Yes, in that scene I got them both to fire on the Warbird. The Galaxy class ship has a lot of phaser arrays, and by looking at the phasers you can see it maneuver over the warbird. The Excelsior is slower and less maneuverable and was basicly launching its torpedoes.
Starfleet Command Directive All Miranda Class Starships will be upgraded with Ablative Armor Quantum and Transphasic Torpedoes. Redesigned As Assault/Escort Wings.
I know the Miranda's are red shirt starships in Trek Lore but they can pack some ! When used as part of a fleet strategy protecting larger ships they can defo hold their own! Odds heavily stacked against it in this video however but still able to give a massive Warbird problems with heavy firepower and maneuverability Love the forward photon launchers on the Miranda! Lovely work on this!
Only thing I can figure is the Miranda class knew they were doomed and went full out against the Warbird hoping to take out their cloaking device so the reinforcements they knew were coming could avenge their deaths. Because a Miranda vs a D'deridex class is laughable.
+compmanio36 You are totally wrong. What difference does it make if a photon torpedo comes from a Galaxy class or a Miranda class ? It's still a photon torpedo.
+Ese Callum That is about it photon torpedo? What about shields? What about phaser power out put? You have to look at the over all condition! A Miranda Class Star should not take on A War Bird with out the surpport of Capital Star Ship!
Yup. Photons aren't everything; besides, the Warbird can launch and carries a lot more of them than the Miranda class. And that's before you consider all the rest that Evil Kirk said. The Miranda was toast from the moment they were attacked.
compmanio36 Well said! Only A fool would take on A War Bird with Miranda Class Star Ship. Even Captains of Galaxy Class Star Ships are hard press to go up against one Unless they have other choice!
+Evil Kirk If, it was in Star Fleet Battles, this would take, um, 1/3 of a combat turn to decide. A Miranda couldn't possibly get past 8 F-class plasma Torps (they'd do 1/3 of the sheilds, per Torp), nor the 4 Rear-Facing S-Torps (they'd take out 1/2 of Miranda's shields, each; and, those are only the REAR FACING torps! Romulan's like to ATTACK HEAD ON!), so, the mid-weight, Rear-Facing Torps (not even down to Phasers, yet) that protect the AFT of this class of DN+ Warbird would crush, like a stepped-upon soda can, the Fed LIGHT CRUISER. Really? What WERE you Thinking? This isn't a video-moment, it's a slaughter of one dumb-assed Fed Captain and/or Video artist. NOT Buying in... But, nice graphics anyhow.
They should have got an Oberth class science vessel. That's because the Romulans would laugh so hard that they would accidentally trigger their auto destruct and blow themselves up.. lol
Thanks for the feedback. Sadly I will not be doing such a video. First of all, we already have quite a few battle sequences between Federation and Borg ships. Second of all, the Borg have been badly overused all throughout Voyager...its time we gave them a break. That show weakened the Borg to a ridiculous level as opposed to the original ones in TNG. Atleast the Federation and Romulans are equals...with the Borg it would just be a massacre (unless Janeway was there, lol)
+Doar Eu It's classed as a battlecruiser, though the heavy armament, shields and relatively low speed make it a battleship. Though most of the ships in Star Trek are cruisers, destroyers or somewhat between (frigates).
Oh wow! Nice work. But I just got a little idea, maybe you can add little scenes from the movies showing the shaking in the inside. Say take it from DS9 or ST Generations.
Excellent, how everything should be. For some reason with the game I was finding the war bird easy to defeat with the Miranda class just by basically having the game AI take over. Bout time I see a Miranda class destroyed--in cool honor that is.
If this was a Miranda-class with updated 2370+ weapons, then I can see them giving a D'deridex class some problems. It's the same situation, in World War II analogue, to a very good, late war Destroyer going up against a serious Heavy Cruiser. So, say, a US Fletcher-class DD versus a Mogami-class heavy cruiser. It's a mismatch on paper, but a smart captain that knows his ship *might* be able to bring his opponent down with a lucky, well-placed torpedo hit. The shorter the engagement, the better it is for the Miranda. The D'deridex versus the Galaxy and Excelsior was more of a stand-up fight. That's three heavy cruisers - and if you don't think the Galaxy is a heavy cruiser, look at its armament - with both the Fed ones being, hopefully, fully upgraded. Even if that's a pre-refit, un-upgraded Galaxy, that D'deridex is going to have a nearly even match, if the Galaxy's captain is decent. The Excelsior just made this a guaranteed win for the Feds, as the D'deridex has to split its fire to try and suppress both targets. I would point out that the D'deridex is, at times, considered a Battle Cruiser, and before the appearance of the Dominion BC's, it would be. But, by 2375, the power structure had changed, and it would best be classified as an extremely powerful Heavy Cruiser instead, given that the more modern Starfleet vessels were getting upgrades during the Dominion War that leveled the power factor playing field between them. The Valdore/M'ogai class Battle Cruisers showing up is a good time for the damaged Excelsior to withdraw, and the Galaxy to buy some time for that with a good Torpedo barrage for distraction. This will be a bad day for the Federation, otherwise. A damaged, older Heavy Cruiser, and a weakened modern one versus two fresh Battle Cruisers is a bad mismatch.
Awesome video :-) I can't wait for the sequel. And as for all the other Trekkies/Trekkers picking and making reference to what is "canon," just do yourselves a favour and be entertained :-)
You've got a point for using Miranda class. I'll take back my first comment. I don't have any advice on part 2 yet, but I'll get back to you if a really good idea comes to mind. :)
Yup, advice was given to me in the first video that the ships were moving too slowly and didnt maneuver enough...so this video was an improvement in that aspect. Thanks for the comment !
No, the class is Norexan. As far as "cannon" stats go, the Norexan class is not as powerful as the Federation Galaxy class. The Norexan is weaker than the D'deridex warbird. It was developed because the Romulans needed smaller, lighter ships to fend of the Dominion. I am releasing a Trailer to the second part of this video in a few minutes.
Bosse bien !
Actually, I would've used a Constitution Class, considering at one time they were the flagship of the Federation. It would've made the destruction seem more visceral and poignant on the Romulan side, considering that one of the most well known starships in the Federation was of that class. Still, a great video! I loved the attention to detail you had for the various ships, as well as the firepower capabilities.
an Excelsior-class going against a Deri'dex Battlecruiser? That is either an unknown captain with serious balls...or Captain Hikaru Sulu...also was not expecting the Mogai Heavies to show up
i forgot how to spell it bit i'm sure it is not spelled Norexan. (I might be wrong). Anyway, I believe 1 Noreanx(or whatever) could beat the Galaxy and Excelsior combined, unless you are using them as cannon fodder, I suggest lowering the number of Noreanx or using a 2 sovereign against 3 Noreanx.
So.. a D'erdidex class ship attacks. And two more M'ogai warbirds show up. Against a Miranda starship. That farce should have been game over in the first ten seconds.
Theoretically, it could have.. But it would take a super badass pilot to avoid all those plasma torpedoes. A single photon torp destroyed an unshielded Miranda in TNG. It was the Lantree, I think.
Because I needed a canon fodder ship to be destroyed to make the second fight look like a Federation payback ? What ship would you have used for this purpose ? Oberth, Nova, Centaur ?
Can some one give me info on a certain ship. It was I believe the Enterprise. It was from the episode of next generation when picard is ''time traveling'' through 3 different times because of a anonmly that Q helps him discover that originated in the future and travel backwards through time because of anti time...or something lol but the future Enterprise with Riker as the captain was BAD ASS. What ship was it?
You have spoken the unforgiveable sir ! The Excelsior is sacred ! 90 years of service and still the main bulk of Starfleet, still the ship of choice for high ranking Admirals. Also it would be good not to forget how upgrades can really make this class of ship a lot meaner...Defiant vs Lakota ; ) Something else to keep in mind, the Excelsior was brand new when the Mirandas and Connies were already old...
Valdore is nice, but not as large or as imposing as the classic D'deridex Warbird. Valdore is also a much more agile class of ship. When I made this video, I wanted to pit a few Feds vs one larger lumbering ship ; ) Choices were either Dominion or Romulan. I chose to use the Romulan Warbird.
It would have been very difficult to get good footage + runabouts wouldn't be randomly patroling the romulan border...much less decide to engage a Warbird ; ) No, I think the Miranda was a good choice. I will be working on part 2 in the following months. Advice and ideas are welcome : )
Either the Miranda-class is much bigger than it's supposed to be in this video, or you scaled the D'deridex warbird down to the size of the Constitution-class.
Yes, Star Trek Bridge Commander. Unfortunately this is video is already several years old. The newer videos I have made using new Bridge Commander mods are much better than this.
I dont wanna sound mean, but I was kinda glad to see the Excelsior class take damage. They are a very old class and need to be taken out of service. Mirandas too. and Constitutions. Or any other ship from the " Kirk" era.
This is incorrect, the federation ships has higher defense/damage ratio than the romulans- the romulans have a cloaking device, which they didn't use. The romulans wouldn't have done that well. the cloaking device is what gives the romulans the upper hand, not direct battles.
The size and power of a d'deridex far exceeds most Federation ships. The only fed ship in the TNG universe that would be able to take a single one on would be a Galaxy class star ship. Even then, it wouldn't be a very fair fight. In later series when star fleet starts out-fitting ships for war, They would be a much better match for the Romulans. A Sovereign class star ship would probably make quick work of a D'deridex in a one on one.
SpaceCaptainBill I would also point out the TNG romulan warships slow as hell and the turn rate SUCKS! not till after the Dominion war did the Romulans learn with the Valdore or Mogai class that Maunverablity was a strong suit in the Federation and Klingon Empire's fleet's thus they build the Mogai and Dheal warbirds for service during the Dominion War. however the Dheal never say service till the 25th century in the Romulan Repubic
SpaceCaptainBill Yeah but like the Galaxy class have superior firing rate, maneuverability and warp speed then the D'deridex. The only thing the D'deridex has is cloaking and much bigger than a galaxy but size means you can get hit more easily. One on One galaxy class would of been a good match if not a better match. Plus federation computers are actually more advance than romulans :3
@@thrakerzad5874 TNG Galaxy class but maybe not dominion era Galaxy class. The Dederix was not as powerful as it should have been for a warship that size.

As impressive as this video was ...... considering it is standard Starfleet protocol to notify next of kin when you are assigned to a Miranda I find it hard to believe it took a D'Deridex that long to smoke a Miranda .
I not at all about who knows more. Although you are right, I have wasted far too much time versing in all this Trek gibberish ; ) There are a lot of opinions on the Trek forums about which ship could beat which, but they are frankly, mostly opinions. pfft, totally unrealistic
everyone knows a miranda class has a life expectancy in battle of about 8 seconds
Against the Klingons yes, but romulans don't have very dependable weapons.
Starfleet Command Directive All Miranda Class Starships will be upgraded with Ablative Armor Quantum and Transphasic Torpedoes. Redesigned As Assault/Escort Wings.
nice touch touch on the video with pirates of the carribean music!!!
that's the one part of the video I didn't like, not appropriate for anything concerning Star Trek
Excellent music and overall quality! I give this a 5 stars man! Excellent work and thank you for sending this to me. Keep it up :D

Still looks better than most trek these days!!!
Edit: miss bridge commander badly!
BRING BACK BRIDGE COMMANDER!!!
All in all, that was an AWESOME video that you created!!
Thank you ! DAYN64 suggested the same thing...its a great idea.
I will give it a try in the next video : )
Thanks a lot for the feedback.
Thanks...I am proud of this one.
I believe its much better than the first video : )
The animation on this is just splendid! Nice job!😁😁😁
Great job on this!!!
the sensible thing is to run away...
And IMO the most beautiful Federation ship in the entire saga
Outstanding job.
Who won? I don't know cause the Pirate music made me turn it off :)
It was a modified/updated version of the NCC-1701D (with the three warp nacelles) in a future alternative timeline.
'heavy' cruisers means heavy hitters. Weight does not matter in Space.
And i can't wait to see part 2.
They should have got an Oberth class science vessel. That's because the Romulans would laugh so hard that they would accidentally trigger their auto destruct and blow themselves up.. lol
Yes ! Definitely. You should look at my other videos. The Excelsior class ships are featured prominently in several of them : )
Its was very good I can't wait to see some more action!
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! That was epic! Great job! Looks like that Excelsior is screwed...
Nice animation. Good job.
This viedo is awsome!!!!
Pretty cool and so well done....and so amazing
I agree!! That Miranda class ship was lucky to have lasted as long as it did against a D'Deridax class ship!!
I love the Mirada class but that type of Romulan warbird, sounds like a real quick ass kicking
Thanks for the feedback.

It is nice that you allow the Romulans to have one D.deridex class cruiser against many, ít remind me of the battle of Orford Ness.
Krister Andersson The D'deridex class was not a class cruiser, it was a warbird.
Doar Eu Semantics
+Doar Eu It's classed as a battlecruiser, though the heavy armament, shields and relatively low speed make it a battleship. Though most of the ships in Star Trek are cruisers, destroyers or somewhat between (frigates).

Oh wow! Nice work. But I just got a little idea, maybe you can add little scenes from the movies showing the shaking in the inside. Say take it from DS9 or ST Generations.

Who knows, maybe in the next video you will see this...no promises though.

NIce work, seems the Federation in this battle preferred always to shoot from their aft side of the ship, where the shields are the weekest...
It was a easy outcome as a Romulan warbird power Shields and more is Almost on par with a Galaxy Class Starship.
Thank you : )
I'm surprised the Miranda lasted as long as it did.
