Since we got a shorter version of it in Germany, I can still hear the rap in German.
      "Taucht ein in diese Zauberwelt‬
‪und kämpft wie Link, der Superheld.‬
‪Rettet die Prinzessin aus teuflischen ‬Klauen,
dazu müsst ihr dem Drachen die Rübe abhauen!"
All of you, enter this magical realm
and fight like Link, the superhero!
Save the princess from diabolic claws,
but first you'll have to decapitate (literally: knock the turnip off) the dragon!

10:40 More or less. It sounds minor, but you need to look at it this way. *If Nintendo hadn't brought out ROB, they might never have gotten the foothold needed to revitalize the entire video game industry.*
Department stores didn't want to carry video game consoles because the VG market crash in '83 meant they were left with a shitload of old consoles. So Nintendo's idea was to market their video game console as a "Nintendo Entertainment System" and package it with a toy as the Trojan Horse, as a way to convince retailers to sell them.

One of my favorite video game commercials was for the first ‘Ty the Tasmanian Tiger’ where it shows Spyro, Crash and Sonic all in hospital beds with Boomerangs lodged into some part of their body. Then Ty shows up, says “Boo” and they all flatline in fear.

Man, as goofy as they were, I love old game ads. There's just something so hype and/or in-your-face about them.
And like the Doods said, the games sold you on their difficulty and content. As well as "Are you bad enough to win?"

One video game commercial that always stuck with me even though I only ever saw it twice was the one for Chrono Trigger on the SNES, where the voiceover is entirely Japanese but for the subtitles English that did not match up, ending with "Word." or "Cool."

I think the ones that stuck with me the most were _Crash Bandicoot,_ _Mischief Makers,_ _Legend of Dragoon,_ _Bushido Blade,_ and _Golden Sun: The Lost Age._
_"Not everyone can be a samurai warrior! Not everyone can live by the power of the sword! And not everyone… can die with honor…_
    _…I, for example, make kazoos!"_

Awesome seeing all these old commercials again! I think I remember just about every single one of those NES ads--except for MegaMan 3, which is weird considering that's something I'd have been the most hyped for back then!!

I remember getting Game Genie for PS1 for Christmas and being SO upset 😂. I asked for a Pro Action Replay...for...reasons lol and I told her ahead of time, THIS IS NOT AN ITEM YOU CAN GET AT TOYS R US OR FUNCOLAND WAY ACROSS TOWN you can only get it at one of the local game shops LITERALLY down the street and it's HALF THE PRICE. So I got the game genie 😥😂

I remember seeing a Japanese PlayStation 4 commercial where you have a lady get angry at a guy who use snake's arm cannon from MGS:The Phantom pain and he use it to tell her be quiet then it they sing that "we can do anything" also the boy and bird creature from the last Guardian appeared then they all say we can do anything in the end but my favorite part is the guy with the rocket hand punch a dinosaur bro that was awesome.

My favorite commercials are the ones that have nothing to do with the game until the end and then you’re like “What”
