 ivtec in this makes it pricier as it will not be eligible for under 4 mtr and less than 1200 cc cars tax benefits.

    • @ravikiran2206
      @ravikiran2206 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bharatjulakanti WRV competes with ecosport and brezza . If they are able to plonk 1.5 honda should be able to do it without much increase in price. If honda does it one may consider buying it even with 60k premium for so called honda premium ness but now no one will buy this car for its under powered engine.
      Whats funny is honda is afraid that this move may cannibal honda city sales which itself is dying segment.

    Nice review as always! One thing I don’t quite understand is if the fuel efficiency has dropped, are we still polluting less with the new engines? Are the pollution figures down by more than 5%? As 5% is the approximate drop in the mileage and to make any sense at all, the pollution figures should drop more than that 5%. Please do comment.

    Honda Wrv's idtec engine is exciting to drive. Eventhough it is underpowered than others it is still very exciting to drive than others. And remember Honda Wrv is a crossover not a compact SUV so it's kind of one of a kind. If only Honda could bring all the Honda City's features including it's Petrol (ivtec) engine and it's CVT gearbox with keeping all good bits of Honda Wrv with the price range of 8 lakhs-12 lakhs this car can be really very good.

    Honda is trying very hard to capture the segment but I don’t think it’s possible right now.
    While the new WR-V has a refined engine, very spacious interiors and the Honda badge it is not really going to offer you as much as the nearest rivals!
    The 1.2 litre petrol engine is peppy as always! Great top end.
    The 1.5 litre engine would’ve been a blast as the WR-V takes 15 seconds to hit the 100 km/h mark.
    The Diesel engine will fetch you great mileage for sure. 1.5 litre i-DTEC with 100 BHP and a six speed transmission. Clatters and a bit rough, but the engine is great and very linear.
    The 1.5 DTEC > 1.2 VTEC. (13.03 seconds) for the I-DTEC to hit 100.
    Now it’s got a nicer face and great LED headlamps.
    A very unique shape, it may not appeal to everyone but a smart vehicle!
    The equipment list is good but there are a few features missing.
    No TPMS,Cruise Control or 6/8 Airbags, rear armrest, rear AC vents or charging vents!
    Great handling characteristics. Kudos Honda.
    Not the perfect car, but it’s quite good.
    24 KMPL for the BS-VI i-DTEC WRV.
    Improved plastics and interiors next time maybe and an automatic gearbox as well!!
    Great try but the Nexon is still better and the Hyundai Venue.
    Miles to go Honda!

      Engines are fine for what Honda's Offering.
      What are you thinking about ?
      Driving at 200 kmph on Indian Roads.
      Honda has Practical cars.
      They barely Stall in traffic because of their tuning and rev matching.
      Takes up less space and decent tradeoff between Safety and Mileage.
      Also Honda's are known for their Reliability not like VW or Skoda that break down 4-5 years after.

    • @rakmanbaba
      @rakmanbaba 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amanbeniwal1576 I was thinking- 'Hyundai/Suzuki vs Honda'. Not sure how Skoda/VW, India also come into this equation without even a product in this segment to begin with. Since you aptly put it that it can't exactly be driven enthusiastically, the handling is a moot point. Penny for penny a Venue or a Brezza beat it in value on everything else. These don't stall in traffic either, actually show what's behind the car through the camera, protect rear occupants from a neck injury and reduce the chance of an accident in the first place by not needing to be in the oncoming lane for as long during an overtake!
      200kmph by the way is illegal and dangerous in all 16 countries I have driven in except on the non-urban and access point free stretches of the Autobahns.

    Now you know the reason for Honda’s diminishing year on year sales and brand value.
    It is neither able to compete with the other brands under 10-15 lakhs segment nor with the SUV and Premium Sedan in 25-40 lakh segment.
    Honda India definitely needs a change in attitude,approach and leadership.

    Also the same engine is there in Honda Amaze. Do you think Amaze will have more power?

I strongly feel putting turbo Charger on small 3 cylinder engines is going to reduce longevity and durability...With this product feel like Honda does not want sell it in number. In all small suv segment only eco sport 1.5 liter dragon engine seems good but again 3 cylinder.........

      That's why they still offer Naturally aspirated engines With Manual or CVT only.
