The Saucer section was designed with rear facing torpedo tubes for self defense. It's in the original design schematics and can be seen in the Engineering guide to the Enterprise -D which was in print about 20 years ago.
I think I am correct in saying that Venture is the most loved Galaxy class ever after the Enterprise-D. We are all sad to see her die, even if its not canon.
@startrekker99 Aye...the cowards attacked her in drydock, and she STILL defeated one of them before her honorable end...warriors, all of her crew.... *salute*
After the "Battle Bridge" separated, WHY did they come so close to an enemy ship when all they had is impulse power to maneuver? Plus, I would have used phasers to target (long-range) incoming torpedoes. Plenty of time to "lock on, fire" and destroy them, rather than take the hits.
@lighting1443 You know, that brings up the question of, "Where the hell was the Enterprise-G when the Venture's saucer section engaged that ship????" They might have been able to save them.
what a ship the U.S.S Venture will go down the the galactic history book's and the klingons will sing song's of her battle to the finish with the Gorns.
I always wondered, what happens to a detached saucer section if it survives, after the rest of the ship is destroyed? Is it still considered a whole ship? For example, if the Enterprise D saucer had survived, then would it have gotten a new hull-section and still be considered the Enterprise? Or would the saucer be "recycled" and made into an entirely new ship?
Here's a comment on an 8-year-old post! Talk about NecroPosting.. My guess is, since the "most expensive" part of the ship - the nacelles, the warp core, the extra shuttle bays, the cargo bays and so on - was destroyed, the ship would be considered lost, in Starfleet records, the same as if the whole thing had gone down. If the ship has a famous name or something, like the ENT-D, and this was before the replacements to the 2365-generation of ships was ready to come online, they'd take the next Galaxy stardrive section that was nearing completion, and mate the two halves, then recommission the ship. The problem is, compared to the Excelsiors, every ship class that came afterwards had some kind of major fault. With the Constellations, it was poor power output. With the Nebulas and Galaxies, it was cost-to-performance ratio. With the Ambassadors, it was the misconceived notion that they were underpowered in the weapons department, or that their shields weren't up to snuff (the Federation thought the ENT-C lost a 1:2 fight against the Romulans, not a 1:4 squash match). With the New Orleans, it was something to do with warp field stability with its mission pods decreasing its top speed and acceleration - which, for a Destroyer/Frigate is a bad thing. It wasn't until after Wolf 359 that the Federation basically said "screw cost, make them good." An unintended side effect was the extremely cost efficient, much-tougher-than-expected Intrepid-class, which used quite a bit of off-the-shelf technology, while incorporating some experimental features. Every other class that came after 359 was a winner - because Starfleet NEEDED replacements for everything it was still flying, including 120-ish-year-old Mirandas. Now, something I haven't seen in any Fan Fights is an Exeter-class. They're the hyper evolved Constitutions, and first put into service around 2340, 100'ish years after the Connies first came online. They were classed as Light Cruisers, and had firepower roughly equal to the 1st/2nd generation Excelsiors, which largely hadn't been refitted since commissioning with newer technology or better weapons since what they had was "good enough." The 1st/2nd generation Excelsiors were still considered Heavy Cruisers by 2365, while the Galaxies are best thought of as Battlecruisers in a Cruise Liner's skin. I would have loved to have seen modified/updated Excelsiors with at least Ambassador-style nacelles and hints at upgrades, but we know the behind-the-scenes budget for such things was non-existent.
I always have a problem with anything that even suggests the GORN would ally themselves with anyone the GORN are one of the most XENOPHOBIC races in the entire STAR TREK universe on a throwaway episode of STAR TREK : DS9 Weyoun says to whoever is standing there and basically the audience " the DOMINION sent over 100 ships into GORN space , none have returned " that shows the true power of the GORN even the DOMINION can't successfully fight them in battle they would never ally themselves with anyone
Was there not an Enterprise-F? I saw Rifleman's Enterprise-G video, and it showed every Enterprise, NX-01 through Ent-E, including the JJ-prise, but I didn't see an F.
What happened to the Enterprise-G? Why didn't she help the Venture's saucer sectionwhen they attacked the Gorn Battleship? Those are my questions...both of which are unanswered....
My my, you let thee Venture go up in a glorious ball of fire? I thought that you'd never let this happen. So, what ship will continue the legacy.. new Ent-G.. or perhaps Eclipse class Venture - A? ;)
was nice video apart from were could those photon torpedoes come from galaxy class all on the secondary hull plus can't it normally fire only 3 at a time forward and back.
+John raymond green To address in order: The Galaxy class saucer section was equipped with a rearward facing photon launcher where the two halves would normally connect, just as the stardrive section had a phaser array on the dorsal section of the same location. These respective weapons were only accessible when separated. To answer your second question, incorrect, for two reasons. First, the canon Galaxy could fire five torpedoes from its standard launchers, fore and aft both. At least, in the series it could; Bridge Commander is a bit different in that it has the capability of firing four to the fore and two aft, which I think is kinda stupid, but...what can you do? Lol. Secondly, Rifle was using one of the many mods that had been made up for Bridge Commander, which increases the number of weapons each ship has and can fire. I can state many examples of how the base game and mod differ just in this video, but the most blatant way you can tell is that the base version of the game only has the Galaxy using photon torpedoes, NOT quantum torpedoes like were used in this one when the Venture was still one whole ship rather than separated.
Have any of you played Jets 'N' Guns Gold and know one of the weapons on that game, which can penetrate metal walls and walls? Well it can penetrate enemies shield too haha with one shoot and destroy their ships :) If the Federation had some of these ships such as the one of the ships on Jets 'N' Guns Gold with upgraded weapons and shields etc. The Klingons, Gorns and Kressoks will not have any match agains them haha Goodbye :)
So what's the point of actually installing warp core ejection systems on the Galaxy Class starships if NOT A SINGLE ONE EVER WORKS? Was that a documented design flaw in the Galaxy? I know USS Galaxy had a lot of inherent design flaws when she was launched that LaForge preemptively fixed aboard Enterprise...
SargeMorris And yet the Big E suffered a fatal coolant leak from a Klingon attack, leading to.....you guessed it, a warp core breach, leading to the E's destruction and her saucer section's crash landing on Veridian III (re Generations)...

Another masterpiece, bravo!
excellent work man, especially loved the generations theme bit with the venture. Please keep up the good work.
The ol' girl went out in a blaze of glory. Goodbye Venture. Looks like the Gorn/Klingon/Kessok are gonna have some beatings to receive!
A galaxy-class with quantum torpedos? Heh, must've been a refit
I think I am correct in saying that Venture is the most loved Galaxy class ever after the Enterprise-D. We are all sad to see her die, even if its not canon.
These videos are very well scripted and edited. These video are great because a great deal of thought goes into making them and it shows. Fantastic.
@startrekker99 Aye...the cowards attacked her in drydock, and she STILL defeated one of them before her honorable end...warriors, all of her crew.... *salute*
The Venture sure as hell didn't go quietly!
starfleets waiting till every galaxy class gets KIA.
i liked the video, but didn't think the music went well with the action. still saving it ti my favourits :-) thanks for sharing..
@kriswrightnow My guess is a retrofit that added torpedo launchers.

Can't wait to see the next one! There is gonna be a next one, right?
Is this music from video game "Medal of Honor"?
nice video
@movieking88 thats MoH? it sounded like it was from the original CoD,...
@bennett1562 Would it still be the Enterprise D or would it be renamed a whole new ship?
I always have a problem with anything that even suggests the GORN would ally themselves with anyone
the GORN are one of the most XENOPHOBIC races in the entire
STAR TREK universe
on a throwaway episode of STAR TREK : DS9
Weyoun says to whoever is standing there and basically the audience
" the DOMINION sent
over 100 ships into
GORN space , none
have returned "
that shows the true power of the GORN
even the DOMINION
can't successfully fight them in battle
they would never ally themselves with anyone
Either the Gorn battleship finished off the Enterprise-G, or there were two separate battleships.
Wow!!!!!
Haven't these starship captains EVER HEARD OF "evasive maneuvers?"
Was there not an Enterprise-F? I saw Rifleman's Enterprise-G video, and it showed every Enterprise, NX-01 through Ent-E, including the JJ-prise, but I didn't see an F.
That was epic

Leonidae the Star Destroyer "Enterprise", of course!
how can a saucer section on a galaxy class fire torpedoes?
Was that the death star
The Enterprise F is located on a Star Trek Online!
and they say Vulcans don't feel emotion

Sad that the U.S.S venture was destoryed
Do you make this Videos with Star Trek: Bridge Commander?
How can you make the Cam flow so freely?
I'm confused, I could've swore the Klingons and the federation were allies.
@HaBooBo0 yess they would build a new body and no theres no enterprise f
1:58 WTH Does This Ship have Multi Vector Assult Mode ?
+FATBRUCELOL APPLEBEE Why not? Prometheus class showed its a tactical advantage.
FATBRUCELOL APPLEBEE have you not heard of the saucer separation of a Galaxy class
FATBRUCELOL APPLEBEE assault fighter built in
This music is from MOHAA.. LOL

Is this any mod to make this videos? I mean, a camera mod, a simulation mod...
@kriswrightnow
The same i wanted to ask^^

Rifle what program do you use for ship modeling? Or is this part of the Bridge Command?
635 m long 35 decks
Either rifleman isn’t trying to tell s story or doesn’t know how.
Aww MAN! :/
Jerry Lewis
...no good movie, just plain computer graphics.
