This virtually illustrates why San Martin, an entry Chinese brand, puts entry and mid-tier Swiss and Japanese watches to shame. Wonderful video. Thank you.
@@nooski_Watches-ik9nr There’s a video on the channel "I like watches" where several watches, including a Grand Seiko and San Martin, are put under a microscope. The San Martin actually has better case finishing. I’m not sure if that’s because the Grand Seiko was a quartz model, but it still costs 10x more. The dial surfaces were different, so a direct comparison wasn’t possible. It would be interesting to see the San Martin sand dial compared to the Grand Seiko White Birch or Shosho dial, or even the San Martin Jianzhan against a similar Grand Seiko.
This was crazy to see. I own the San Martin and I have to admit it gets more wrist time than almost any other watch I own it just wears for me like a dream. Great video
Seiko lost its soul years ago already. Nothing to search in anymore - the most expensive component on a Seiko watch now is the word "Seiko" written on it.
Please take a look at Seestern MAS homage! I suppose they are San Martin's top competitor. (also I personally like their name, logo and styling far better)
@@SirWow1990 thanks for the info! I've seen the review of their 4th gen MAS in which the bezel was stated to be good compared to San Martin's MAS specifically, but who knows. Which model do you have in mind?
@@OverCowboy At one point I had two 62 MASes, gray and blue dial and also orange dial Doxa 300 homage. All three had bezels that were much too stiff for my liking. On the other hand, I also had SM retro diver (SN004 if I recall correctly) and SN0121T that I still have. Both San Martins’ bezels were much better feeling than Seestern ones, as good as I would dare to hope to have in 200-250$ watch.
@@OverCowboy Other features however are as good in Seesterns as are in San Martins or very close to. Dial/hands quality, amount of lume used, crystal clarity, even case finishing was quite close. Besides the bezels I could only say that movements were not so well regulated in Seesterns as they were in SMs.
Man this just proves what we all know…nice video

I need to get GS under my lens. SM would be probably worse but I know other affordable brand that can be even better finishing Wise 😉

This video is as much about San Martins quality control as Seiko's lack thereof. Kinda wild when its a 1:10 price ratio between the two

This should make Seiko do some soul searching.

Phenomenal video, and proves the point perfectly - a $300 having as good finish quality if not better than a more than $5,000 watch...
San Martin 🔥

Seesterns in my experience have rubbish bezel action, very stiff and uncomfortable.
